My sincerest apologies to anyone who lost a friend yesterday. Something this sudden and this senseless is difficult to mourn. All five passed were Sky People. The Sky People have been more than welcoming to us in the last few months. They opened their home to perfect strangers, they've fed us and given us work and safety. We owe them our lives in most senses of the phrase, and yesterday, many of us failed to save theirs.

This was the result of sabotage, of that I have no doubts. I've taken on more responsibility than most when it comes to the prison, and so I take responsibility for this tragedy as well. We still don't know who opened the door, but we will find out, and we'll ensure that they never get the chance to inflict this on our people again. That's a promise I intend to keep personally.

MILITARY & COMMAND:
Someone opened that door.

I know we're still forming a set of laws and haven't elected leaders for the Pod People specifically yet, but we need something in the interim in the way of sentencing and punishment. And we need guidelines for how to handle prisoners who will neither talk nor are safe enough to release. I'm as against the death penalty as anyone, but we tried it this way, and in this situation, it clearly cost us too much.

So, in case you two haven't figured it out, and I doubt you haven't 'cause you're both smart as fuck, we're not going today. a. Hurricane snd b. I can't turn on my magic powers when I'm drenched. Plus the winds will royally fuck with my navigational system. We'll go after this blows over.

And you should know I kinda suck at the whole emailing people back thing. So yeah, sorry about that. And I've never seen The Princess Bride so I don't have a fucking clue what that movie has to do with the price of tea in China.

So hey, Happy Fourth of July!

Hey, so, it's REALLY nasty out there. Hunt yesterday got washed out, and just looking out the door today... If it wasn't rain, I'd call it a blizzard. I wish Ororo was here to fix it, but oh well.

FOGGY NELSON:
What do I do? Do I cancel the play? James and Remus are both missing, everyone's reeling from what happened, and I don't know if I can reasonably tell everyone to come to rehearsal Tuesday, especially if I find myself looking for another Frederic and another police officer.

Felix is upset about Remus being missing and I can't ask him about this because he's going to think it's not important.

I was doing this so we all had something normal to hang on to. The show has to go on, doesn't it??

Ward pointed out that I didn't express gratitude in my last post, and he was right. I was so caught up in other things that I neglected it. I apologize for that.

To everyone who went up against the werewolf, and who provided care and services in the aftermath: We lost people, but we would have lost more if not for everyone involved, and would have lost more heart as a community if you all hadn't come together the way you did. You are all exceptional. Thank you for your service.

Command + Bellamy Blake, Clarke Griffin, Octavia Blake, Lincoln, Steve Rogers, Carol Danvers:
Only the military faction had enough access to get into the prison, either to rig up or open the doors without being caught, and get out. We know this. I've kept this filter exclusive to you because all of you are either actually in charge or command a certain level of respect, and I'd rather not announce plans to everyone we'll have to be talking to.

We should start questioning people before this hurricane lets up. Sneaking out should be too difficult to be worth it right now. Some people in other jobs were warriors back at home, and if we're questioning our military, we might want to go outside of it to watch us and keep us honest.

I know we have psychics, but we can't go into people's minds without consent. Still, Ward's already agreed to submit to psychic evaluation to prove his innocence, so maybe others will want that option as well if we offer it. Aside from that, do we know anyone here who does this at home? Handles prisoners, susses out lies, something like that? We can't assume the Sky People (or anyone else from a universe without magic or mutants) to agree to being seen by a psychic for this, and it's not a good go-to to start with.

I should say I'm also more than happy to be the first one questioned. You'll have to come to the hospital, Beverly and Simon won't let me leave.

It's been humbling being here this week. A lot of people put their lives on the line for all of us, without us asking them to. I never thought something like this could happen -- being brought here, a werewolf attacking people, none of that. And everyone here really pulls together, and you take care of each other. At home we'd just come out of a war, and it was a long four years. But we all took care of each other, and those boys and a lot of ladies went over to Europe to keep us safe without us asking them to. So, just -- keep doing that. We have to keep doing this, being there, lifting each other up. It's important, because by doing that we affirm who we are and our humanity, because without that, what are we working for?

Today's the Fourth of July, and there aren't any family dinners and parades or fireworks for us to watch. But we do have each other, and a new start, and that's pretty big. I know a lot of you aren't American or aren't even human, but I think that this year, this day is for all of us. And I guess since I can't be at home, I'm happy that I'm here and that I have all of you people here with me.

You know, some of those people who died had families, kids and such. Is there anything we can send over to them? In the neighborhood that I grew up in, when someone died we made sure to bring food over to the family, to be there for them so that they don't have to think about anything but pulling through. I think we need to do that to, even if it's just sending some notes or letters of sympathy, and thanking their families for the service that their loved ones did for us.
