I picked up a pair of those jeans that the Pod God dropped the other day. Apparently they are not designed for sitting down.

Dr. Ravi & Nurse Claire, a huge thank you for the seminar. Very informative and much more engaging than anything medical provided back home.

On a different note, I think there are a fair amount of us who used to fly or pilot before we came through here. Would anyone be interested in getting together, comparing specs of what we flew and the tech involved and seeing if there's any possibilities for that sort of thing here?

[Spock]
So, did you learn anything in the sex ed seminars? Because I have a list. Should we compare lists?

I want to remind anyone who interested in trying wizard's chess, and who isn't too shellshocked from the educational seminar, that tonight's Chess Club meeting will be the first public trial. I would appreciate any feedback you give on how it performs.

Those from my world: you know what to expect from wizard's chess, so please alert me to any deviations in how the chess pieces behave for you or if you notice them in how they behave for any of your opponents.

Those not from my world: the chess pieces should obey your commands to move to the directed space. You will name which piece is to move and the space to which it will go. The correct piece should relocate itself as directed by sliding to that space. In a fully developed wizard's chess set, the pieces would capture the opponent's piece; we will not be testing that behavior just yet, so you will need to manually remove captured pieces from the board. If you are a non-magical person-- a "Muggle"-- I would like to know if the pieces fail to respond to your commands or if they give you any grief. If you're of magical stock, please watch for any irregularities in how they react.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you tonight. You may leave your feedback on this post after the meeting.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in the snowball fights and snowmen building over the last few days. It's interesting how we lose some of our normal habits when we're kids. Though I don't think snowmen building should be restricted to kids.

[Trek]
Hopefully I wasn't too much of a terror the last few days.

[Spock]
Going to stop avoiding me now? That was weird. I miss you.

Is this what happens when you fall off a cliff? I thought I was still holding on. Maybe I bonked my head.

On the flip side, I'm rooming with a Vulcan, which is pretty awesome, pointy ears and all. All this snow! Anybody for a snowball fight? Are you sure this isn't Iowa? Feels like an Iowa winter.

Who: Jim Kirk & Spock
When: Tuesday January 19 after he visits Christine
Where:their room.
What: Starts out with Kirk going "OMG ADMIRAL PIKE HAS A KID" and someone ends in a Vulcan mind meld. Go figure.
Rating: PG13 for some kissing / fade to black at the end.

It is logical that…should Christine and the Admiral have offspring, that the Admiral...that their child should resemble him. )

Mapmakers Alpha (Baelfire, Anna & Darla)
Good evening, Alpha Team. I would have reached out to you sooner, but I didn't expect the mountain to be taken siege by a dragon. I am Commander Spock of the U.S.S. Enterprise, and I will be leading our team to explore the regions beyond Mount Weather. We will work together to set an agenda on how best to accomplish our mission, and then we can decide how best to move forward.

Maya Lopez
What are your plans for Bravo Team?

Jim Kirk
I require a distraction.

Thor's AMA was was less chaotic than I imagined. We all had some pretty interesting questions. What do you guys say about making this a regular thing? I am totally willing to hold people's hands/walk you through the format/answer questions.

Come on. Everyone's fanboyed or fangirled over someone. And sure we've seen the stories but you can get answers from the horse's mouth and it's not like we have The Late Show here. And, jsyk, the questions people ask don't have to be about you specifically. They can ask questions about your world or your job or even something like, "What's it like to fight a dragon?" See what I did there? 0:D

The last thing I remember I was coming in from work. Now I'm inside a mountain and I have no idea how I got here. The people in Medical said that there might be others here that I would know? Is anybody out there?

[info]snipps

Not where I thought I'd end up this morning, but I've been assured this is a safe zone — despite the beast that was felled today. I would like to offer my services for assistance in any way that I can.

Senator Amidala, I've been told that you are here? How is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi?

When you have a last name like mine, you expect people to know of you before you show up somewhere. So I suppose it didn't surprise me much when I got here and people knew who I was. But that's not quite the same thing as watching a version of your life that everyone has referred to. Although, personally, I would have made some different editing choices.

[ Star Trek ]
Yes, I watched it. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn't ready to see Nero torturing Pike on the Narada. Pike never said how bad it was. I won't stop you from watching it if you want. And if you want to watch it together, I'm okay with that.

More than anything, it made me miss our crew.

I'm sorry to lose Neville. The greenhouse isn't the same without him.

Thank you everyone who came to the first Chess Club last night. I hope you all had fun. Freddie and I look forward to seeing you all again next week.

And, just to remind anyone else. If you like chess, or are interested in learning. We meet every Thursday night. And happily give lessons for those that want them.

And, the last Thursday of every month, we'll have a tournament.

So, after everything that's happened and given the sheer quantities of snow we have around here, I propose:

A SNOWSCULPTURE CONTEST

Tomorrow [Sunday, Jan 3] seems as good a day as any. Everyone's welcome to participate and I was thinking of a space theme, mostly because I want to see everyone build a snow model of their spacecraft/ship if they have one. But, this isn't a hard and fast theme. Just guidelines. Basically, an invitation for everyone to come out and have fun. If I can swing it, there may even be prizes.

So, who's in?

[Spock & Sulu]
1. At what point should I stop keeping a captain's log? Never?
2. There's someone here who looks like Uhura. It's weird.
3. You two are helping me build a kick ass Enterprise for this contest tomorrow.

WHO: Spock & Kirk
WHEN: Around December 10th, after the mistletoe pod fell.
WHERE: An abandoned corridor
WHAT: Kirk corners Spock under mistletoe; or, Starfleet saps strike back.
WARNINGS: Suggestive content, blatant use of holiday tropes, schmoop, && lots of making out.

I wasn't aware that you had such an interest in this planet's flora. )

I don't mind Jim's need for public affection as much as I should. I am concerned that makes me more human than Vulcan. And that my father would be disappointed in that.

And I miss Vulcan. I do not understand why it needed to be destroyed. Logically, it was inevitable. But these emotions are... foreign to me.

And my moth I should very much like to return to the Enterprise now.

For those who celebrate this Christmas event I hope you enjoy it.

Secondly for those who expressed interest in the meditation I shall commence lessons early in the new year, perhaps from January 8th. If you haven't expressed interest you are still more than welcome to join the lessons.

Between the battle and waking up a few days later in medical and everything else, I realized I practically missed Saturnalia. Tomorrow would be the last day of it, and it's one of those things that you looked forward to most of the year. The festivities were always pretty great. Though I think it'd be chaotic if we named a king of Saturnalia here.

Nonetheless, I miss New Rome a lot at this time of year.

I hate being immobile.

I'd probably hate dying or losing an eye or something more though, so thanks to medical for not letting that happen, and everyone who was fighting nearby and for that matter everyone who was fighting not nearby. And I must remember to thank Moon Knight if he ever turns up here, the upgrade he did on my staff really is fantastic work.

[Mapmakers]
I can't believe I'm saying this, but if someone has the time to bring me work I can do from my room I will love you forever. Seriously, I might even kiss you.
