So this is the kind of stuff that happens around here. Animal cages and people being punished for who knows what. And councils and juries that mean nothing in the end because they say the people didn't die because they're alive again. And we all know that it takes a lot out of you to come back from death.

Personally, I'd rather just spend the final evening of Hanukkah with my friends, but since the Hunger Games — or whatever happened to Betsy — the numbers keep dwindling. I keep finding myself hanging with Rogue and Magn Max. Do you maybe want to light a candle with me and go for a walk in the park?

i let the animals out the night of the ball, because i thought they’d attack the scientists and then we could get away. i stole amos’ wire-cutters and talked river into coming with me to watch out.

i was stupid and proud, and it got everyone else in trouble. no one deserved to be punished but me.

I can officially mark "catching a monkey" off my bucket list. It's a lot easier than catching a lot of other things I've had to catch, in hindsight. But I still don't ever want to do it again.

So Hanukkah begins tomorrow night at sundown. I'm going to set up a menorah in the Romeo common room because it's big, and comfortable, and I figure we could all get together there for a little bit. Absolutely everyone is welcome, for sure!

I also thought, in the spirit of the holiday, maybe we could spend tomorrow getting some food together and after the candle is lit we could bring some out to the people still in cages? I put in an order last week for a few things, so we can make Sufganiyot and a couple other things.

You're needing to be on the lookout for snow leopards, snow monkeys, penguins, red pandas, anything in the tropic zone (too many to list), grizzlies, sea lions, cows, sheep, goats, ducks, pigs and owls.

This is not much different than what I am used to in the winter. I've been living in New York for quite some time. Upstate, but we take frequent visits to the city.
