Bonjour. Je suis désolé, mais... non, en anglais. I am sorry but I have broken a table in the food court. I did not mean to, I simply leaned on it too much and one of the legs has snapped in two.

And I have broken the chair I was attempting to sit on at the time.

I fear I must ask for the assistance of some kind soul here.

I am unwell. It is the old illness and I know very well how to manage it, but is there someone willing to receive a short message from me, every few hours, as proof that I am conscious?

It will only be until evening. Perhaps tomorrow if I am not recovered.

I've decided, since I've had Mitchell on my mind, I'm going to pay homage to my late Irish friend. I'll be serving different traditional Irish foods, I've sighed over a very hefty IOU for some of the old Irish whiskey, and some ale I've been promised was old enough to make Mr. Hamilton 'boy that's old'. I'll be serving it all until the barrels are dry.

So come join me in celebrating Saint Patrick's Day, and the truest friend I've ever had.

I'll still be serving anything else your heart desires, if the menu doesn't tickle your fancy, just tell me what you want, and be patient.

For those who don't know my restaurant is located on Wheel one, at [location].

This might sound strange, but I suppose the bar for what is considered strange is set high here.

Has anyone ever gone home without physically leaving this place?

Now, I'm pretty sure that the logical answer is 'crazy fever dreams', but I just can't shake the feeling that these things really happened. They feel like memories, not dreams. And yet I can't have gone home, not really, because someone would have noticed if I'd disappeared from medbay.

I don't know what I want anyone to say. I'm just curious.

Whichever magical person has done this to me, you have had your laugh at my expense, now please undo it.

What the shock, seriously? Right shocking now? Shocking hell.

Good morning,

Katarin Tavehi and I have created a space for study in your bookshop or library or whatever you care to call the large space with all the books that are actually in Pretannic our language and not an alien one. Anyone is welcome to use it, but please do not touch any of the new maps or overlays, or any counters you see placed on them. I have drawn a map of my own country and am overlaying it with one of this place called Britain, as I determine what the place-names in the books here mean. I am drawing a map of Katarin Tavehi's country which I understand she is using in her study of military strategy. The maps do take up a fair proportion of the space, but we have brought in other desks should anyone else wish to work there. I am much better at caricatures than maps, but the latter seem more useful here.

If I may turn to another matter, on my very first day here, I am sure that I caught sight of a gentleman riding a horse. I cannot recollect who it might have been, but perhaps one of you would tell me if there are horses here that anyone might ride?

Good morning.

Let me thank the gentlemen who assisted me on the day of my arrival for your kindness. I wish I could say that my mind is less troubled on this day than it was on that that one, but unfortunately, I cannot. I have spent my time since then with your history books.

They are wrong. Wrong in many particulars, from the great to the small. Pretannica is 'Britain' and Gaul is 'France' and the wars are protracted or shifted or simply not as they should be. The dates are wrong, all across the past millennium. Places are wrongly named, and many august personages either are not mentioned or are said to hold the wrong offices. On a more personal note, the great city of Calleva, near which my family has its estate, in your books appears to have disappeared when the Romans did.

Further, I cannot find a single mention of telekinetics.

The similarities, however, are numerous and uncanny enough that I cannot simply say that I must be reading about some other planet, even as I learn the nature of this place.

What would you make of this?
