What goes into a proper introduction? I have not done this in years...

Greetings everyone. I suppose this will be an introduction of sorts. My name is Lady Acantha Helianthus. In the past I have been a pirate lord, however I am considering this a new start. It's a pleasure to make Preya a new home. I hope I can make the acquaintance of you all as well.

Been a while since I've updated this thing. Things are going great with me, I've moved in with Steve-- well, actually we had to find a new place because we got a direwolf puppy. I have a fucked up sense of humour so I called the poor thing Fubar, but Steve calls him Paws because he's adorable like that.

He just ate our couch, so we might be in the market for a new one? But everything else seems to be going great. I've got a pretty good teaching gig at Shugosha Academy, you'll probably all see me there.

I'm going to be setting up a Veterans Program with Steve as well, for former soldiers and people who have certain post traumatic stresses related to battle. People must know who I am, what I've done, how they can even stand to live with me is beyond--

I'm terrible with words and shit, but I've had some seriously messed up stuff done to me in the past, stuff that I might not ever get over. We've all got history, not all of it's good, but coming together in a group setting, it's not going to wave a goddamn magic wand or anything but as it was back when I was just a soldier before Hydra and all their bullshit, we're all brothers and sisters in arms.

Or whatever. Like I said, words aren't my stuff. That's Steve, he's more into the touchy feely stuff. I'm more the type to suggest putting a picture of someone you considered your greatest enemy back where you came from on a dartboard and throwing knives at the picture. Coping mechanisms can come in different ways.

This got long. Maybe words are my thing after all. Anyway, let me know what you think. And if anyone knows where I can get a good offer on a couch, that'd be great. Preferably one that our new wolf pup won't maul.

Still getting used to this place. I've seen all sorts of people here, I know not everyone's happy about coming here, but I can tell there's out of towners from here that come here for an escape, a new beginning, that sort of thing. This place is a lot like Wakanda, it's closed off from forces that might disrupt it, even the technology's something else, though Wakanda's was more dazzling. Can't expect the Wizard of Oz that's running the place to know everything about everything though. Unless he does, which makes me wonder if he's Hyd--

Hey, so I made muffins. And dinner. Wanna join? I know it's not exactly Valentine's yet but I figured old habits die hard. It's like riding a bike, even though it's been almost seventy years since I've done it. And you always sucked at cooking, so I know you love it.

Oh, and I applied for that self-defense teaching position too. The headmaster asked for a resume and qualifications and stuff, but I just pretty much gave our history in combat and stuff. They said that the last self-defense teacher was one of the ones that left Preya recently so they were short staffed. We're still interested, right? He's okay with having us co-teach. Probably wants us to tone down the gay a little bit, but I don't think there's any problem with that. Much.

[Public to everyone old enough to know Santa exists]

So seeing as Christmas is just around the corner, I've organised a little something at my library for the kids. The library is already getting a bit of a makeover, with trees being put up and decorations and all that, I've got the Christmas stories more prominently displayed, and as Christmas gets closer I'm going to be dressing up as Santa and reading to the kids, because there are some kids here that don't have their parents which is pretty bad. And there are also kids here that do have their families here but I just thought it'd be nicer for them.

So Santa will be coming to the library to read to the kids and hand out gifts. I'm going to be randomly choosing children's books that they miss from home, nothing bigger than that. I know words, I know books, so it shouldn't be hard.

I just thought it'd be a nice thing to do for kids who are missing their families and something for kids in general to have to celebrate Christmas a bit better. I used to do this sort of thing at hospitals, but since we don't really have that kind of thing here (which I'm glad about don't get me wrong) I just want to make sure that they know Santa can come to Preya, too.

Let me know if anyone wants to collaborate with me on this, I'd really love to make this as magical as possible. Pun slightly intended.

I suppose it would be polite to finally get around to introducing myself now that I have established my office outside of Circuit Circle in Brightford. I am Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a therapist - I am willing to work with most types of trauma and mental illness, although I do not offer any kind of couples or family therapy. One on one sessions are where I find my methods work the best and I would not like to compromise anybody's treatment when that could be better fulfilled by somebody else.

That being said, if you are interested you are welcome to book a consultation session with me. My hours are 9am - 5pm and my office is open Monday - Thursday.

On another note, I am looking to establish regular ingredient suppliers for my dinner parties. I prefer to buy locally and seasonally, especially when fruits and vegetables are involved - I am planning an upcoming dinner party and I would like to offer my guests the best that Preya has to offer. If you are interested in coming, please let me know so I can issue you a more formal invite once I have a definite date set.

I've volunteered to work this Halloween with the promise of the day after off. So, hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised with only a handful of skinned knees and twisted ankles.

Now all I need is a proper mulled cider. Anyone know a spot selling, hot preferred? Or another suggestion entirely.

That vacation was truly wonderful, but it's nice to be back in Preya again. Next time, I would really rather being asked first.

I have been ripped from my home of Everdale and taken to a land I have never known. To have this happen twice on the Ruler's behalf is unsettling, but I am not so sure that he has sensible reasons for this. I only hope that Everdale remains well during my absence.

Amirah - my friend Miss Shafiq, you know - was very amused by that particular inclusion on your list. She had her elf prepare it for me. Arcturus was a dear and went to get me the Pepper-up potion you recommended. He was rather distressed to discover that the other potions on the list don't exist. He couldn't find them no matter where he looked. Amirah told him it was a silly joke of yours, like sending someone to the broom shop for a long stand or some invisible paint.

His inconvenience doesn't trouble me. Something else does, though. There are very many things that we disagree on but I did think that I could trust you to respect my views, especially with such a delicate matter as my health.

There's a new nurse on nights this week and he's quite strange. He keeps singing to the patients and generally being loud. I'm not sure he's realized they're supposed to be resting if possible. I was only in the wing for a half hour to sign off on some medication changes and he didn't shut up the entire time.

In other news, I'm John, and I've just gotten myself to what I feel is properly settled in. Best places for takeaway? Anywhere to avoid? I'm in Ravenmoore. I suppose any advice for a newcomer would be appreciated.

I'd like to ask about something. I've arrived here from 1940, and my family and immediate community are very traditionalist for the time. Old-fashioned, you might say. When I was growing up, I was very often told that I couldn't do things because I was a girl. As I got older, I didn't let it stop me from following my ambitions, but I also got rather good at persuading and placating and otherwise winning round the men who told me I shouldn't. Men may be more suited to certain pursuits, but that doesn't mean women aren't capable of them at all. One has to be clever about it, that's all.

I don't see those attitudes here in Preya, for the most part. Certainly not on the telephone network. What I do see, however, is a level of crudity and disrespect that really does frighten me. I'm not so naive as to believe none of the men back home thought that way, but they at least had the decency not to share their thoughts with all and sundry. Aren't you terribly worried by it? And why do you think they do it, if they don't think that they are superior to women?

It seems there needs to be a change around here. It's what you mortals crave.
