Does anyone have any mosquito repellent?

I didn't see any in the camp store, though there does seem to be quite the assortment of other items, several of which don't seem to have any place at a camp like this.

Captain Groot, Captain of the Space pirate ship I am GROOT looked around him, his hands on his hips. His ship had been on their way to Kashyyyk to meet with Fist Mate Chewbacca of the Millinum Falcon and it's captain, notorious smuggler Han Solo who had some contraband that they wanted to sell to them. The passage was going smoothly until they stumbled into a trap set by the notorious Admiral of the Fleet Bill Adama who was determined to capture and eradicate all Pirates from the space surrounding the Twelve Colonies.

"I AM GROOT!" he bellowed at the crew of his ship. First Office Rocket swerved sharply to avoid the fire coming from Galactica, taking them into a spinning dive.

Quill was the last one to arrive at his station, grumbling as he did so. I AM GROOT. i AM GROOT">.

"Yes Captain Groot," Gamora said readying the weapons to fire on the aft side of the ship, if necessary while her sister Nebula did the same on the port side.

Having been presented with the opportunity to select a new block in which to live, I have chosen to remain in Lima block, because it is, without questions, the superior block.

That is all.

I'm not sure I understand how this happened.

But it's really hot now.

And it feels like we're in some old Western movie?

As Barbara mentioned, right now the library seems to be suffering a shortage of books that aren't directly related to philosophy, published before 1870 or [...] novelizations of Everyone Loves Raymond and The Golden Girls -- which if anyone would like to borrow Golden Girls books, they're going to have to ask Wade Wilson to return.

We mean to petition the scientists for more books, but it's important to us that we ask for books that you - as a community - would like to read. Therefore we've created a short survey for anyone interested to fill out. Once we get a fair number, I'll bring the list to Echo.

In addition, I'd love it if anyone would like to talk to us about the books they love and why.

[OOC: Since characters are from a number of different worlds and realities, some, none or all the books a character lists on their form can be made up.]

These are distraction.

I've found myself thinking lately of all the places I always intended to go - places I had always assumed I would one day visit. I have never been to Coruscant. I have never traveled to the tombs in the orbits of Yavin or Endor. I've never seen Byss, or Eriadu. Of course I never had time for non-essential excursions, and was unceremoniously removed from my situation before I had the opportunity to reclaim some of these places - or indeed even to render them accessible to those of us who used to belong there - but all the same, I regret it. They are important places. The galaxy is full of them.

And now, a turn in the library is a venture.

I would like to see something for my own interest. I've spoken to some of the other council members about the idea of reducing the number of squads, and allowing for two representatives from each of the reduced squads to serve on the council, due to the fact so many in our ranks have recently disappeared.

Changing squads totals and organisations would require constitutional amendments, and this post is not for those arguments. Instead, I just want to see:

Find your name on the list and put yourself into one of these six squads. If you had complete control, who would you want to be with? You can discuss it in this post, if there are logistics to work out, but I want to see what everyone would want, had they the choice.

My father was an instructor, by training. That was his profession. He was the commandant of one of the most prestigious academies in our galaxy. He knew his trade. In what he did, he was among the very best. My first memories of him, and my last, were lessons. Whatever I thought of those lessons, whatever chasm lies between what he intended to convey and what I ultimately absorbed, they made me the man I am today. The value - or the impact, at least - of training cannot be overstated. Where we come from, those who shaped us: they ought not to be denied. Reckoning with them only strengthens us. One's past can never be built from lies, any more than one's home can be built from dust.

Have fun at archery.

As we face the disappearance of so many of our fellow inmates, I take this opportunity to mark the loss (well, the absence) of one man in particular. His accomplishments were unparalleled - in the field, at least, of treason - and his persistence was the stuff of legend, for people, at any rate, who enjoy legends about spiteful self-obsession. He was proof for an entire generation after his passing that one man could, if only he set his mind to it, spread his capricious brand of destruction posthumously throughout the galaxy. To my knowledge no entity has ever bestowed awards for the most deleterious influence spurred on by the pettiest incitements, but I say without reservation that Galen Erso would have been a most worthy honoree, leastways for that definition of honor, a word with which he was admittedly unfamiliar. It is with great sorrow that I reflect on how I will never again see him stranded in a muddy, humid, buggy waste; nor forced to do idiotic tricks for infernal spectators; nor murdered in a miserable ruined hotel; nor subjected to a death lottery; and so on, and so forth. My only consolation, bittersweet though it may be, is that I know this: in at least one universe, he lies well and fully decomposed beneath the crushing weight of a great deal of duracrete rubble bearing the Imperial insignia.

And so, somehow, I will carry on.
