You can probably guess that I'm not going back. It's not that I don't love my family, but I've got a place here now. And there, it's gone. For a good reason, and we got our people back.

But it's not for me anymore.

We've had a break-through. It's still an on-going process, but it appears that we have sent items back through the portal. Our readings are similar to the same readings when people disappear. Meaning: from all our data, it would appear we have sent these items back to their original dimension. We've even attempted this on items from this dimension, and they have come right back to us.

The next step is testing it on a living being. My hesitation comes from the fact that we truly have no idea what happens when people disappear from here. There's readings that suggest that those from the same dimension return to that dimension, but this is just something we don't know one hundred percent because no one returns with memories of their original dimension.

I know that some people are eager to return to their homes. They were in the middle of something important or need to help a loved one. I understand. How do you test this on something living? My Ditto has been homesick for some time. Today, we sent it through the portal. The readings were not like any other dimension, but there were commonalities with our previous cruises. Because of this, we believe that it does return items to the original dimension.

So the question is: if you wanted to go back, would you try?

There's talk of moving kids outside of Tumbleweed, but we don't have complete data on whether or not she'd snatched anyone outside of here. Right now, I'm recommending patrols, particularly around school times. I want no one under eighteen walking to school alone. If you're volunteering, note that I will be picking those with powers first. Maleficent has untold magical powers, and there is no telling what she's granted to the troll-like "people."

I've been thinking of making a post following up on last week's earthquake, but I wanted to get an opinion if it's maybe overstepping:

On the last several cruises or... world changes, we've had some degree of security / watch / etc. People have come together but it's kind of added to the chaos of our initial arrival trying to set up while everyone's sorting out our new environment, arrival procedures, and if/where everyone's loved ones are.

So I'd been thinking of posting to coordinate something like a meeting some 4-6 hours after arrival which gives people time to both assess our new situation and get their friends and family situated but also address security concerns expediently.

Is that just poking the bear? Would it read as too Bureau affiliated? It feels like a decent idea but, do you think it would be well-received?

I'm trying a spell to counter act the truth effect going around.

Natasha felt the beginnings of the rumbling. Her first instinct was not to drop to her knees or get under her desk; it was to brace for unconsciousness or another trip through a portal. In a few moments, she'd pitch forward, face first, and wake up in a bed, a chair, or somewhere else completely different. It was that time of year, after all. The cruises.

Earthquakes in west Texas weren't completely out of the question. It had the highest rate of activity, jumping in the last ten years from about two dozen to over a thousand. No one felt them though; they only registered with a seismograph. Natasha kept an eye on those.

Several moments passed before she realized it was just an earthquake. A regular, normal earthquake. One this strong was unusual here though. This one, this was going to cause some damage.

Immediately, she called out to the AI system. "Pull up local feeds. Hone in on Tumbleweed and west Texas. Get me all earthquake registers and pull them up on the screen. Send a notice to the Displaced."

I'm sure you've noticed the earthquake by now. It does not seem to be affecting only us. I'm seeing it pop up on Twitter, Facebook, and news sources. As of right now, it does not appear to be our time to head on another little adventure.

That doesn't mean this wasn't caused by the portal though. I need all portal techs and magicians in the office ASAP to look into it.

For everyone else, get somewhere safe. Get on the ground, take cover under sturdy furniture. Preferably something that can cover your whole body. Stay away from glass, windows, anything that is not nailed down. Cover your head and neck with your hands and stay put until it stops.

Has anyone else noticed a rather inconvenient habit of just saying exactly what you mean today? I believe I've left a stranger particularly unsettled. I'd like to figure out how to stop whatever's happened.

If anyone got new ships that take fuel not used here for Christmas, I'm still looking for fuel samples for experimenting in creating replication with our current materials.

Also I got more outside lab equipment! I'm going to fill up this whole warehouse. I just need to fit the old with the new and what I've already been working on.

Which of you is better at charming people to let us look at their ships? I've gathered up quite a few blueprints that we can model after to try and build prototypes in order to begin fuel testing stages.

If the other is more interested you can help me with breaking down what fuel samples we've gathered so far. I don't have a sample from each possible ship here so I'm not sure when we should stop bugging people for samples.

Also given you've both been here longer, though not involved necessarily with the portal directly, personal perspectives on phenomena could be helpful. Contextualize some of our data.

It feels rather strange to have Christmas decorations up. I suppose we did some decorating at Christmastime back home, but it's different. Dudley and Harry have been talking non-stop about Santa. It's nice to see them so excited about something.

I'm not sure if now is a good time to ask, but I was looking to change jobs. I've had some secretarial experience, but I know you have someone that works the desk. If, however, there are openings you need filled, I'd like to discuss them with you.

While I appreciate the faux snow setup in Phoenix Park, any interest in turning one of the other parks into a literal snowglobe? The 60 degree weather is apparently putting a crimp in my kid's holiday cheer, and I'm inclined to do something about it. I'm sure the locals won't mind. Been awhile since the town had a gas leak anyway.

I really should crack down and start looking for a job.

We're trying something a little new this year. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be holidays for the Bureau, but we'll need 6 volunteers to work Christmas Eve and Day in the three schedules for the portal and one doctor.

This is an experiment so it's first come, first serve on who works. And if we don't have enough, then we'll see if this is something we can do every year or not. Let me know which shift you can work. No swapping for back to back schedules; you get the same schedule on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I need you all frosty.
