New Eden - City of Tomorrow!

I feel like you have to be looking for an ideal mate to answer these questions. And what if the answer is 'I don't care'? That doesn't really fit into always, sometimes, and never.

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Dean Conway and I have been tasked with ensuring the architectural stability of the city. Which is a flowery way of saying that I've been brought here to make sure that it stays standing.

Given that New Eden seems to have been constructed to a far higher spec than most modern cities, I don't think that is going to be much of an issue, but there are a couple of things that I want to bring up.

Firstly, after the somewhat unexpected robot attack the other day, if people have damage to their pods, could they let me know and I'll ensure that everything is fixed.

Secondly, I'm looking for volunteers to help me on an exploratory mission - I want to go down from the islands (main and residential) to investigate how they're held up from the lake below. I'm looking for people with useful skills - climbing, abseiling, construction - we will be going over the side and I don't have the time or the skill set myself to be able to teach people unless it's absolutely necessary. I would also prefer this to be a manned expedition. I do not want to be reliant on robot assistance for this. We need to know what's down there.

Jayden practically fell out of bed as the alarm started going off, blinking against the flashing lights. The reason for the alarm evaded him, but panic came before logic and he ran out of his bedroom in his boxers, attempting to locate the reason for the alarm. From the living room he could see that the lights were everywhere, flashing throughout the entire nest, but even from his balcony he couldn't see why.

The sound of something thunking hard against the glass made him jump and he hurried down the stairs to see what was happening. As he passed the kitchen, he grabbed a frying pan. If someone was breaking into his pod, he might as well try and defend himself. The sight of the robot, though, made him freeze in his steps. "Hey!" he shouted as he swung it's arms again, this time causing the glass to crack. "Stop that!" From behind him, another large object hit the glass and he turned to see two more robots attacking the pod from another angle.

Seconds later the glass shattered and Jayden took a step back, raising the frying pan like a baseball bat. "Help!" he yelled to anyone out there who might be listening.

Jayden had started recording the second he set foot on the boat. He knew he had far too much footage for the first day, but it was hard to put the camera down for even a second. Every corner that they turned seemed to have a surprise waiting for him, from the dome, to the theme park, to the monorail that awaited him. The robot waiting for him at the end was just the icing on the cake, his laughter the soundtrack to accompany that particular interaction. It was just too much, too wild, like Disney's Land of Tomorrow on steroids. There was so much to look at that Jayden couldn't put the camera down, even as he wandered towards his pod. His pod! How trippy was that? He was almost giddy as he wandered through The Nest, imagination running wild with what this trip could mean for him and his future.
