If you don't want generalising bigots who never shut up to be your representative, let me know below, because I'm going to storm the comms team and put out a message. Peacefully storm. I'll knock politely, probably. Comms team, radio people, you're great, but I need to borrow your stuff.

Anyhow, whatever turns out with the coalition, I don't want to be associated with the disgusting messages spewing onto our network that put all Grounders in one basket. You lot who argue back on the network are doing a bang-up job and keep at it, but I don't argue worth rot. But I can talk. Our friends who happen to be from different tribes with different takes on what's happening don't deserve to think ill of all of us just because some cretin who's more savvy with tech than he or she is at basic human decency is blasting us full-stop with their sordid opinions. I'm not about to be one of them because I didn't loan my voice when the time got right. Who's with me?

I feel the need to say something for the safety of our community.

And before anyone starts in on me for being anonymous, I want you to stop and think about the fact that the punishment for treason is execution. We haven’t been down here long, and I don’t like the way things have been going, and I don’t want to find a gun at the back of my head because I said the wrong thing and somebody in charge decides it’s part of a plot.

So here it is: I don’t think getting tied this closely to the Grounders is a good idea.

Their first response to seeing us, when all we did was land, was to attack. Not “hey there,” not even “who the hell are you?” They rolled up and kidnapped a kid and left him to die on a tree. That’s their idea of a warning. They’ve shown signs over and over of being a brutal culture. This whole “blood must have blood” thing? That’s really something we want to be part of? I thought we were supposed to be moving away from the whole Ark philosophy of “you screwed up, now you’re dead.” Finn Collins should have been brought to justice, but not like that. The person who gave scared teenagers guns and thought they’d make good decisions with them should have been brought to justice, too, but you know we’re not going to see that happen. The Grounders decide who’s guilty, and then the Grounders torture them to death unless somebody steps in with a mercy killing. Looks to me like if we join up with the Grounders, we subject ourselves to their laws, and those laws don’t look like they have anything to do with justice. They’re about revenge. I don’t want to see any more kids die because adults put them in a situation there was no getting out of.

And that’s not even touching on how we ended up here at Mount Weather.

The Grounders do not, and will never, consider us their people. It doesn’t matter how much we try to fall in line with them. Even when we have the exact same goal, they don’t give a damn for us. They were willing to let our kids be drained of every single drop of their blood to get their own people back. They trusted the Mountain Men, who they had fought for years and years, to keep their word rather than trusting us to get in. We can learn their language and follow their rules and stick to their borders all we want, but when it comes down to it, they’re always going to sell us out if it benefits them. Right now Trikru hates Azgeda, but if there’s another enemy out there, they’ll still pick Azgeda over us. They like us when we’re convenient, and they’ll kill us when we’re not.

This alliance is a mistake. Honestly, the best thing we could do is get some of these Pod people who can travel long distances easily to help us find a genuinely uninhabited place where we can start over and get the hell out of here. No alliance with the Grounders is ever going to get us anything but death.

We're back, and with good news for once. Lexa called us to Polis to offer us a place as the 13th Clan in the Coalition, and she's given us a week to decide if we want to accept or not. The Command officials will be meeting for the next few days to discuss it, but even though we won't be having an official vote, your thoughts are still valuable. This is a big decision on our part, and it's worth publicly discussing so that your representatives can accurately argue for your perspective in the meetings.

Speaking of the Council, we're having a shift in personnel: Abby Griffin is stepping down as Chancellor to devote more of her time to Medical. This means we're down from 5 members of the Council to 4 for the time being, because Marcus Kane is stepping up as Interim Chancellor until an official election later this year. Kane served the Council on the Ark, and to be totally honest, he understands and negotiates more effectively with the Grounders than Chancellor Griffin ever did. This is a positive thing, and Chancellor Kane should be addressing everyone in his own words soon.

SNOW WHITE:

I'm not sure what the chance means for you, because I'm not sure if Mom has talked to you about it. She basically resigned in Polis instead of waiting to get back. Kane might be more proactive about announcing things himself or he may want to use you the way Abby did. I'm just not sure, and I wanted to give you the head's up.

I will be gone today. I go this morning to see Luna. I will return after, but probably stay to meet with some of my people while I am at the river.

There is much happening now with the border trouble -- it heats up in the time most of you were away. I have a restless feeling.

Fight Club will be this Friday, though please don't feel obligated to join in if you're still recovering from the recent events. It could be a good way to let off steam, but we also don't want any vindictive feelings in the ring and people are still expected to maintain composure and follow the rules.

But I, for one, am looking forward to punching a few people in the name of the sport. Jacob and I hope to see you there.

Anything to distract fr The concept of voting to herald in a new leader is strange to me, although I understand that it is quite common to many of you. It literally gives the power to the masses, does it not? Interesting concept, even as I am skeptical of it. Yharnam functioned as an independent city-state, of course, and was constantly at war with the city-states it was geographically near. The Church organised the city and determined which cleric sat on which borough. It was an imperfect system, as it tended to favour familial dynasties rather than opportunity for advancement for everyone, but as the purity of one's blood was vital to being respected, familial inheritance was the only way to control who took seats of power.

So, voting. How interesting! I have done so. I can see the appeal, I suppose, although what does one do if one is not happy with the results? Is there recourse? Objection? Fights to the death? There was a son who was granted the head of the Choir back home who many hated due to his constant trips to the lower wards of the Cathedral district (I believe it is referred to as 'red light' in this vernacular). Many objected to what they perceived to be his moral failings. There was objection to his post, the Choir rallied, and they never found his head in the end. Politics are fascinating stuff.

Right, so - Bell here, and I've got a small project.

Henry Mills is looking to have an Easter egg hunt. He wants 200 or so eggs, hollow, that he can put candy in. I asked if I might have a bit of fun with it, and he says that as long as they hold candy, they can do whatever else we like.

Anyone else want in? I've got a basic design set, based on what I use for making smoke bombs, so there's no need to go re-inventing the wheel, but I imagine the children would enjoy whatever creativity folk might like to put to it. Would anyone else like to help?
