Friday: New Besties

Who: Anna Lauren and Sam, with a cameo by Dax
Where: Dax's party
When: Evening

Anna Lauren wouldn't have thought that this many people could fit in a trailer and its surrounding yard, but evidently the flyers Dax had been putting up around town had had their desired effect. She wasn't entirely sure what she was doing here, because she barely knew the guy. Maybe she could chalk it up to not having anything else to do tonight. She still didn't have a job, and she was bored. So she was wandering around with a cup of beer in one hand, dressed in a tank top and shorts with her bathing suit underneath. She highly doubted that she'd want to swim, but it never hurt to be prepared.

Sam was making up for having sobered up earlier when Asia had gotten into trouble. He wasn't hung up on it, nothing bad had happened and he'd sent Asia on her merry way to interview people at the party so she seemed fine too. Why linger on negative things when there was no need? He had just fired off another text message to Torin to tell him he should totally come when he spotted Anna Lauren. They'd only met that one time but he already had her on a BFF pedestal and with alcohol only intensifying that, he squeaked and rushed toward her. "Oh my God it's my Be eff eff!" he shouted, not giving her much of a chance to brace herself before he'd hugged her, his bottle pressed against her back and some of the - fortunately not too sharp - spikes on his bracelet pressed against her shoulder. "You came," he laughed. "That's awesome!"

Are there rules for bee eff eff marriages? )

Thursday - New Memories

Who: Dax & Asia
When: Afternoon
Where: the Everhart residence
Warnings: Um nudity. But it's non-sexual so idk.

Dax had spent some time deciding on whether or not he wanted to bake cupcakes or buy them. And where exactly he was going to get mass amounts of booze from. His mom's not-so-secret stash had been inventoried already. He'd also convinced a neighbor to show up with a few six packs on the promise that there'd be plenty of attractive women at the party. Truthfully Dax had no idea what kind of turnout he'd get, but there were bound to be some young women there.

He had also decided to attempt to bake his own cupcakes so he could decorate them himself. It sounded fun, and if they came out tasting like shit he could just convince his mom to buy him some premade cupcakes from the grocery store.

He was looking out for her. Dax had always done that, but there were times during the year of 'New Dax' that she wasn't sure if she really mattered as much to him anymore. )

Wednesday - A Very Merry Zombie-versary

Who: Dax and Sam
Where: Mostly the beach and Dax's house
When: Early to late evening
Warnings: NSFW

"Here we are, outside my best friend's place," Sam told his camera, which was unsurprisingly already up and on even as he strolled down to the trailer Dax lived in. "Today Dax celebrates his eighteenth birthday and you bet your ass it'll be in style." He moved back and knocked on Dax's door, grinning into the camera before turning it to the door. "If the world wasn't ready for Dax at seventeen, it sure as hell isn't ready for Dax at eighteen but I can promise you it's going to be a wild ride and I will faithfully record all of it, just for you. "Someone's coming, let's hope it's Dax himself, in the flesh!" He grinned widely when it did turn out to be his friend and not his somewhat timid little sister. "It is he! Our hero. Happy birthday, Dax!"

I'm a one year old zombie now. I deserve a little more action than I've been getting. )

Tuesday: Party Prep

Who: Dax & Anna Lauren
When: late afternoon - post rain
Where: Juicy Java

Dax had waited patiently until the rain had cleared up before putting on a pair of skin tight black jeans, his favorite pair of strappy leather boots, and his hoodie emblazoned across the back with a large inverted pentagram surrounded by pyramid studs. He'd then headed out into town to put up his party flyers. The brightly colored pieces of paper had been printed with all of the pertinent details about his eighteenth birthday party, which he'd scheduled for Friday night. Just to skirt around any troubles with snoopy authorities, he'd left out any info about booze and clothing being optional. The event was lauded as an innocuous pool party with the promise of cupcakes and Wii bowling. Anyone between the ages of fifteen and twenty was welcome to attend.

He was going to be extremely disappointed, however, if there was no festive orgy on Friday night. But those sorts of sordid details would be announced at the safety of the party itself.

Clothes and inhibitions will be completely optional. )

Monday: Ghosts (Incomplete)

Who: Neta and Dax
Where: The graveyard on the island
When: Around sunset

While Neta had felt no real urge to sleep-- which was nothing particularly new; that refuge had been denied her for what felt like an eternity-- her anger had simmered down to mere frustration and lethargic discomfort as the sun came up that morning. She'd gotten her private exploration of the island in the night before, all night, without any need to rest or eat or even find a bathroom.

And then the sun had come up, hot and bright, and had chased her indoors, back to the house she felt somehow tied to. The further she went from it, the more stretched she felt, and with the sun beating down on her and prickling sweat all over her skin, she hadn't the will to resist it. Her shadow-dragon hadn't been as tied to darkness and location as she was, and had been gone most of the day. Another reason to feel down.

And a live 'n! )

Saturday: Pool Challenges

Who: Shoel, Sam, and Dax
Where: Cian's party
When: Night, before blackout

After being soundly defeated by Ava in air hockey, Shoel had gone back to what worked for her: pool. Not the pool, since she still wasn't all that interested in getting soaked while still in her clothes, but pool, the game. She'd already given Ava a good game there-- though Ava had done much better than she'd claimed she would do, too-- and wanted more.

Leaning on her pool cue after a rousing round with one of the drunk jocks who thought they could show the little weird girl what-for at the typically male game, and winning twenty bucks in the bargain, she called out to the rest of the downstairs game room, "Who else wants to try their luck?"

For all I know, you wield special powers over pool tables and these little balls obey your every whim! )

Saturday: Medium Punk

Who: Dax and Shoel
When: Saturday night
Where: Textland and Vapor

Dax had sweet talked his mom into letting him drop her off at work so he could use her car for the night. It hadn't taken much effort at all since the woman was like putty in his hands. She'd do anything for her miracle child, anything at all. Lending him her car was the least she could do.

The evening wasn't planned out, exactly, but Dax had a solid idea of the direction he wanted it to go. It started out with him dressing his sharpest in a black sleeveless dress shirt over a fishnet top and tight leather pants. He grabbed his phone off of his dresser as he tried to pick out which of his three pairs of boots he wanted to wear. Thrift stores, eBay and odd jobs were definitely the friends of his wardrobe.

He typed in a text message to Shoel, who was part two of his evening of fun so long as she was willing to play along. Vapor awaits! I'm picking you up in half an hour.

Let's go, then, punk prince! )

Friday: Cemetery Chat

Who: Dax & Emmaline
When: Night
Where: Shady Rest Cemetery

Dax whistled the tune of a Static X song he had stuck in his head. It always amused him how clearly he could hear a singer's voice belting it out in his mind. It was almost as if Wayne Static himself was giving Dax a private performance. But the mental music wasn't enough to drown out the sound of his combat boots on the sidewalk as he made his way to the cemetery, messenger bag slung over his shoulder and hands in his jacket pockets.

If Dax was particularly lucky, the groundskeepers at the cemetery wouldn't have fixed the gap he made in the fence the week before. The pried open wrought iron bars were partially hidden behind a large tree, but that didn't mean anything. It was actually kind of funny thinking about the groundskeepers wondering how the bars got pried apart in the first place.

Emmaline wasn't sure she liked not being in charge of her own destiny, but she sort of already figured that she wasn't. )
