I guess it's time to make the official.

I'm going to be starting at the institute on Monday. Nervous a bit. But, it is something that I should have probably done a while ago. Who else is attending?

I, um...I'm not living in the dorms yet. I know I should! I'm not technically old enough to be on my own. But I wasn't expecting to stay here this long.

Does anyone like oranges? I always gather a lot around this time, a tradition I suppose. However, I seemed to have too many this year. I can only do so much with them.

Hey! I drew Emmi's name for the Secret Santa thing. I want to get her something nice! What does she like? Does anyone know her? I mean, I'm assuming it's a her. It could be a him. Or a they?

There's so much I don't know!

I've been here awhile, and I know most of the wizards here are from a certain group. I'm a warlock, or at least that is what we were called - and it's like the same thing, but I have a slightly different type of magic.

Now here's my question - why do some still call me a muggle? I didn't go through life in towers by candle light. I know what an iPod is, and I can use a phone even if I had a magical time out for 20 years. I'm still not a muggle.

Also, I think I just came out as a wizard, or whatever.

I really hope this isn't a side effect from the candy apples I made. Food poisoning is awful enough in its simplistic form; I cannot imagine it being twisted with some sort of enchantment. Makes me rethink buying food from a grocery store where the produce is sold next to the aisle of potions.

This place is strange indeed.

Citizens of Brightford, while we are yet uncertain just what is causing this recent magical disturbance, I assure you that I will do what is necessary to find answers. In the meantime, please remain calm and bring your questions and concerns to my attention so I may try to assist you to the best of my abilities.

A great number of the accounts coming to my attention give me great concern. Does no one know anything at all? How many times must there be events of this sort that go without truly being answered for? I find it truly astounding that your people have remained compliant in this way for so long. I would like to bring them some adequate answer rather than brushing off their concerns as simply 'how things are'. Surely someone must know more. I come to you as my fellow council members for the sake of these people left constantly to wonder.
