Riley was super excited. Beyond super excited - the kid had been practically vibrating with excitement ever since they'd got on the monorail with Riven to head for the surface, clinging onto Kyle's hand and talking ten to the dozen about what he wanted to do and see and all the fun they were going to have.

Kyle was thankful for a break when they finally got Riley onto the kid's carousel, standing back as the music started and the whole thing began to rotate. Looking over at Riven, he said, "I hope he's not too much..."

Hi - I was going to take Riley to the theme park today. Did you want to come with? Adam's working and I don't think I'm ready to single parent. Well - you know what I mean.

Where: Spa: Nail Salon

Riven had been thrilled to get invited to the spa even before arriving there, but nothing had prepared her for the laundry list of inclusions attached to the invitation. She was pretty sure it would've cost a boatload back home, way out of her price range, so she might as well live it up while she had the chance. She started the day in the gym, followed by aerobics and yoga before she finally cleaned up. After that she wanted to pamper herself and scheduled a variety of services, including a mani-pedi for herself and Kyle. Because she was sure she could talk him into it.

Fortunately, it took no work at all and she settled into the chair after ordering herself a glass of champagne. "I'm going to be thanking you for this for weeks," Riven smiled, looking over at Kyle.

Are you fucking kidding me?! I'm done. I'm done with this place. With the fear-mongering. With the destruction. With everything.

Who: Riven and Zeke
Where: The Park

Riven had been working on a mixed media sculpture set for months, three pillars of wood and glass that was supposed to go in the park. Her progress had slowed to a crawl when her mood darkened, but the fire in the park spurred her into action once more. She'd been debating the colors and their arrangement, but now it came to her quickly and she finished the project in record time. Once she was done, all she had to do was move the pieces from her pod to the park and bolt them to the ground. It was easier said then done. She found herself working with cement, digging holes to fill and create an anchor. It hadn't occurred to her how much work it would take to put them on display, but she would manage.

It took her hours to get the first pillar in place and she was covered with dirt by the time she was done. Riven stood back and looked at it, smiling. She'd cut the wood to slide thick stained glass down the center, all hues of blue. The sun shined through it, lighting up the grass, and she couldn't wait to get the other two up, one rainbow and one red. It was a perfect little memorial, a reminder that they were one, even if they were different.

Well...this is going to be interesting... I.. good graffiti I guess

Setting: Kyle's Pod

Kyle might have done more than a little prep work before he’d sent the message to Riven. His pod was spotless, for a start. Or, well, clean at least. And he’d tidied up the worst of his messes. His art supplies were still all over the place, but now they were neatly all over the place.

He really obvious fact about his pod though was that Kyle was prolific. It was like someone had taken the chains off him and all he’d done since then was work. Canvasses were stacked against every wall, large and small. He’d experimented with different mediums and colour palettes. The only major constant was that the majority of Kyle’s work was abstract. He liked dealing with emotion and feelings, rather than reality. Even when a subject was identifiable, the piece would have a dreamlike quality to it.

So... remember when you said that you wouldn't mind coming over to look over some of my work and tell me if it was any good? I have a pitcher of iced tea and a batch of cookies I made this morning if you might be free today. Tempted?

Where: The Park

By the time all the decorations were up, the park had been transformed into a piece of Bourbon Street, complete with crowds of people looking to party. Lights were strung between the trees with the occasional banner indicating a drink stand or a food cart, adding to the atmosphere. There was even a dance floor in one corner with music piped in from unseen speakers. The only things missing were the balconies to throw beads from, but that didn’t stop beads from being handed out or the occasional flash to earn them. It was as close to New Orleans as they were going to get, but they didn’t need the parades to make it a party.

Riven’s pod had become her art studio and, as a result, it was a complete disaster. She had a slew of paintings in one corner, some finished, some not, waiting for her to return to them. She had the sculpture that she was working on for the park on the other side of the room, abandoned since her breakup with Blake. And in the center of the room, her current project, were the masks for the Mardi Gras party, along with the supplies for Kyle’s wings. Paper mache had taken over the kitchen. Riven sat in the middle of it all, putting the finishing touches on a beautiful blue and turquoise peacock mask. She thought she had more glitter on her hands than the mask, but that always seemed to be the case when working with glitter.

Setting: All around the Nest

Kyle had been baking. It had been something that he was in the mood for when he woke up that morning and it wasn’t until nearing lunchtime that he realised that he had far more baked goods than he would possibly ever be able to eat himself. He had piles of white chocolate rocky road. He was sure he hadn’t set out to make quite that much, but he did tend to lose himself when he was enjoy creating something.

After a moment or two of consideration, he decided he was just going to have to give it away. Presentation was important, of course, which was how he’d ended up with a basket full of neat little parcels. He added a name tag to each one, which simply said, Have a sweet day, Love Kyle.

He felt much more satisfied as he set out, working his way round the neighbourhood, leaving a gift at each door as he went.

Who: Sion and Riven
Where: the store, then Sion's pod

Maybe because he'd been working out even more than usual the past few days, Sion was having some fairly intense cravings for pie. Specifically, pie like the ones they'd had at that Thanksgiving dinner. The thing to do probably would have been to go to that diner and see if they had any, but since when did Sion do things the easy way? He'd gotten into his head that he wanted to try his hand at making a pie, so he was at the store trying to find the ingredients. Making crust by hand? Nope. He knew better than to think he could handle that, so he'd put a deep-dish pie shell into his basket. Those were good. Anything he tried to make would likely turn out as an unidentifiable lump of dough.

Now he was looking over cans of pie filling, humming under his breath as he debated between cherry and apple. There was blueberry too, but he wasn't much of a blueberry fan.

Who: Riven and Cade
Where: The Park

After finishing three separate pieces that could only be described as depressing and dark, Riven realized she had to do something about all the negative energy surrounding her. It wasn’t just her pod, which was a disaster, but inside her head. She’d been moping and drinking in excess, which led to hangovers that induced more moping, and she had to break the cycle. It was why she was in the park that morning, forcing herself to do yoga with a hangover. Hopefully water, painkillers, and a few deep breaths would put her on the right track again.

Cade was fascinated with the place. New Eden was pretty high tech with all it’s wandering robots to take care of the place. The only thing it seemed to be missing was the awesome parties and hot girls, but he was going to give the place time to get right with that. He had, after all, just arrived and all he had really done was to get comfy in his dome that looked almost straight out of The Jetsons cartoon, as did the ‘vehicles’ that were provided. Very futuristic indeed.

After getting settled in his pod, he headed out in search of Sage. He hadn’t asked the robots about him, yet, but that was on his list of things to do if he didn’t find him on his own. First, he was going to test his sleuthing skills, which were interrupted by a woman doing yoga in the park.
