The 100; a panfandom game

I'm heading up the eastern settlement committee. Maya and I already did our initial run through of the area to get a better lay of the land and try to map out where exactly we wanna try setting it up at. I know military is already being divided up for where to go initially once the ground breaking happens and I'm sure all the rest of the job areas are gonna be sorted out too but I reckon that putting out some feelers can't hurt.

I'm looking to see who wants to specifically help out with this one though. I figure we'll all help out with all of them as best we can, but you tend to put in the extra effort and finesse when you're building a place that you're gonna end up calling home. Also figure those that plan on calling it home should get a some say in what the end product is gonna be.

All right, everybody. Good news. I ran on a big patch of wild garlic and onion. That, plus the cattail, is gonna help our case fiercely. But the best news?

I found a big collection of wild blackberry and mulberry brambles. When they get ripe in a couple months, I think we'll be in good shape to try a cobbler.

Been pretty quiet since I got back, sure. But coming back from the dead (basically) to find lots of your friends split - that's really kind of insane. Good news don't mean much either But I'm glad to see all of you. Real glad.

Anyway. I wanted to say I'm sorry for everything that happened. And I wanted to say thank you to everybody that tried to help me.

I remembered a book I read when I was little by this man named Aldous Huxley. And besides all the speculative parts of it (his society doubled in on itself), I remember more reading about him once saying his father said walking in the mountains is like churchgoing. These days, I think I understand the sentiment. Even if it's still cold - I'm happy about it, being out in the wilderness. Feeling like I could melt right into the trees and the shadows. Feeling the generosity of the mountain when it yields up riches for us.

And to think, I probably took enough sap from the big old maples I found to keep us in syrup and other things for a while. Tapping was a skill we never really had at home (didn't have need for it, really) but I wouldn't mind trying to make some molasses out of the dregs of all this. Cause when you got molasses, you got molasses cookies. And with the holidays just passed - well, we're late. But better late than never.

Veronica? You like molasses?

Speaking of holidays, I heard bells a couple times today. Strange, right? But I was probably getting close to one of those Grounder encampments and it makes sense they'd use those bells for communication.

None of this is learning to control powers, I know. But what it is? Learning to be happy in your own skin and the ground under your feet. Right now, I'm satisfied with that.

In the interest of condensing the romantic well-wishes to as small a virtual area as possible, I've created a haven for Valentines Day messages. For those of you who are loud, proud, and uncomplicated, you can sign in with your network handle and password and leave messages for your sweetie and friends. For those of you like me who do better pining from afar, you can also send anonymous messages. I've left two examples open so you can see what it looks like.

All messages (besides the two examples I created) can only be seen by the sender and the recipient. And me, obviously, but I'd rather french-kiss an electric socket than spy on your nausea-inducing flutterings. The Mount Weather Valentines Day cache is open from now until 2/17.

From my time, I remember stories about the resilient people who lived here in these parts a thousand years ago. I just read Christy, really And I always liked hearing about how they banded together to survive. They had all these remedies and instincts they used, scratching life out of land that was sometimes beautiful and sometimes inhospitable.

I feel kind of close to that thought when I'm out in the woods.

Today, I'm going to try tapping some of the maples and birches. I know it's still cold but I figure if I just wait til the middle of the day, I can catch the sap running.

Now that I'm a bit more settled in I thought I'd ask for a bit of help. Dr. Foster and I are attempting to put together a database of all of the universes represented here as well as any supernatural or magical elements that might go along with them. We'd also like to gather as much information about universes that may have once been represented here, but are no longer. I've come up with a survey for individuals to fill out and we will also be canvasing as well.

The hope is that with a better understanding of the magics and supernatural elements found in each universe we may be able to help individuals here. The possibilities across universes is really quite fascinating and there can be some good we can do for our fellow man perhaps.

If I were a proud man my ego would be severely damaged by having my ass handed to me by a seven year old.

I been real quiet lately, I know that.

But that's okay, cause I guess I've been throwing myself pretty hard in my job. I found a place where freshwater clams like to hide out. I also found watercress and forest elder. I even fell in the water but that wasn't a big deal. Just a pretty red nose and a hard run back to the mountain.

But all those things. That's got to be some kind of soup, right?

Fight Club on Friday; same time and place as last time. Let Evie and I know if you're interested. Let's skip having a battle beforehand, yeah? That was ill-advised.

The rules for those of you who are new drop-ins: no props, no weapons, no powers save those you can't help. All levels of experience welcome. First one to go down and stay down loses; the winner goes on to the next round until everyone's had a go. The matches are random so no whinging at me if you don't fancy your partner. First time you cheat, you're out and that's that. Last month's winner was that Russian bloke whose name I can't be arsed to look up to spell properly, but he gets first dibs on his partner. Congrats again, mate.

Thinking of something else, too; see if it drudges up any interest. Anyone without much background in fighting or self-defense - do you want lessons? I could use a project. I'm only human but I learned young, and have practical knowledge of how to get a bruiser off your back. Don't believe in following specific artsy-fartsy styles of fighting much, but I do believe in being able to defend yourself. Drop me a line if this might be something you fancy.

If only every time I wake from a deep sleep, I could have a beautiful redhead standing over me, smiling fondly. It's been quite an interesting evening, I must say. Although I have no memory of it, I'm told I was here before, but for those of you who don't know me, I'm Charles Xavier. Erik, Raven, I'm told you're here, but I'm afraid that my legs have forgotten how to do their job properly, so you'll have to come to me. If you're so inclined, that is.

Maine had some pretty harsh winters, but it was never anything like this. Makes me almost homesick.

Now that gathering has become mostly digging in the dirt and the snow, I gotta tell you I get real excited when I find something that's actually useful. Ginger root, today. That's worth a finger or two, probably, for a little zing to the evening's casserole.

But this flashpan joy - what it continually reminds me is that I spent a lot of time looking back where I was before. I spent a lot of time trying to negotiate a world that didn't want me in it instead of creating my own world around it.

I'm not going to say 'if I ever get back' or something like that. Because how foolish. But what I'm going to say is - time to pull up the big girl panties and look ahead, Rogue. Get your shit together and keep on trucking.
