Incomplete Data: A panfandom, multi-world RP.

The “Block Party” was a great success, and I would personally like to thank Darcy Lewis for her work in organizing the affair, as well as all those who participated in supplying food or entertainment.

Such a wonderful display of community, patriotism and fellowship left me thinking. As a group, we except a great deal of survive from our Council and our Jury. These taxing positions are all too often thankless, and the time and energy is hardly every fairly compensated with gratitude. It is for this reason that I would like to propose a dinner party, for those on the Council and the Jury. It would be an evening to celebrate the freedom of democracy, and a way to give back to those who do so much for us all.

I would like to host it this weekend at the Ballroom. Any help would be appreciated.

You know well, my friends, that I am reluctant to speak even in ordinary times. But now, as we approach the final hours remaining in our construction project, with the machine still unfinished, I find that I am compelled to speak to my convictions.

I would like to call upon the men and women of Hotel to stand together in this time of trial and reflection. Whatever happen with the machine, whatever the consequence to ourselves and the others, whatever come our way, I must implore you to stand beside your brothers and sisters in the coming days. Whether we finish the machine or not finish it, whether it work or does not work, there will be those who cast blame upon us for whatever may come. There will be those who asks us to turn against each other, to speak ill of each other, to aid in their attempt to cast doubt on our efforts and on our character. And we must not join them. We must resist.

We must each of us remember that we did not create this problems. We did not choose this project. We did not choose this life, or this place, or this world. We did not choose to be given this power, and we did not choose to keep power from others. And they may hate us, but we will not allow each other to be blamed for the actions of other men.

We are innocents in this. We have become the subject of false blame by powerful men. Men who do not understand us or our circumstances. Men who threaten us from their suites as we sweat and toil and suffer in our cells below. Men who probably sent cats to pee in our shoes, which is very immature by the way and I do not know how he even manage Men, who through a series of infinite provocations, betraying with a supreme fraud the population of our institution, who wanted a war and have prepared for it day by day with diabolical obstinacy.

While we are asked to go without water or food as we walk from town to town, while we are locked in cages, while we are forced to dig our own graves and engage in physical labor that has never been required from others -- we have done and continue to do far more than anyone should have expected from us, and we should be proud of what we have accomplished here. What we have managed to do together, despite incredible odds. We are workers -- warriors -- who have struggled to survive under impossible circumstances that the others will never truly know. And I say to you, and you will understand, that it is a privilege to fight alongside each of you.

Whatever the others will say about us, whatever they try to do, we must continue to stand together. We must not fall to in-fighting, or cede to outside influence that calls upon us to betray our brothers. We are the men and women of Hotel block. We will no longer be the voiceless and downtrodden. Instead, we will rise together to secure our place in this world that has fought to keep us down. With our recent victory in the election of district 12, we have made ourselves known. Together, we will continue to defy the systems that have betrayed us and we will find the power within ourselves to stand strong against the oncoming current.

But in order to do this, in order to succeed, we must be united. We must never acquiesce. For it is together that we prevail, and divided that we will perish.

Max Eisenhardt has just petitioned the Jury and Council to prosecute any one of us who does not work hard enough on machine.

There is no vote on this yet, they are all still talking.

There has been a lot of talk about whether or not we ought to be building these machines. Who they will benefit, who they won't, if we'll finish or not, who might control it once it's done -- even if it will do what Hotel says it will.

But there hasn't been a lot of talk about the fact Hotel block is doing all this work that could do great things for all of you, without very much support. We're having to barter with ourselves for motivation -- but what 's fair about it? Maybe you can't build these yourselves, but nothing is stopping you from making the burden easier for those that have to work.

So where exactly does one get these powers everyone keeps talking about? I'm afraid I don't know all that much about magic. It's a rather forbidden subject where I'm from. I must admit I am a bit jealous of everyone that gets to fly. I just wonder, how does it work without wings?

Alright. So we've lost more than a few people. That's gonna make building this device harder than it already was. Maybe that's the point, to dangle something they know we want desperately right in front of our noses--whether that's just the chance for some control over being constantly at their mercy or just the chance to feel fully like we were meant to be again. Maybe this is upping the stakes and trying to make sure we fail. But we're not gonna do that.

So what we're all gonna have to do is pull together and do more work. For us, for everyone here.

For those of you asking what's in it for you, increasing our talents to survive your likelihood of survival. Here we've got shelter, resources, some semblance of leisure time. But that ain't always gonna be the case. We could go anywhere--space, untamed jungles, the arctic, the sewers under ancient Rome, fucking candy mountain for all we know with next to nothing at our disposal. (In fact, given that dickwad who runs us, we'd probably get dropped with a raging case of giardia and a balloon sword for our efforts.)

And while none of us are unskilled, even without powers, I don't think anyone of us say honestly that we could survive alone in every single environment these assholes could throw at us. You help this like you ought and I will personally make sure this block is provided for if we get to one of those harsher worlds. If I don't know an environment which is unlikely, I'm pretty far travelled in the timeline and a couple galaxies, I can damn well find someone who will. You want to survive through the unknown, there's gonna be times you need to lean on others that know it. If we're signaling we're not trustworthy enough to lean back on I wouldn't blame any single person for remembering that for a long time.

And sure, I've got powers. I've got family here that've got powers. But this isn't just about that.

I'm glad everyone has such enthusiasm for democracy. We got a rather fascinating submission for a flag design, if anyone else would like to contribute alternate ideas. It's at the end of a rather long queue, so you have a bit of time.

I ain't sure about the rest of ya but I'm real tired of having part of me cut off without my consent. I reckon people don't seem to realize its akin to losing your sight or a limb even when our abilities suddenly ain't there anymore.
