How would you complete this, or a grammatical approximation of this, sentence:

[ SPACE FILTER ]
I've never really understood the human fascination with space exploration. I get why people were so enthralled with it before they knew what it was - singing spheres, sky monsters, actual heaven, that sort of thing - and I guess I can see why you might want to slip the surly bonds of an earth so thoroughly populated with shitty, shitty people. The fantasy escapist element is there. But now you know what it is: a whole lot of nothing (well, not nothing, but a whole lot of stuff that's just as good as nothing, seriously, stop barking up this dark matter tree, it's not that interesting) littered sparingly with a few somethings that are far enough away that you'll never get there in one lifetime, anyway. Do you think they're not full of shitty, shitty people? You saw the moon. It was literally empty. And then you wet back, like, a lot of times. What's the deal?

on bright summer days, when you'd draw
the world through your eyes
into shapes i'll no longer see
late through the night, when i'd write
of countless regrets into reprise
words you'll now never hear

we both use lines, sharp, heavy,
rough like your hand in mine
or the football forgotten on the field
soft as the kiss we snuck under the bleachers
trying to draw it out long but we're
always cut short
by oceans of ice and time and teachers

but lines all come to an end.
unless you take the edges
and make them bend
into a loop where you and i
can meet again
on bright summer days

--

sorry. no autographs.

I don't know what kind of trick this is. I was SO CLOSE to getting to the castle. This isn't the first time I wound up somewhere else on this journey, and I'm not falling for it again. Where is my brother?

As Barbara mentioned, right now the library seems to be suffering a shortage of books that aren't directly related to philosophy, published before 1870 or [...] novelizations of Everyone Loves Raymond and The Golden Girls -- which if anyone would like to borrow Golden Girls books, they're going to have to ask Wade Wilson to return.

We mean to petition the scientists for more books, but it's important to us that we ask for books that you - as a community - would like to read. Therefore we've created a short survey for anyone interested to fill out. Once we get a fair number, I'll bring the list to Echo.

In addition, I'd love it if anyone would like to talk to us about the books they love and why.

[OOC: Since characters are from a number of different worlds and realities, some, none or all the books a character lists on their form can be made up.]

Hi, I'm Will Robinson.

I'm 11 years old.

I'm supposed to be on the Jupiter II with my family. We're part of the next colonization group.

I guess I'm here now though.

Rey's been helping me out.

There aren't any robots here, are there?

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! Actually you don't have to given we have already I just wanted to say that!

Seriously though. I've noticed a heap of new people which is interesting and I ran into someone who had been here and never left but had no memories of being here either! Oops run on sentence. My bad.

People have probably mentioned that already but I might have missed it?

Anyway! Hi new people! I'm Kamala Khan or Ms Marvel if you're fancy. Kamala is fine. I'm stretchy and can morph and I write fanfic and I get excited easily! Hi :D

So hopefully those who are new have been more or less caught up to speed over the past 48 hours. But we should all check in to verify who is still here, and who's new. New people can ask what questions they still have.

It seems like they've shuffled rooming, but beyond that, we should see what other differences we can suss out.

I'm going to say something that -- probably -- most of you will have some kind of ethics problem with, and that's fine. But maybe -- just maybe -- if we talk about it we could potentially hit on why we're still here and what being stuck in directionless limbo like this means:

If you could conduct a social experiment on a group of unwilling participants, what would you want to test and why? There are no wrong answers, and if you want to clutch your pearls, you can. Just clutch them to yourself, because I don't care.

I understand, at least something better, that there are many universes that all exist at same time. But could some of you from other places explain to us why you are so knowing of this fact? I am not sure it is something which I understand.

I WON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO ME UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND.

Or until whenever the next Spider-Man movie comes out, if you ask Celine Dion. And Val's mom.

WHO MIGHT ALSO BE CELINE DION.

So all of these people leaving are both damn depressing and good cause it might mean that someone somewhere has found out what's happened and is slowly taking people home.

Either way we're all losing people we care about so we should do something to keep our spirits up. Anyone got any suggestions beyond a party? Maybe a bonfire where we could toast marshmallows and tell stories or something?
