Lindsey had been doing some last minute paperwork when he first started hearing the gasps and screams from some of his coworkers. He tried to ignore it. This late at Wolfram & Hart, it could just be some group of employees getting punished for something they had done to piss the higher ups off. Not the strangest thing that he had ever heard. Eventually, though, he had to get up and shut the door because the noise was starting to get distracting.

After slamming the door shut without looking out in the hallway to see what was going on, he had turned around and caught a glance at the large window of his that faced the city and nearly fainted from the shock. Big giant balls of fire were falling from the sky and slamming into the ground.

He was fairly certain that this wasn't a part of Wolfram & Hart's plan to end they world (yes, they had one), and the first thought that popped up into his head after realizing that was to figure out just where in the hell Lilah was.

Grabbing his keys off of the desk, he left his office and headed toward hers. He just prayed that Vikki was inside.

After her near brush with being trapped in another time period Vikki was beyond happy to be back in the present. Now that she was though she wanted answers damn it! She still wasn't a hundred percent sure Lucie was telling the truth,and even if she was she still just wanted to be able to talk to her dad. Doing so always made her feel better no matter which time she was from.

After leaving school for the day Vikki went right to her father's apartment and walked right in,not bothering to check if he was home or alone. "Dad!"

A few days after her meeting with death, Lucie decided to send Lindsey an invite to meet her. She sent him an email with a time and the place where she'd be. Once that was done Lucie took some time making herself as presentable as possible. Lucie arrived at Eden just before seven and grabbed a seat at the bar.

She ordered a blue hurricane drink and scoped out the bar while she waited for Lindsey. As far as a plan she didn't have much of one, other than to distract Lindsey long enough so that death could get to Lilah. Lucie found that a short dress and an endless supply of booze was an ample distraction for most men.

It was just about seven as Lucie continued to people watch and sip slowly at her hurricane. She was fairly certain that Lindsey would show up, although if he didn't for some reason, she would just go to him if she had to.

Lindsey had the circle drawn out on his floor. His landlord might get pissed because what he had drawn it out with was *not* going to come out with any sort of cleaner, but this was about something important to him, so he didn't give a damn if he lost his security deposit. Right now he needed to learn exactly how he needed to help Lilah prevent Death getting to her. What he was trying to do was see into the future to see how he had done it. Sort of cheating, and he might be wrong in thinking that he had done it, but, well, it was worth a try.

Something didn't go right, though. He felt it as soon as he finished the spell. It actually felt sort of like it spiked off of another spell being performed at the same time. Just his luck that someone else would be performing serious magic right exactly when he was doing the same. A bright light appeared in the center of his circle, which then flew out and slammed him in the chest, blasting him across the room.

He didn't black out, but it would have been nice since he had just gotten a serious punch to the chest. When he looked over at the circle, there was someone standing in the middle of it now. "Who the hell are you?" he asked, trying to sit up.

Lindsey was packing his suitcase to get out of here. He had set himself a goal that he would be getting out of the godforsaken hospital in time for New Year's Eve, and he had done it. It had taken a lot out of him to be able to pull it off, but he had managed to do it. So, he was planning on going to that party that he had been invited to tomorrow night, and he planned on having a date.

Well, he had to actually ask her out for that date before he really made plans for having it. Which would require her to show up like he asked. She wasn't late yet, but she was starting to cut it close. Besides, he had a pretty obvious surprise to show her when she got in here.

Lilah was just finishing up some late night paperwork and was on her way out of the office. She was almost past Lindsey's still empty office,when she noticed the guy with dark sunglasses that she'd seen a few glimpses of in the last two weeks or so. She stopped and just watched him for a second,it was eerie how no one else seemed to see him as they walked by him. Lilah wasn't sure why,but the closer to her this guy got she was gripped with the overwhelming urge to run as fast and as far as possible.

Once her trance like state seemed to wear off, she turned around and headed for the nearest stairwell exit door. Once she found the nearest exit door Lilah made her way down the stairs,and she kept going until she hit medical wing. She realized though once she was on the medical wing floor that she hadn't been down there enough to know her way around. So she just kept walking at a slightly faster than normal pace and she turned around a few times to see if the mysterious guy was still following her.

The things that Lucie had said to Lindsey were worrisome. So, with the help of a nurse (and no, he wasn't going to go into just how much he had HATED that) he had gotten dressed and left the hospital floor for the first time in he wasn't even sure how long. Quickly enough, he was on the elevator and heading for the floor with the offices on it.

He knew exactly where Lilah's office was. He had been to it a number of times before. Tonight he wasn't going there to bug her, though, like he had done numerous times in the past. No, this time it was to get to the bottom of what Lucie had told him. She wasn't prone to lying. Sure, she used information like a trained soldier used a gun, but she usually didn't lie. The truth could be much worse. As a lawyer, Lindsey knew that.

Lindsey was getting to the point to where he would be getting out of the hospital soon. With the magic he was practicing, he was actually healing at quite the exceptional rate. He actually had feeling in his toes again when, when he was brought to the hospital before, he had none. He was certainly going to be out of here for the annual New Year's party that he usually attended. It might even double as his 'coming out' party, although he doubted anyone even expected him to be there, other than the people he had RSVP'd to.

He had actually been working on a transmutation spell until he felt a presence near by. Actually, it was quite a familiar one. It made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up when he felt something watching him. "It's alright to come out, Ms. Lucie." Amusingly enough, he was trying to turn an apple into an orange. It seemed like a funny way to practice that, after all.

At this point, Lindsey could at least get around in a wheelchair. That was good, because he was about to lose his damn mind sitting in that stupid bed all day. He still didn't have any use of his legs, but he was working on other ways to try and fix that. He was getting some good research done and, hopefully, once he had things completely figured out, he would be able to be out of here in the next month or so.

Right now he was sitting in the lobby of the hospital floor, dressed in a pair of pajamas and sitting in his chair with a book in his lap. He was sick of looking at the four walls in his room, and there wasn't any sort of rule again him going around the hospital floor, was there? He just knew that he couldn't go past that floor right now. Too dangerous...or something like that.
