I wanted to take a moment to thank the Frye's for organizing Fight Club and Commander Shepherd for the training camp that's been so useful to a lot of us in practicing our skills and acquiring new ones. In that line, I was wondering if there'd be any interest in a sort of fight club but with weapons - swords, axes, staves - whatever your close combat weapon of choice is.

We could practice on a semi-regular basis and do a tournament of matches once a month if folks want.

Well, introducing myself does seem the proper thing to do, no matter how unnatural this device seems and so little art to the typeface. I believe this would go much faster with a quill and an inkpot, but I've been told those are but relics of the past.

I am Captain Laurence, of His Majesty's Aerial Corps, though I served in the Royal Navy for close to twenty years before that. Despite flying a Celestial, I confess this world of yours leaves me rather confused. It is as though I've hit my head all over again. I'm sure it will be a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I'll be serving in the military on delta squad.

Good news! I've managed to attach a fairly sizeable bit of bolt to an axe despite having very little training and/or experience with the creation of bolt paper! (Bolt paper is, of course, the electrical sister to fire paper, with which some of you already have experience.) Congratulations, me! I've more testing to do before I release my prototype to our friends in the military, but I thought an update would not go amiss.

Bad news! I've tried to get the smell of singed flesh out of the Toolmaking room with mixed results. Deepest apologies! It's a work in progress.

Just popping in to announce that I've got roller boots and you don't.



Aleck outfitted my boots with wheels yesterday after hauling around some of the musical instruments inside the Mountain and I've decided that walking is for lesser mortals, so from now on - roller boots. They're brill; I never did manage to make it over to the rink they built over in the Strand for this sort of thing, so might as well have it all happening now.

Oh, and quick word of warning - still not sure how to stop. Outside of collision and crashing, which seems to do the job nicely.

That whole sudden jolt of new memories? They're not messing around.
