To recap: a whiny little girl doesn't want to do her task and whines about it ad infinitum. I tell her to pull her weight, politely, at first, but I include threats when it becomes clear that she's more interested in whining and being the center of attention than actually listening to her superiors. Then I get flooded with threats from various people, ranging from benign to the laughable 'I'll turn you into a vegetable' one.

Then, she tells someone about her apparently morally repugnant task, does it anyway, even though it's so morally repugnant, then lies to her block, saying that she completed her task.

Now all of Hotel is being forced to walk to our next destination, over twenty-four hours with no food, no water, and no rest, on pain of getting the people we care about hurt.

So, to sum up: I was right and I'll be accepting apologies for the rest of the night.

Midway workers and roustabouts, I expect my midway to be shining and sparkling when I arrive on Monday after our long walk.

Okay, the way I see it, we have three options:

1. We go further into the caves, hoping that they'll provide us with some protection in case the volcano erupts. But we'll die anyway, either from lava or toxic fumes


2. We make for the beach, getting as far away from the volcano as possible. But we'll die anyway, either from ash or toxic fumes.


3. We hope that the countdown means we'll be going back to the compound, meaning we don't have to worry about the volcano unless it erupts before the countdown runs out.

Who wants to go on a boat ride?

Now that our numbers are about to swell, I'd like to reiterate the general goals of this camp: that it remain peaceful, that everyone gets what they need, and that everyone pitches in.

To those ends, please let me know if you're incoming with any special needs, like injuries, children, or dietary restrictions.

I would also welcome volunteers for foraging, fishing, hunting, night watch (internal and external), bandage-changing, water boiling, and for Malcolm's entertainment committee.

I took down a wild boar just now, so we're having pork and grapes for dinner, with coffee afterward. How's that for a welcome?

Although it was an off-the-cuff comment, Malcolm got me thinking. Would either of you be up for leading the occasional service for those who want to worship?

Remaining Beach Campers, I think we've put this off as long as possible. We need to pack up what we can salvage, and follow the rest of our camp inland towards the caves. Even though the flooding seems to have subsided, I don't trust the look of the ocean. I'm leaving in two hours, anyone who wants to come with me is welcome.

I've got a really injured, naked Knight of Ren that I could use some help with. While he seems to have a high genetic tolerance for falling into some worm monster's magma pit -- he's hurt really bad. We're about an hour outside camp. Come as soon as you can.

This wouldn't have happened if he'd had the high ground.
