I'll be brief.

My name is Colonel Roy Mustang, State Alchemist and I am just arriving here. I have been appointed as the new Councilor of Brightford, and I hope to serve you all well. I will maintain fairly normal office hours, and I will attempt to do what I can to do the people well.

Being new here, I am curious, what are some things I should know?

Aside from business, I enjoy chess, fine wines, and riveting conversations.

Has anyone seen my brother?

It has been quite a while since I've seen or spoken to Genji. I do hope he is well or around and just upset with me. I would hate to think otherwise with him.

I fear the worst for my brother. I fear he is gone, taken away because he helped in your rebellion.

If that is the case, then I want whoever is responsible to pay. I finally had my brother back, alive, and we were making amends. Then this happens.

Life can be cruel, but I can be crueler. Whoever is responsible will learn never to mess with the Shimada Clan again.

I find there is nothing more serene than watching a cat rest. Seeing them curl up in a ball, paws over their face, as their tail swishes about, is peace at its finest.

It's always a shame when the sounds of spurs jingling disturb that peace.

A few of them have gotten use to the noise, but not all of them yet.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, an American holiday about forgiveness, family, and unity. And while I do so, I will also remind everyone that we are truly not unified. There is no forgiveness, no family, no unity this season. This is a travesty.

About a week ago, there was a crime committed at Centurion Square. No one was injured and the crimes committed were misdemeanors at best. Thus, I believe the sentence for any crimes resulting from this be only a week. As it is the holiday season, those serving their time are to be without friends and family. They have served punishment enough with that, have they not? Why make them suffer longer? It wastes the government's time and money when it could be put towards better things, such as helping those in need.

If others in Preya agree with me, please let it be known. Our voices should be heard, should they not? Isn't it better to forgive?

Citizens of Brightford, while we are yet uncertain just what is causing this recent magical disturbance, I assure you that I will do what is necessary to find answers. In the meantime, please remain calm and bring your questions and concerns to my attention so I may try to assist you to the best of my abilities.

A great number of the accounts coming to my attention give me great concern. Does no one know anything at all? How many times must there be events of this sort that go without truly being answered for? I find it truly astounding that your people have remained compliant in this way for so long. I would like to bring them some adequate answer rather than brushing off their concerns as simply 'how things are'. Surely someone must know more. I come to you as my fellow council members for the sake of these people left constantly to wonder.

Though many of you were able to meet me at the Fall Festival, I wish to extend my greetings to you all once again. My name is Saber and I come to you this time as a member of the council, representing Brightford. I am not used to typically using these means of communication, but seeing as though it has been necessary for me to relocate to the city, I am better trying to familiarize myself with it. In the coming days I intend to do the same with the place I now call home. I open myself to any of you to voice your concerns and present your questions, though I ask you bear with me should it take some time to answer or rectify as I am just getting settled myself. In the future, I hope to be someone you all can turn to in your times of need and that I can offer what is necessary as a member of your council.
