I have been ripped from my home of Everdale and taken to a land I have never known. To have this happen twice on the Ruler's behalf is unsettling, but I am not so sure that he has sensible reasons for this. I only hope that Everdale remains well during my absence.

Hello and greetings, everyone. I introduced myself previously, but we've had some newcomers arrive since then. My name is Erwin Smith. I'm a commander, so pleas forgive me as it's something that I'm used to doing from before. I have a few of my soldiers here and we would like to invite you all to train with us on our mobility gear. It allows us to essentially fly through the air, to train and to fight if needed. I have one of our best swordsman here; he's also the best at the mobility gear. Don't let him try to tell you otherwise.

I'll let Hange explain away how the gear itself works, if she'd prefer; but imagine that you can shoot yourself through the air and fly through the trees, basically. The training would be a free class, naturally. It would be something that we would offer. If nothing else, perhaps for those of you who wanted to do something different for exercise, well, this would certainly be it.

So, who would be interested in participating in such a training?

I need to get out more. I mean really, this work-home-sleep cycle is becoming a problem. So. I'm quitting my job. And I'm gonna try something new. I don't know what yet, but I'm gonna figure it out. Maybe I'll try taking some classes or something.

I've seen snow. I've done snow before, lots of it. I've nearly frozen in the snow. I've traveled for hundreds of miles through Antarctica, completely naked. Cold can be a powerful, dangerous, wonderful thing.

For some reason, even though I felt I was finished with the snow, it's beautiful here. I don't know why I am at peace. I keep going over Frost's poem in my mind;

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Has anyone else noticed the giant snowmen roaming around the city?

I have decided that cooking is one of humanity's pinnacle achievements. So fascinating. I remember when you were just learning to toast meat over a fire, and now there's coffee and breakfast cereal and burritos. And marshmallows.

The shops are starting to fill with heart-shaped boxes of chocolates.
