Ah, I hate left out characters. Though maybe it's a sign of being too big a fan that there aren't any characters I don't recognise or anything. Or course, in fandom at least we're in good company. It's only RL where the weird looks come out, in my experience at least.

Ah, Sirius/James is one of my short-but-not-serious ships, if you know what I mean. I like the idea, and the fun/mischief I know they'd have, but I can't see it as a long-term thing.

Oh, now I'm totally in the mood for reading OOTP again =P

Oh, Top Gear is fabulous! It's my only OT3(TG3) fandom, but mostly I'm all for Richard/Jeremy and James/unidertified!Stig. We have a lot of weirdos in our fandom and lots of crack. We actually had a 'Zombie!Piers Morgan' theme, although I can't stand him. It's a very fun fandom. =P

I should really go sleep before this exam tomorrow, I know, but I'm an addict and can't tear myself from the computer. =P

Yes, I generally know basically every character that gets pulled out, from Natalie MacDonald, who I like to keep as dead because of the origins (she was named after a fan who died of I think cancer), to Rose Zeller, Zacharias Mumps, etc. My brain tends to retain useless information from fandom.

That's totally my view of them too. Good times, not the long times. Sort of fooling around for the fun of it in school while James was trying to woo Lily, and then petering out as he actually succeeded. (Whereupon Sirius turns to his good pal Moony for doggie-style.)

Yes. Fandom is good for us clearly - or at least for developing over-analysis and the ability to remember ridiculous useless facts, even when it pushes things like maths or common sense out of the way.

Heh, yes, exactly! Which is also why I sometimes hate the portrayal of Sirius as some sort of playboy; I like to think he wouldn't do that to Moony. [Too involved? Me? Never!]

That's what I always say! I guess tonight I just won't fit in revision, reading and a movie, what with it already being 1:45 am. *sigh* Oh, the suffering I go through for fandom!

I get so bothered about how big Hogwarts is, too. It's like this long-running thing with me. If there's 40 students in Harry's year and that's a typical number, there is no way that school is big enough to support the infrastructure that gets described in the books. There is a scene somewhere that describes the Quidditch match audience - 200 slytherins sitting alone and the other three quarters of the school doing something else, which is a more reasonable number, but then Harry's just oblivious to most of the students in his year/class/house.

I think that Sirius is very earnest and loyal, and if he's actually in a relationship, he wouldn't cheat. I think he'd see that as quite a huge betrayal. He might play around when he's not in a relationship, but once the lines are drawn he won't go over them.

It is a harsh mistress, it's true. :( XD

Oh, I know, that really gets to me. I think, a while back on hbp_spork on LJ, we had a big thing about the fact that JKR can't do maths. At all. And yeah, there are about 150 people in each or the seven year groups in my school and we'd be about the right size for a castle, not the 280 pupils in the whole of Hogwarts, if the 40 pupils per year thing works. And Harry seems pretty oblivious to moat people anyway. I mean, I'd talk to far more than 40 people from my year group each day, yet he only ever talks to Hermione, the Gryffindor boys and a few other from the year (+the Weasleys & Luna). Okay, I'll stop now. I could go on forever about the bad maths (and timelines) of HP.

Oh, definitely. I think he'd be very 'up for it' when single, but I can't imagine him ever cheating on anybody or putting up with it from anybody else.

Very true. In fact, now that it's 2am I'm afraid I'm going to go(after a quick journal post) and force myself to sleep, because otherwise I will end up staying up reading HP all night =P

Something that ALWAYS cracks me up in fanfic is bringing the "Harry is oblivious to other people" factor in. Maya does it wonderfully. In Drop Dead Gorgeous there's a running theme that he can't remember anyone's names, not his partners, not people in his year... At one point Draco gets terrified and annoyed at the idea that Harry might not know HIS name - he's spent years hating every single LETTER of Harry's name, and Harry only ever calls him Malfoy! (She also has a bit in Quality of Mercy about how Harry knows almost nothing about Ginny, but Ginny contributes to that a lot - she doesn't hang out with her friends when she can be around Harry, she "adjusts" her interests to have more in common with him, etc.)

Probably a good idea. Sleep well. :)
