It was great that everyone shared their baby names with me! Thank you, everyone. A couple of you guessed why. I'm going to have a baby of my own. I'll probably be back on Rica by the time he's born, but I still wanted to hear your ideas.

Today I've got some more questions, in the interest of cultural exchange.

What's one of your favourite things about the station?
and
What's something you really liked about where you're originally from?

You don't have to answer both. If you really dislike either the station or where you're from, that's okay, but I'm trying to surround myself with positive ideas today.

Could you also please write to me if you speak any of the languages of the nearby planets fluently and might be willing to come with me on a visit and translate for me?

I'm going to make maple taffy in the food court tomorrow (Friday) and again on Sunday. It's fun to do, everyone interested is welcome to join me. This includes children - I do ask that very young children have an adult or older child to supervise them.

I'm going to be making a special Thanksgiving meal on Monday in the food court. Turkey, stuffing, vegetables, roasted sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, pies. It'll be a real feast. Everyone is welcome. I'll make up some to go packages for those that would rather eat at home.

FAO All Station Members

Hi everyone,

No doubt you have been seeing changes to yourself and others on the station. I have been remotely monitoring station diagnostics over the last few weeks and there are significant changes to electrical signatures around specific sites such as;
Wheel 5
The Ley lines
Little Asgard
Food Courts
Various other private residences (which host magical residents)

These sites seem to follow their usual electrical signature, however there are extended periods of time where these sites fluctuate in energy in a waveform pattern.

It might just be my paranoia and I am not looking to cause panic and hysteria, but I think we have a serious problem on our hands. My gut tells me this is going to get worse if we do nothing, and I always trust my gut because it's always right. Magic however, isn't my thing so I suggest those that do know more about it start to look into it.

I am going to try something else and I'll report back.

Annie.

I know this is short notice, but I'm having a party on the 11th. It's going to be 40s-50s themed. I know last year was a big year for me, but this is too. I've lived ten years longer than I should have. So it's a birthday and anniversary rolled into one!

The other door, the Brooklyn one, leads to Earth in the late 1930s. It's not exactly the place I'm from, but it's similar. Miguel(s) and Maryanne, it might be your past? The neighborhood is a little rough but it's mostly just poor, not so dangerous. Just keep your wits after dark.

Be careful about stuff like the phones if you go through, things like that don't exist yet. If you want to buy anything you'll need money. There are probably plenty of odd jobs around at the factories or boat docks or you could pawn things like gold or silver that you find around the station.

If you need help, let me know.

It's not quite home but it's real close.

Hello, I am Wanda. I have arrived here some days ago. Please, tell me in which way I can contribute to the community here.

[Steve & Thor]

I apologise for not contacting you sooner. I needed some time. But I have been glad to see you are here, my friends.

I understand that everyone wishes that I'd just shock off but this is the first time I've been somewhere where I can celebrate Dia de los Muertos even slightly. Would anyone have a couple of Marigolds I can have?

Muchos gracias, amigos.

It's (Canadian) Thanksgiving.  I know times are hard right now. I'm inviting everyone to list one thing you're thankful for (or more than one if you can).  It can be something as simple as the fact that you're able to read this.  I'll start.

I'm grateful for my good health.  I'm grateful for Sophia and everyone else who helps people when they're not in good health.

I'm thankful to my aunt Ruby for teaching me how to cook.

I'm thankful for every time someone has smiled at me, on the island or here on the station, to brighten my day.  And for all the ones who've stopped to talk to me.

I'm thankful for everyone with a good sense of humor that help make life fun.I'm thankful for card games, board games and sports that also make life fun.

I'm thankful for all the good people I've known, past and present.

I know we all mourn in our own way... But I would like to celebrate the men that are now gone from our community. Would anyone like to join me? Or shall I do it alone?

My friends, might any of you know where I could get my hands on a crate or even a basket of oranges? I do not wish to drive down supplies, but if we could spare around ten or perhaps even a dozen, I would be incredibly grateful.

I have a few announcements as the holidays get close!

First, I'll be doing two special classes. One will be cookie decorating, the other for a holiday meal. Holiday meal will be similar to Thanksgiving was; we'll make some sides that can be reheated and I'll explain how to prepare a roast day-of. That class is adults, or 13+ if you have an adult come with you. Cookies will be kids encouraged (but certainly not necessary). I'll have the cookies pre-baked but show you how to make them too so you can do more later if you want, the focus will be mostly on decorating. There will be lots of different icings and chocolate and candies to decorate with and you'll go home with plenty of cookies so you can leave some out for Santa and still have a bunch to share. Since the holiday meal class will take a little longer, that one will be on Sunday the 22nd, cookies will be Monday the 24th. Coffee and hot cocoa will flow at both.

Next, the tradition hasn't been started here yet, but when I came from we always did something called Christmas for Strays and I'm going to host it because no one should be alone on Christmas unless they want to be. Basically, anyone who doesn't have a place to be or people to be with on Christmas (or anyone who just wants to come, wants to meet new folks, or just doesn't have the energy to put together a Christmas meal), can meet me in the food court at any point in the day. I'll be there starting at 5am, with cinnamon rolls and hot drinks. A full breakfast will be ready for 9. Through the afternoon there will be snacks and small bites, a fire, some games, and holiday movies. Big dinner will be at 4, and dessert at 6. More festivities in to the evening, then cocktails, mulled zap apple cider, or hot cocoa at 9, when we put on Die Hard. Anyone is welcome, and you can come and go as you please, you don't to stay all day. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, feel free to drop by, and if you do celebrate something else and want to do something similar for your holiday, we can figure that out too. Only thing you have to do is bring one present to exchange, and one bit of food to share. It doesn't have to be homemade if you don't want it to be, just something you like and want to share.

Filtered Away from Adults
There will be one more class for kids only! If anyone wants to make something to eat for anyone but don't want them to find out about it in the other classes, we'll meet on Saturday the 21st and I can help you make whatever you like and we'll wrap it up before you go home. The only grown ups will be me, Darcy, Mary Ellen, and maybe Stevie, and they'll be sworn to secrecy so you can make things for anyone else and they won't find out.

Is there anyone here who can help me improve my English?

I would like to concentrate mainly on speech and listening, because that is where I encounter the most difficulties.

There is no dignified way to eat tacos, and I did not like the chocolate shot.

This hat does not fit over all the hair.

More people vanishing.  I keep trying to think of the right thing to say, but it's like there is no right thing.  Just I'm sorry for everyone that's been lost.

I want to remind everyone that my restaurant in the food court is open.   If you're not up to coming here, I can deliver.

I'll be hosting a special brunch this Saturday in the food court, starting at 10 am and going until at least 2 pm.    Everyone is invited.  I'll have some special dishes.  I'm also taking requests for the brunch -  it could be a dish that was a favourite of a loved one, or a food that comforts you - anything you'd like to have.  It's not meant to be a memorial or a wake. Just a chance to be around other people. I think it can do a lot of good, especially if anyone's feeling lonely.

I would like to openly apologize to anyone that I might have made uncomfortable in the past. If I have said or done anything that you didn't like, I apologize. It was completely unintentional.

Please feel free to tell me if there was a problem or if there is one in the future. The last thing I want to do is make people uncomfortable.

I'm going to make maple taffy tomorrow afternoon.  It is fun to make and eat.  Anyone can join me, including children.  I do ask that very young children have an adult or older child to supervise them.  I'll also have beavertails and hot chocolate.   For those who weren't here the last time I made them - beavertails aren't actual tails from beavers.  It's a fried dough pastry, traditionally topped with cinnamon and sugar.  I'm going to have other toppings too, both sweet and savory options. Everyone's welcome.

This is a new look for me. Must be a station thing. Or maybe just in the park thing?
