So I'm coming to terms with the fact that my mind was manipulated. And also with the fact that the situation was such that my friends would have expected betrayal over mind control. Perils of deep cover operations. But I can also acknowledge the manipulation doesn't excuse my actions. My loyalties were altered, but the choices I made in the service of those loyalties were mine. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm sorry for the shit I did, especially trying to murder powered heroes and actually murdering some of them. And for definitely killing your girlfriend, Phil. And for being a dick, well more of one than I usually am, here.

Except the part where I was a dick to other me. He can choke. Also I genuinely think his girlfriend is awful.

Does anyone know who I should speak to about getting some time in one of the labs at the University? I need something to do when I can't sleep.

And I know they said it's not safe to go beyond the barrier but I'd love to get out there and collect some samples myself. There must be a way to do that.

I have really forgotten how to be a homebody. Considering I spent a good thirty plus years being one, you'd think settling back in that rut would come easy, but it really doesn't.

It's vaguely disturbing just how thick the canopy gets outside of the complex. Usually there's some clue of the topography from the air, but I can't even get a gauge of the wildlife outside of those airs where they're taller than the trees.

Anyone up for trying to figure out how far the forest extends? It's got to stop somewhere.

There's a loose end a person finds themselves at when their meaning for continuing on is removed from sight. It had already happened back home, but it's far more final here.

It's hard to be active in a cause that doesn't exist. But at the same time, there's a measure of peace here that hadn’t existed at home for over a decade.

I suppose what I'm saying is, has anyone else figured out how to handle this setting without feeling listless?

It's pretty amazing that a town surrounded by dinosaurs is this sleepy. I'm not complaining, because I know the rules and that would be jinxing it, but I'm just saying. It's weird.

I've been ducking out with the border patrol to stay sharp and keep busy, but it's not the same. So anyone up to spar? I'll buy drinks afterward.
