Happy winter solstice everybody! Time for darkness to fall at like 3 pm! Well I guess happy solstice to everyone that cares about the solstice... I do! So happy solstice!

For those that celebrate how do you celebrate? Last year I got buried in snow by my brother, that was fun.

Does anyone know any good bakeries? I would like to purchase some cakes for this time of year. Preferably vanilla cake with a buttercream frosting, but a variety would be nice.

I'd also like to know if there are any recommendation for metal polish. With Sato not here, I'm afraid I've taken him for granted with how well he took care of my suit and the abilities he gave it.

My dearest Aunt Cassiopeia has insisted on hosting a celebration, of which I have deemed small and intimate, in honor of my accomplishments at the school. I realize it is the holiday season and that there are many events and activities being had all at once, but I would be most grateful if you would be in attendance. Perhaps a brunch on Saturday or hor d'oeuvres and brandy in the evening. I'll leave the particulars up to you, Aunt Cassi.

Lucius and Narcissa, you are more than welcome to bring baby Belladora. Andromeda, should your daughter like to be in attendance as well, she would be most welcomed among us.

Anyone else looking forward to Christmas?

So seeing as Christmas is just around the corner, I've organised a little something at my library for the kids. The library is already getting a bit of a makeover, with trees being put up and decorations and all that, I've got the Christmas stories more prominently displayed, and as Christmas gets closer I'm going to be dressing up as Santa and reading to the kids, because there are some kids here that don't have their parents which is pretty bad. And there are also kids here that do have their families here but I just thought it'd be nicer for them.

So Santa will be coming to the library to read to the kids and hand out gifts. I'm going to be randomly choosing children's books that they miss from home, nothing bigger than that. I know words, I know books, so it shouldn't be hard.

I just thought it'd be a nice thing to do for kids who are missing their families and something for kids in general to have to celebrate Christmas a bit better. I used to do this sort of thing at hospitals, but since we don't really have that kind of thing here (which I'm glad about don't get me wrong) I just want to make sure that they know Santa can come to Preya, too.

Let me know if anyone wants to collaborate with me on this, I'd really love to make this as magical as possible. Pun slightly intended.

My goodness, I have been so busy at The Raven's Quill lately with Christmas coming up, and this sale has brought in so much business. Make sure you get your orders in before the fifteenth of the month to ensure we can deliver it prior to the big day.

How do I become an Auror again?

You'll be happy to know some of you more than others that after a very productive conversation with the professors of the Potions Department as well as the Head Administrator that I've been granted a permanent teaching position at the school to begin at the commencement of the next semester in January. By far, all those whom I shadowed and assisted during my time here have spoken overwhelmingly highly of me, as naturally they should, and more than willingly recommended me for the position to the administration.

As far as what my duties entail, I will be teaching Basic Potions to the youngest students, and I am also to be the faculty adviser for the Potions Club. I've come to realize whilst here in Preya that despite my character, which some might consider to be stiff and unyielding amongst other unflattering things , I am still able to appeal to the young ones in a way that will make education something other than a tedious exercise or necessity. In other words, I'm rather good at it. Explaining things in different ways has always been a bit of a forte for me, and I am pleased that the young ones have taken to my teaching methods and to my occasional bouts of wisdom with such fervor.

I hope to be able to do much more than simply teach. I hope to inspire the youth of today's age and to motivate them against committing the same mistakes of the past.

I know everyone is still flipped out about Halloween, but I gotta ask... why is hospital food always so bad? I mean... maybe I just miss Haru's cooking and they won't let me eat all the things I want to and I got in trouble after everyone left because I had snacks. Still bad. I wanna go home. I feel fine, but I guess they wanna be really sure before they let me go.

Is everyone else better now? Did I miss anything interesting at school or did we even have class?

What would the best place to find real estate in Ravenmoore be? The Newspaper, a website, or directly through someone in a real estate agency?

Okay, okay. Help a guy out, here. I know somewhere here, someone has got to already have Christmas shit out. It's like the law of the universe that certain kinds of stores will bring out Christmas stuff in like July, practically. Anyone seen any yet? I'm gonna need some candy canes, stat.

I just had a weird thought.

You know how like people keep disappearing, but like no one is supposed to be able to leave? And like none of the authorities want to really say anything about it, but like, we've all left home for here and it's been like years, and I mean, I didn't think magic was really like, for real back home, but that doesn't mean it wasn't. Like maybe I just never saw it, you know? But here's what I was thinking, like what if the reason people disappear here really doesn't have anything to do with someone doing something here? What if it's like people from back home finding ways to call us back home? You know, like the whole summoning demons thing that witches can do, or whatever, what if someone's summoning people back? I mean, like, has anyone here been home and had someone disappear on them, and then they came here and oop, surprise, they were in Preya the whole time! I mean this is like some crazy shit, and I don't know how any of it works, so how do we know any of this is going down like we thought?

So if anyone wasn't aware, the woman behind the local art gallery has vanished. I would have thought that giving back to the community in such a way would have kept her safe from being taken, but it seems like the local powers that be had different ideas.

But my grumbling aside, I currently have access to the building and for the next three months, the rent is paid. I am considering going ahead with the opening and accepting further submissions as long as there is interest. So, if you're at all interested in having a gallery that is dedicated to local art, both professional and amateur, please let me know.
