Sunday - Stuck
Who: Joel and Jane
When: mid-day
Where: Eldritch Island
Mass had been ... well, mass, and it had sort of soothed Joel's soul. He hardly listened to the litanies anymore, and he wasn't actively searching for some golden truth. It just felt good to be there in the presence of God. Especially with his sister by his side. It was a singularity. He didn't really know where his other siblings -- besides Turlough -- stood as far as their spirituality went, but Jane seemed keen enough to attend church regularly. So they'd met up at the ferry and gone.
Now everyone was filtering out, and Joel already had a cigarette tucked between his lips when the two McDonnells stepped outside. He lit it as soon as they were a little bit away from the rest of everyone, and glanced over at his newfound sister. "So ahh ... lunch, or anythin'?"
( You're going to die an early death, you know. )
