WELCOME TO THE WITTGENSTEIN INSTITUTE (2.0)

We have updated our privacy policy in accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulations ("GDPR") which went into effect on May 25th, 2018.

The specimens have been released from Alfa. As specimens file out, they will be greeted by a grad student who will hand them a SURVEY.

Once completed, specimens will be given their new room assignments, the devices with which they access the network will be returned to them, and they will also be given a hat and a small pamphlet explaining their new employment opportunity at the facility.

SPECIMENS DO NOT HAVE NETWORK ACCESS UNTIL THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE SURVEY

All previous belongings can be moved to the new room assignment, but moving forward the game’s inventory will be more general and vague, due to the shutdown of Polyvore. (This may change in the future, if another platform picks up where polyvore left off) but for the moment, this is handwaved. Also, if you’d like all a specimen’s former possessions to be removed, or for them to only keep a few select items, that’s absolutely fine. We’ll leave that to your discretion.

IC Changes
  • The Scientists are no longer recognizing the validity of a constitution however will be marginally more transparent on ethical oversight (in that you now know they have some).
  • Specimens no longer receive commissary from their scientists to use on compound goods and services but earn it through the performance of assigned jobs. There's a small specimen-staffed bodega, and diner. As well as several new job-specific offices (check the compound page).
  • The grounds of the Compound now has space for more developed gardening, keeping small groups of animals. Also the training facility will be open permanently.
  • Devices now contain the network, CONNECT (a dating app / messaging type device that works like Tinder), and PAPERS (currently only on Lima block residents ; this allows for access to Lima block.) They can also take pictures and contain access to a limited amount of gifs.

OOC Changes
  1. Activity Requirements - Players are expected to have three pieces of activity for all active characters between the first and last day of each month.
What Counts: journal entries, comment chains (5+ tags), logs or threads, a hiatus of more than 5 days.
We will be paying closer attention to hiatuses, and we’ll ask players to potentially drop characters if they are relying on hiatuses for two months in a row to meet the majority of their activity.

Activity is tracked Here, as always. Please make sure you request access if you don’t yet have it.

Once every four months (September, December, April) instead of typical activity, we'll ask players to assess their character lists, and write a few sentences about the character's progress in the past four months as well as future plans for that character. This will be a public post, meant to facilitate plots, help with characters who are stuck, and also for people to decide whether or not it's time to let a character go.

  2. We've got a New Cast Page please check and make sure the information featured on the cast page is correct.

  3. There have been a few Minor tweaks to the application

  4. New Compound Page. Briefly, what's changed includes : Research subject bill of rights in The Wittgenstein replacing constitution / squad stuff, Commissary changed to Bodega, workspaces added, and streamlined in Common Areas, Mike Block replaced with Lima Block. Polyvore links replaced with Pinterest links.
