Hey, robot-smashing machine neighbor: apparently we're supposed to get dinner. I don't know your whole deal in all this but a couple things you should know about me:

No one told me I could just have the computers just plan my dates for me. This is great.

Mazie fell straight out of bed at the first sound of the alarm. It wasn't graceful, but Mazie didn't do anything gracefully. Covering her ears with a pillow she grabbed off the bed, the blaring lights and sounds covered up her string of curse words as she stumbled straight to her computer. Hesitating, she finally abandoned the pillow in favor of some vigorous typing, trying to isolate and disarm the alarm.

It didn't work.

Fuming now, Mazie grabbed her headphones from the corner of her monitor and threw them on, the noise-canceling quality helping to deafen the alarm somewhat. She was going to find the source of this alarm and kill it even if she had to do it the old fashioned way. But as she went to leave her pod, she spotted robots. Three robots, smashing their metal robot arm things into her pod. "You're got to be fucking kidding me..."

She could see Gizmo sitting idly in the corner, so she knew MABEL hadn't somehow managed to take back all the headway she'd gained, but she didn't feel comfortable with the fact that these other robots were going bonkers. So, she decided it was time for a little Mazie vs. Evil Dead Robots action. Just, with less chainsaws.

With a heavy-duty wrench in one hand and a pillow-shield in the other, Mazie lifted her wrist communicator and tapped quickly into it to try a broadcast to the other members of her pod. "Wanna see me kick some robot ass?"

Micah wasn't good in social situations. He hung the corners, held tight to his bag and tried to blend in, but beyond looking the part, he didn't really pull it off. He gotten a drink, then realized how many other people were drunk and focused on that instead, trying to order unwanted waters and hand them off to people who really, really needed them. Eventually he'd found a booth against the wall to slump into, beer in hand, watching the crowd. Sometimes he wished he was better at this. At making friends, at enjoying a social situations and not just thinking about how he'd be better off at work. Maybe if Haru was around...but he'd not seen the man at all. Maybe he'd found another corner to hide in or not bothered to come at all.

Setting: Exodus



Sure, the thing was a bit weird, but Ryker didn't care in the slightest. Exodus was fully stocked, the lights dimmed just right, and his DJ stand was set up perfectly. He kind of like the feel of the charm bracelet on his wrist, pleased with the subway token and DJ equipment charms he'd been given. He almost didn't want to give them away.

One song rolled into another, the deep bass came out of the speakers and subs in a way that he could feel in his bones, even if he was only listening in the headphones he was wearing. Required attendance or not, he was determined to make sure at least people had a soundtrack for a good time.

Who: Lian and Haru
Where: The Central Park; evening

Lian had made it to her pod and lasted there for a good hour, tearing through every nook and cranny to ensure that no one was lying in wait for her. When she was reasonably satisfied that no one was going to murder her in her sleep, Lian decided to explore her surroundings a bit more. The flickering lights weren't going to keep her away.

She'd suited up with a few more of her items, donning a locket ring for nearly every finger and each filled with a different powder, and doubling the simple metal hair pins that held her bun up. Enough that if she were to get into a scrap, she'd have something to defend herself with. And then she was back out of the pod in search of what this place actually was.

She'd made it all the way to the park before she decided to take a break. Sitting on top of a nearby picnic table, she looked up toward the ceiling and exhaled. "What am I doing here..."

Setting: Haru's Pod, just after the lights come on again

Micah was half dead on his feet when he headed towards Haru's pod. He'd stayed where he was until the lights came back on, occasionally pacing the pods, watching out for danger, but not getting any sleep. At least no one had really been hurt. He'd hesitated at going to Haru's, but the man had invited him and he felt bad not going. Plus, and it hurt him to admit it, but he wanted to see the man.

When he got to the pod, he knocked on the door, looking through the glass and catching a glimpse of his reflection in it. He tried to smooth his hair, make it look less like he'd been running his hands through it and adjusted the bag on his shoulder. At least the the dark blue scrubs he had on didn't look as wrinkled as he felt.

Who: Ethan and OPEN
Setting: Well, he's not sure. He was on his way home. So near his pod.

Ethan had gone off looking for supplies, grumbling about not having yet found a robot that would just bring his groceries to him. He'd found a thing that looked like a scooter, which was kind of cool. It moved around on a battery sort of thing, which made it easy to get to a store, then back. Or well, most of the way back when the lights went out. He stopped the scooter before he ran into something and stood there for a long moment. "Are you fucking fucking me?"

Setting: The main courtyard in the center of the Nest

The moment the lights flickered, Micah frowned. He waited, watched them flicker again and got up from where he'd been sitting in the doctor's lounge. That definitely was something he needed to address. There wasn't much going on most days, which meant he'd packed the go-bags when he was bored. He went to the closet they were stored in, opening each one and checking the contents. Pleased that they were properly packed, he set three of them on the counter. Then he sent out a message to the other two medical team members and the rest of the 'net before grabbing his bag. He dug around until he found a few flashlights, setting the two spares with the bags, putting his in the third bag and waited.

When the power flickered again, he looked up, counting to five before it didn't come back on again. He grabbed his bag and flashlight, then headed out of the hospital. It was a great place and all, but if he was harder to get to, and his equipment wasn't working, it was no use to him. He could do plenty in the field. That was the perk of being an ER doctor anyway.

The walk was eerie in the half light, and much longer than Micah would have liked, but he made it to the center courtyard in the Nest, dropping on a bench to rest for a moment and half set up shop. Or at least wait until he was called upon.

This place isn't what I was told it would be.

All citizens get the announcement on their wrist communicator. The center park has been decked out with grills, picnic baskets, etc. There are robot party clowns around, a few stray robot dogs, etc. There's music playing, and different stations to play some simple carnival games. There are prizes as well for the winners, including stuffed animals of varying sizes, coupons for the various businesses in New Eden and other trinkets.

Drinks are flowing very freely as well, with free beer being the main attraction.

For something claiming that we should not be alarmed, that was an alarming amount of exclamation marks.
