Dear Sirs,
I write to you with a particular request. My name is Arcturus Black and I arrived in Preya recently, through a spell which had been sent to me. It saved me from a terribly perilous situation and I shall be ever grateful for that. However, it is
completely horrid awfully concerning to learn that I am now not permitted to leave. If that was the bargain that I was making, I was quite unaware of it.
My father is Licorus Black, of London, and should there be any expense incurred in returning me home, I assure you that I shall be able to meet it. Further, I give you my word of honour that I will say nothing of this place. I understand the importance of secrecy. Instead, I might tell my father that I left home without permission, to visit a friend, and while he may be
furious quite irate about that, it seems preferable to the alternatives. He is
the best wizard in Britain an extremely powerful wizard and if I am not returned home, I daresay he will stop at nothing to find me. I should also not like to cause any upset to my dear mother, and I cannot imagine what she will make of my disappearance.
I am given to understand that it is not within your power to send me home, but perhaps you might mention my case to those who can? There is also my education to think of, as I had been doing rather well
at Quidditch in my magical studies at school and any prolonged interruption may jeopardise my future success.
