Why What do you know about Judgment Day?

It's going to be a rough winter. You can tell because there are a lot of acorns. I also saw that the muskrats were digging their holes high up on the river bank, which is another tell that it's going to snow like crazy.

I don't mind winter. It's quiet and white. Snow in the woods is like putting a clean blanket on everything, and prey is easier to locate in the snow.



We should probably make a list of the weak and sickly to consume in the event that we run out of food.

I can't believe I'm about to say any of this, but... here goes.

I've spent the last few weeks coming up with a curriculum for anyone interested in the medical field. We could always use more hands there, especially in a crisis, and there wasn't a program here designed to educate anyone interested in medicine. I'm hoping to change that. Or at least, I am changing that. Whether or not anyone actually wants to do this, I don't know, but I'm hopeful. And if not, it'll be here when you are.

I'm calling this the Mount Weather Medical School. It sounded official.

No one will become a nurse or a doctor in a matter of weeks (unless you were about to sit your exams when you got here, but then you should just talk to Dr. Crusher), so if you're looking for a fast track into medical, you're not going to get it. We have a lot of ground to cover, and I'm not going to go easy on you just because we're in a different world. We need to live up to certain standards, even if it's not Johns Hopkins. But medicine is still an integral part of a healthy community, and this will provide important education for future generations.

If you're interested, come talk to me, and we'll go over whatever previous education you've had to determine where you'll start. This is the best program in the country, and I'm not just saying that because it's my baby.

Gale's gone. If anyone else around here is half-decent at surviving in the wilderness, I could use help teaching the class. There are a lot of students and I'm the only teacher left.

Hey, guys and gals! So, me and Natasha had a chat about what we need to keep everything running smoothly. Seeing that there's no bagel places, can't do bagel Fridays, but! We can definitely get some food bribes going for Friday meetings. Are they mandatory? Nah, and I'm not asking everyone to jump off their shift. We'll keep the deck shuffled on schedule so you can catch at least one meeting here and there.

This has been the craziest week since those Russians I've had in a long time.

I still have no idea how it's possible to have a conversation with Buffy Summers, or learn about werewolves from Harry Potter, but I'm glad I showed up when I did. If you were injured, remember what we told you and take care of yourselves, and let one of us know if you start to feel feverish or your wounds look swollen or red, or they start to hurt more or feel warm to the touch. Or they start draining. I don't want to have to stitch you up again, and I know no one wants to deal with an infection. The sooner we know, the better.

A very old copy of Sense and Sensibility was ripped out of my hands today while I was in the library, by some strange man I have never seen before. He was very, very shouty and he threw it at the wall and now it is ruine. He's ginger, he wore a sort of waistcoat, he had spectacles on. Who is this man?

Hey, everyone! We're organizing a game of Capture the Flag for August 23rd. If you're interested in playing, sign up here, either as an individual or a group if you want to be put on the same team. Otherwise, we're just going to divide people up randomly. We'll take sign ups until the 20th and then we'll split everyone into teams.

For those who have never played, here's the gist:

Two teams are made, and each team given a flag. Each team hides their flag somewhere visible, but easily defensible. To win for your team, you need to capture the opponent's flag and carry it across the border that we'll be setting up for the game. If you have question, you can ask me, Percy, Reyna, Thalia Bianca or Nico. Powers are allowed and everything you need to play will be provided. This isn't just for kids, all ages are welcome and encouraged. It's a lot of fun, but it's also good training, so I hope you'll all consider joining us.

So there is a library, but I feel like I should ask for recommendations, because I don't recognize any of the books. But I miss Tahiri and Jacen and Jaina I could use the distraction, so what is in the library that I should absolutely read?
