Knowhere IC

Anyone feel like going a few rounds at sparring? Need to get some range of motion back so I don't feel as old as Cap. Be nice to be able to get a decent draw on the bow again, too.

Well, since the folks down in Medical were kind enough to let me out early and my roommates got me a lovely surprise that say I now have fish I have to worry about feeding, who's up for the weekly poker game tonight? C'mon now. Don't be shy. I've got some units to win and fish to spoil.

So it looks as if I'm going to need to get myself a job while here. As of right now, I'm offering my services as a programmer up. I can pretty much throw any number of software upgrades, or programs your way if you need it. I'm good at building and tinkering as well, plus all sorts of science messes. So give me a shout if you need help with anything like that.

In the mean time, I'm trying to get a feel for the place so I can figure out how to help out. Where would I be needed? Does anyone need help anywhere in their shops?

This is the first time I've had a birthday without Scott. It's...weird. You share a birthday for so long, not doing it just feels. Weird. Anyway feeling oddly melancholic. I vote cheesy movies, who's in?

Alright, one more time to make sure everyone's clear on how this is going to go. As soon as we land, I'm first out the door. Sabo and Ryder, I want you hot on my heels. Lay down the fire and the biotic combinations heavy to clear as a hole. Kerrigan, Nebula, Meetra, we all form a circle around Rocket with Meetra using the force to, hopefully, give us a clear path that's going to line up with what the biologists and engineering experts have come up with for intel. You keep your fingers hot on the trigger and heavy on the sword swinging, but be care to keep the heat off Rocket and the bomb as much as possible. We move in tight groups, we stay together until we get to the brain, then it's everyone cover Rocket until he tells us it's time to go, then we go. I'll bring up the rear on the way out and we're all going to make a mad dash back to the TARDIS and get the hell out of there.

I'm not going to lie to any of you. I know this ship. I know it better than I want to. He's going to try to get in your head and I can only imagine, especially once Harbinger figures out what we're up to, he's not going to take it very easy on us at all. Fight smart. Drop back to the TARDIS if you don't think you can take a hit and keep rolling, there's no point you getting swarmed and coming in deeper if you're not going to be able to make the run back out. You watch your ammo, stay frosty, and no trying to hack the Reapers this time Ryder.

You're our ride in and out and I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you what that means. We're going to do our best to stay loud and keep the focus on us, but you hold that ship as best you can and bug out if you think you're going to lose it. We've got secondary air support on standby for a reason. Just keep your comms open. If anyone gets hit too badly, we'll be keeping open comms and you'll have backup coming, hopefully with a clear path all the way back to you.

(OOC: I'll be putting up subthreads for OPEN Comms, Private Comms and general OOC discussion about how the strike teams go for the various groups if there's things that got left out or people wanted to add. Have fun everybody and don't hesitate to have your people go hog wild with this one!)

Alright people, it's been four days of hard fighting. I want to say we're doing well, but reports coming in from the ground say it's not looking good at all. I've put together a plan with the help of some of the people up here, something we think is at least going to give a shot at turning the tide of this battle in our favor. I know it's asking a lot, I know a lot of you up here and down there are exhausted and tired, I know we've got injured and sick, and if I didn't feel like we had no other choice but to do something drastic here, I wouldn't put this idea forward at all. We've all see what the Reapers can do now, what their plan is. They're harvesting people, they're wiping out this planet to try and make more of themselves and they're not going to stop. They're going to do this to more and more planets if we don't draw our line in the sand right here.

Which is why we're going to be taking a TARDIS inside a Reaper and blow that sonofabitch up from the inside out.

I can't say it's a safe plan. In fact, I can pretty much say that it's going to be the opposite of a safe plan, which is why I'm asking for volunteers to join me on a strike team. Combat experience is essential on this one people -- and I want to be real up front that we never tried anything like this before, not even when we were desperate back home. I can only imagine the things we're going to have to see and do in there so I want you all to think long and hard before you sign yourself up.

And does anybody have any idea who that giant ball of pyrotechnics was down there? Pairs nicely with my biotics and, in close quarters, I'm thinking he'd be a real pain in the ass for the Reapers to handle.

By the dawning of the second day, most of the rampant chaos and confusion of the first clash had faded out of sight. It was promptly replaced, of course, by chaos and confusion of a more focused and coordinated nature - battle lines had been drawn, trenches were dug, and operating bases had been established, for instance, but the fighting itself never seemed to slow in the least. The Reapers, unflinching and tireless creatures that they were, twisted every hour into a frenzy of activity in which new landing crafts would touch down, spawning dozens (if not hundreds) more soldiers for the Knowhere resistance to fight off, or a whole new front to the war zone would suddenly appear somewhere on the planet, needing more warriors to band together and create a defensive line. Whatever role they normally played - fighters, medics, spies, heroes, and even Doctors or wizards - gave them greater strength than the Reapers individually, but their would-be conquerors had exponentially greater numbers. Amid all the gunfire and explosions, ground was being lost little by little, leaving hollowed buildings and horrible scars on the landscape as the Reapers trudged faithfully forward, even over the fallen bodies of their own kind.

Cosmo has bad news, very bad news. Continuum Cortext registered large scale fissure in open space. It is far from Knowhere, but things we identify as Reapers have come through the portal. These Reapers come from Cmdr. Shepard's universe. We don't know how this happen, only that it is.

I will allow Shepard to explain these Reapers, but we provide information about them to your tablets. The Guardians and myself are scramblink first response team. The Reapers attack planet with no self defense, we must evacuate and hold off Reapers. You are not required to fight. Cosmo does not tell you want to do, but if you want to help, meet at docks. We will take RIV to planet.

Not precisely how I intended to spend my vacation, but I suppose there are worse destinations. My name is Diana Prince. I understand that a number of the current guests have been in this place for some time now. Perhaps you might be kind enough to offer some guidance on how best to proceed?

I'm glad that's all over with. The Troyjans and Ba-bani are back to hating each other again, as it should be. The next time they create world destroying weapons and want to blow each other up? I don't know. Maybe we don't get involved next time.

But on a more serious note I did want to take some time to say thank you to everyone here. It feels like our little space family just got a whole lot bigger. Not a single person came to me to tell us that we should turn ourselves over and you all fought and helped out when it came down to it. I'm grateful. I think we all are and it won't be forgotten.

I'm not even sure how this bleeding works, except it obviously does but less questioning the magical whatever this is and more questioning the sodding floating Kirkwall.

The captives have all been rescued from the Troyjans and Ba-Bani but without a proper deterrent, it is likely they will come back and do this again. Please share your opinions on what should be done here so that Quill will listen.

My suggestion is to take a battle to them they will not forget. Swift retribution will stop them from trying again and let everyone else who may be eyeing Knowhere that it is a bad idea to attack this place.
