Mount Weather

Well done, everyone.

[Command + Military/Fair Weather Friends]

You are all probably busy. I certainly understand and will lend a hand wherever I can. I might just be one hobbit, but I've been fighting off what I can around here myself. I've been taking record of everything. Every battle. Every fight. I was able to sneak in and out of places without being noticed, far as I can tell. If anyone needs information, that I can give.

mount weather: kili

In the world Tauriel and I are from, it would have been difficult for us to have a life together. Nevermind how I don't survive the battle - had I lived, we each would have faced banishment from our homes. She already had. For me. For wanting to do what was right.

My uncle was right when he said I asked too much of him. We could not have fought old scars and prejudices in a few weeks or a few months. Perhaps not even in a lifetime. The anger that our people held onto stretched back centuries. Our love alone would have likely never been enough to change their minds. I was prepared for that. I'd asked her to come with me to the mountain, but we each had duties to our kings that we weren't ready to disobey. I don't regret that. My uncle and brother and cousins needed me. Our people needed us. I couldn't turn my back on them. But I had hoped that when it was over, something would be different. Better. If the kingdom no longer needed me - if we'd all survived, Thorin would have been there to rule, and after him there would have been my brother - then I would have been free to do what I wanted. I could have followed my heart. I would have followed her anywhere. I wanted to show her all the things I'd seen. I wanted to watch her watch the moon rise over the mountains I once called home. I wish I could say it wouldn't have mattered what our people said, but it did matter. It simply wouldn't have changed my mind either. I had never been truly alone in all my life until I came here. Now I wasn't as ready to face disappointing my family as I thought I was. I've been angry, and afraid, and demanding in response. I wasn't sure how to be patient when we didn't know how much time we'd have. I wanted the life I knew I would never have in our world.

I wasted so much time on anger I found a place for a home that I think Tauriel would have liked. She wasn't made for living underground like I am, and she wanted to live among the trees, but now she's gone.

I think I'll build something anyway. So if she comes back, it's here, even if I'm not.

A big battle against a white witch? Something about this seems awfully a lot like home.

I may just be a hobbit, but should anyone need assistance anywhere, Sting and I are here to assist.

It's times like these when I do wish that Gandalf were around. He certainly always seemed to know the right thing to do. Me? I just stumble upon things and haphazardly find my way around them.

Good to know humanity is still goddamn predictable when it comes to wars. Fucking atomc bombs. We really didn't learn anything, did we?

Alex Summers. They said I have friends here?

Mr. Stark and I require you in the workshop IMMEDIATELY. And also Miss Frye! Whomever's most adventurous today!

Mr. Stark thinks he can ride it, but I hold we are one whiskey too wrecked for that. And we haven't slept in two days. Three days? Honestly I'm not sure, the point is, you have got to see this thing!

This place does want to keep things lively, doesn't it?

Feb. 21st, 2016

Who else is trying out for the show?

Feb. 19th, 2016

Now that I've my pipe back from before, I think it's quite time for me to start writing again. I had a start to a tale that I've been wanting to tell, though I hear it's already been written and many of you have read it. All the same, I'd much rather tell the story in my own words, as it was meant to be told. At least, my own words in this present, mind you not the present version that you've all read.

Bit presumptuous to start a tale about the company talking about myself, but write what you know is what they always say. I suppose it's a good starting compared to any. "In a hole in a ground there lived a hobbit..." Simple enough to begin! Now then. On to writing!

I'd love to hear your stories, your versions of what transpired. I would dislike telling a tale that was false, after all.

I still do not understand the magic of this place or why we are here, but Kili trusts you and [...] that is enough for me.

I am Tauriel of the. Your forests are healing as well as expected, but still unhappy with the world at large.

Feb. 6th, 2016

Now, I've looked everywhere for it, but I can't seem to find my pipe! If this is some kind of trickery, it's certainly not welcomed. That was a Baggins heirloom it was, something I had with me from the Shire. Bit of pipe weed gone, too. It's such a shame...I'd be most grateful if someone could help me find it.

If one were to want to go exploring around here, what's the best way to do that? I'd enjoy going outdoors if it's possible. I do know it's dangerous outside these walls, but what world doesn't have danger?

Jan. 21st, 2016

The last few days have been difficult. I remember I saw a village burned If I don't keep busy, I'll be lost in the past, and there are things I'd rather not remember any more than I already do. So if someone would like for me to craft a weapon, or a piece of jewelry. Anything. I'm very good! I'm not as good as my uncle was, but it's in my blood.

It is either this or convincing someone to let me mine further into the mountain, and as I think I may be the only one here who feels at home under ground, I would rather be useful.

Are you still here, my friend?

Jan. 14th, 2016

I've been meaning to ask and perhaps it's just me not knowing this technology just yet. Have we found the dragon that everyone was talking about previously?

Jan. 13th, 2016

To all those looking for the dragon, good luck. If it is sleeping, do not wake it. That may yet buy us a lifetime without the need for slaughter. You may think this advice to be obvious, but I was still awoken by some who I can only assume received the same warning.

Jan. 6th, 2016

I was thinking we could all use a little community-building exercise. DON'T GROAN. This will be fun. Maybe we're not all up to trust falls, but here's an easy one: where are you guys from? Because I know some of you come from some real zany places, and y'know what? Maybe there's someone else around here who used to live up the street and you never knew it.

I'll go first!

I'm from Forest Hills, Queens. A bunch of you probably know where that is, but it's (it was?) part of a place called New York City, which iiiiis... pretty far away from here if you're walking. It has to be about 250 miles north of here? Let's roll with that. We have a baseball team that never wins, some airports, and we're all fluent in the language of Mass Transit. Mostly because you can't leave Queens without taking 2 buses and a subway ride to get wherever you want, and you get really good at figuring out what they're saying on the broken loudspeakers in the stations.

It seems quite a shame that we can't explore freely here, though at the same time, I'm glad to be in one place again. Still, I do miss the grassy fields of the Shire. The stars even look different here. Mind you, they did explain a bit so far to me about what's become of this world, but I'm afraid much of it was information that I couldn't begin to fathom.

What could cause a world to be this dangerous to live in?

Jan. 4th, 2016

My brother is gone.

Not to ruffle any feathers, but have we actually confirmed that our dragon isn't the one causing mayhem?

He can do that, right? Turn from hottie Khal Drogo into a dragon?

Have you been brushing up on your dragon slaying?

Dec. 22nd, 2015

I suppose this is as good as a next adventure as any, though I wouldn't have minded just a bit more time to enjoy the Shire before being brought here. Living underground is quite interesting, as well.

Guess it wouldn't be proper to not introduce myself now, would it? I'm Bilbo. Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire. I know at least one of my roommates, it seems. Is anyone else here who knows me? Gandalf, by chance? I daresay I only brought enough pipe weed to last a month. Goodness knows what I'll do if I run out.
