I would like to thank Mr. Ethan Chandler for providing me with the ongoing glad tidings of a Christmas tree. While we had indeed begun our journey before the pods arrived with decorations, there is some comfort to be found in decorating with what one possesses.

We have tied scraps of ribbon, glass trinkets, strings of popping corn, and even a few candles for lights. It certainly isn't the worst tree I've ever seen. I am glad to call it my own. And I do hope that all of you have good fun with your own trees, too.

My dearest Lucy,

We have seen war in two different realms, we have seen opulent palaces and the most humble of homes. Together, we sought to make Cair Paravel our own (the apple orchard, do you remember?) and we scored the land with our own memories. That is how we made an alien realm our home.

But I tell you truly, the Tisroc's desert gardens do not compare with the beauty of this homespun little tree. I find great comfort in the winking of the lights and each ribbon - thus knotted - tells me that I might tie myself to this place. I might live out the fullness of my life.

Even if Narnia will one day be shut to me, even if you are all swept away in trains and in lion's breath, at least I know that I can make my way. At least I know that there are reasons to believe in the strength of my own heart. I can make a home anywhere, Lucy. Narnia taught me that.

I have successfully made a shitty drum, and some shitty drumsticks. The nice thing about percussion is you can do that anywhere. It's the little things, you know?

This is Crane's field of expertise but I've been thinking about this a lot since I got here, about how we got here and what might be possible here. Given our presence here, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume someone - or something - else from our own worlds would show up. Something that means harm to all of us. We've already faced a demon, and we know there was a werewolf out there somewhere. If that's possible, I can't help wondering what else might be, especially when we know nothing about how we got here or why.

I have this journal that was passed down through my family, full of details about magic and weapons and supernatural things that most people didn't even know existed. It's useful, but my partner and I always had to do a lot of research when faced with a new foe because nothing was compiled all in one place. We did a lot of guessing. I don't want us to end up scrambling for answers here any more than we have to, so I've started writing down everything I know about everything I faced in my world. The demons, the Horsemen, whatever other creatures we encountered. Their strengths, weaknesses, how to defeat them. I figure if I'm here, it's not impossible for the Headless Horseman to get here too, and none of you would know what to do if that happens.

What I'm thinking is that we all need to work together. We need to share what we know about the dangers we faced in our worlds so we're all better prepared to face what may come our way. If anyone wants to help me organize this, I'd be glad to have the help.

As you all know, there's quite an intensive search and rescue operation being put into effect to find those amongst us who have been lost. Beginning tomorrow, I'll be leading a group to work our way thoroughly through the tunnels and bunkers here under Mount Weather. I know that some search has been made here, but this will be thorough and complete, and will likely take a few days. If you'd like to help out in this regard, please do let me know so that we may make sure that everyone has a chance to help.

End of story. We've had people disappear without a trace, and finding traces has been made more difficult by the fact that we're not keeping strict track of everyone's comings and goings. I guarantee you we don't give a damn where you're going or why, we just need to know that you're going in the first place, so if something happens to you, we know about it.

And we don't know if leaving the compound is the problem. People are going to hate me, but I propose this: mandatory sign-ins at major checkpoints: the main door to residences, the cafeteria, the gym, the library. Sign in and out of work detail. I don't want to limit anyone's freedom but if we can know where people were and when, we can establish a timeline in the event that someone else vanishes.

This isn't a terrible place. I've lived in terrible places, and while this isn't a wonderful place, it isn't terrible. But I'm discovering that I'm really very homesick, and I miss Gil terribly. And Marilla. And Cornelia. Oh, and Diana. I'd always dreamed of sharing the joy of impending motherhood with her, and I never even had a chance to tell her! I feel like I did when I went to Queen's College, and missed Green Gables and Avonlea so much that I found myself counting tears, before they became too numerous to count. Only there's no way to go home, and no way to write a letter that will reach home even if I took the time to write it.

Oh, there they are, those tears that have been my companions these past few days. I'm sorry to those of you who are living with me; I usually don't cry so much. Is there, by any chance, a garden here, with flowers coming into full bloom? Where I may bury my sorrows in tending it?
