Notice that the commonality among those examples is the word "fic". I invite anyone with an interest to found their own communities for fanart, pics, news, ep discussions, spoilers, speculation, actor squeeing, and ship wars. Here at housefic, we accept all pairings, all ratings, all genres, all crossovers, and yes, dare I say it, even RPF or RPS.Given that, here's a basic code of conduct, just like your momma taught you before letting you loose on the internet. 1. All fic and longer posts should be lj-cut for length. < lj-cut text="this is how you do it, except without spaces" > and your text goes here < /lj-cut > 2. All fic should have appropriate headers. That means let the community know if you think you're going to squick or spoil them. The details are your responsibility. Please, think of the easily squicked! They think of you, and are kind of grossed out. Think of the spoiler-phobes! They think of you, and then wish the surprise hadn't been ruined. 3. All readers should READ THE HEADERS, and if they feel they're about to be squicked, then they should scroll past the post. If they get into the story and then discover that they're being squicked, then they should use that oh-so-conveniently-placed backbutton. Caveat lector: the responsibility is always the reader's. Remember, the scroll bar and the backbutton exist for your protection. Use them! 4. All discussion posts should cut for spoilers. Incidentally, "OMG HOUSE/WILSON 4EVA AND CAMERON SHOULD DIE IN A FIRE" or "ELEVENTY-ONE ALL SHIPPERS ARE MORONS RITE MORE GEN PLZ" are not topics of discussion; they are wankbait. Know the difference. If you don't, then learn the difference. Accept. Love. Grow. 5. All fic posted here is considered public and therefore under the scrutiny of comm members. There is a possibility that concrit will be offered. Concrit != flames. If you are a special and unique snowflake, then post to your personal journal and linketh us not. 6.
