As predicted, Isabella's discussion with Meeghan didn't go well and she took out her frustration on a nest of vampires, alone, that night. Which, admittedly, wasn't the smartest thing to do but she survived. Although next time? She was taking Bethany with her. She wasn't about to tempt her luck with fate... y'know, again. Fortunately, she had the forethought to book her meeting with Nathan several days later, which gave her a chance to mend and generally be less crabby. A crabby Isabella? Was never a good thing.

So, she made her way to Nathan's house wearing her usual jeans, tank-top, and leather jacket and knocked on his front door. She was a few minutes early... but, she was of a mind that it was better to be early than late.

Nathan didn't pace very often. After his mom showed up out of the blue and tried to get him to go to the Watcher's Council he'd been thinking.
And pacing.
And thinking.

When he heard the phone ring, he nearly killed himself getting to the phone stand by miscalculating where it was.

"Hello?"
