Kindred Souls

[info]alternate_girls
[info]btvsal
Who: Mouse & Mac
Where: Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Saturday afternoon

While normally, Mouse would be a little sluggish and tired at the very prospect of the double-shift she was going to be working today, instead, the pale redhead was perky and smiling. She was going to go visit Hope after she got out tonight, and the thought made her giggly and full of smiles.

Wearing that silly-yet-cute outfit the waitresses there wore, she sat down at a small table near the counter to take her first break of the day.

Whistle while you work (A LOT)...

[info]kaitlin_crowe
[info]btvsal
Who:  Mouse, OT Marlowe and anyone else
Where: Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Saturday evening

Mouse loved her job. Seriously. It gave her a MUCH better income than most waitressing jobs would, she got all the free drinks and food she wanted, she was allowed to take some home for her family (which helped because of how destitute they were), and she adored her co-workers. But today? She was still wearing the proverbial grumpypants. Because in order to make a little extra money, she'd volunteered to work a double-shift, having started at opening at 7am, and working straight through until close at midnight. So right now? She was EXHAUSTED.

Wearing the typical waitress outfit of the Shack (a red and white striped skirt and blouse, reminiscent of the old diners from the 50s), she still tried to wear a bright (if not tired) grin, as she brought a tray of Sugar Fairy Shooters and donuts over to a small group of college kids who'd been using the sugar to cram for exams or something.

First Date

[info]alternate_girls
[info]btvsal
Who: Marlowe and Mouse(Open to Continuation)
Where: A restaurant in downtown L.A.
When: Evening, Friday February 5th

It took some persuading, alright A LOT of persuading on Marlowe's part to get the cute, little timid mouse from the Sugar Shack to go out on an actual date with her. Parking the pickup at the curb Marlowe hopped out dressed for the evening in a pair of black leather pants, a long sleeve black top that hung down over one shoulder exposing the strap of the leopard print tank worn beneath, and black leather boots. Making it up to the girl's front door Marlowe knocked soundly before taking a step back to wait for someone to answer.

Ughhhh.... Kaitlin REALLY didn't want to be picked up at home. She was terribly embarrassed about how and where she lived. Her family was broke as the proverbial joke. So when Marlowe knocked, the bashful girl literally opened the door JUST a crack, and slipped out through it, smiling with a blush. She was dressed conservatively, in low-slung beige cargo pants, a clingy light blue t-shirt, and her red hair pulled into a tight pony. She'd been pleasantly surprised to find out, last time, that Marlowe wasn't half the letch she'd seemed to be, and, in private, was actually rather nice. Giving a shy little wave, she cleared her throat and looked at the other girl.

"Um... heh. Hi!"

Caffiene Craving

[info]alternate_girls
[info]btvsal
Who: Marlowe and Mouse
Where: Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Sunday Morning - Jan.3

Coffee was a much needed thing this morning for Marlowe. Skipping breakfast she could handle, but denying herself an infusion of caffiene was nowhere near an option. After leaving Wes' house and procuring herself a morning edition of the L.A. Times, Marlowe made the drive to Chloe's Sugar Shack. Sure she could have enjoyed a cup back at the house, but Marlowe tended to job search more easily sitting by herself then surrounded by people who'd end up trying to draw her into conversation.

Pulling into the lot of the coffee place Marlowe found a spot to park in, and after cutting off the engine and grabbing her bag the girl headed on into the place.

Not a creature was stirring... well... except for Mouse.

[info]kaitlin_crowe
[info]btvsal
Who: Mouse, OT all
Where: The Sugar Shack
When: Christmas Eve

Well DAMN! The Sugar Shack was EMPTY. Yes, it was Christmas Eve. And Chloe really only let the shop stay open tonight because she knew how bad Kaitlin needed the hours and really didn't want to be home sulking on a holiday. She'd asked the shy waitress if she wanted to have Christmas with the Van Warrens, but the quiet girl known as Mouse said no, feeling she'd be imposing on her boss.

So, she puttered around the empty place, humming a Christmas carol to herself as she cleaned one of the (already clean) tables, trying to keep herself in the holiday spirit...

Friday night geekery

[info]sister_sam
[info]btvsal
WHO: Samantha Greene, OT all
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: Chloe's Sugar Shack

Sam arrived early enough that she was able to get a corner booth with a view of the front door. She was working on a small mocha and a cinnamon roll, and had three books open on the table: a Latin dictionary, a copy of Macbeth and Fox in Sox, by noted scholar Dr. Seuss.

It was a little noisy, here, but it was no worse that being at home. Their houseguest was watching martial arts movies with Janie, and unfortunately, they had discovered the joys of SurroundSound. Vito was in the study with the door closed and a "If you're not Anna, don't even THINK of knocking" sign on the door, otherwise, she would have taken up a spot on the loveseat in there.

The coffee was better here. That was a bonus, anyway. And the cinnamon roll. ... and the small bag of Irish Cream cordials she was picking at. This place had the potential to be very addictive.

Who: Kaitlin, open to anyone
Where: The Sugar Shack
When: Thursday night

Kaitlin - Kaiti to some, 'Mouse' to most - had just finished her shift for the evening. Rather than leave, and go home to where she had nothing to do, she decided to take the novel she'd been reading ('Revolutionary Road' by Richard Yates) out of her bookbag, sit down at an empty booth, and enjoy a few iced coffee drinks. One of Chloe's perks of working here was that all employees got free drinks whenever they wanted, so, she was definitely going to take advantage of that.

Looking caught somewhere between cute and weird in a knee-length red pleated skirt, a Dawn of the Dead tank top, and red-and-white striped armwarmers, the quiet young waitress curled up in the booth, and started to read.

Working on College Entrance Stuff

[info]russian_slayer
[info]btvsal
Who: Catherine and Open
Where: Public Library
When: Monday, January 5

While Catherine knew that the world was technically falling down around the Slayers, she still had a life outside of saving the world on occasion. She was working toward finished her high school degree and going to UCLA. That seemed to be her fate. Well, as long as she survived the oncoming slaughter that probably would happen soon. Catherine wanted to keep an open mind about her survival, and, frankly, she had a better shot than some of the other girls, since she had more training than a lot of the others did, but that was like saying a three year old would survive in a fight against a tiger longer than a baby who couldn't even crawl yet.

Still, if she just sat around thinking about things like that, she'd snap, or bail out of here faster than most people could keep up with. She knew that was still technically an option. She could run like hell back to Russia, live with her parents, and pretend that none of this was going on. It was tempting, even. However, she knew that she wouldn't do that. It was her duty and destiny to be here. Hopefully, her destiny would also include surviving the upcoming bad nights.

And surviving Calculus IV. That wouldn't suck, either.
