[Madame Giry + Lesser Opera Persons]
The worst tragedy since the fall of Rome has occurred.
My head is as heavy as the heart of a sinner before Our Lord. My breath is labored, and I am weak as a newborn lamb. My skin is cold as the eternal death. Yet, worse even than the pallor of my perfect complexion is the fate of our beloved opera.
Madame, I have lost my voice. The same voice which has captured the world, and brought it to its knees. The voice which brings tears to the eyes of gentlemen, and tenderness to the heart of ladies. That voice is nothing now. It is gone.
I am as good as dead, Madame Giry. And along with me, the opera.

To the President of the Council, Supreme Justice of the Council, Council Members, and all the council-related titles I haven't heard or might be getting wrong:
Greetings! As you may have seen my introduction earlier last weekor was it two weeks ago? Telling time here is so weird - or maybe not, considering my arrival coincided with a throng of mock-trials and everyone was in a tizzy- anyway, my name is Leslie Knope, and I am settled in and ready to offer the whole of my advice and services.
I have always had a passion for government, and a drive to always do what's best for my community, whether it be Pawnee or in this case, a congregation of multi-universe alien abductees in what I imagine the Betty Ford clinic might look like in the future. I was recently elected to a city council seat in beautiful Pawnee, and I have a long history of community service stretching all the way back to elementary school- including Model UN, Student Government, and leader of the Pawnee Goddesses.
Is there anything I can help you with? I've beengoing a little crazy itching to get my hands dirty.
