Travel by portal still isn't my favorite, but I have to admit these are some pretty sweet digs they've put us up in. The rooms are great, there's plenty to do and school has a nicer view than Tumbleweed. All in all, I have to say I'm a fan, even if I'm probably really, really fired from my job if we ever get back. A problem for another day, I think.

Stating the obvious aside: we've made another jump. Some of you remember (and would like to forget) the Prettiest Star space cruise ship. This one is on water this time. From what I can tell, it's a luxury cruise ship. Most of what I've seen seems familiar to cruise ships on Earth, but who knows so make sure you're careful until we know exactly what we're dealing with.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year's. Santa brought me some of my clothes from home and my box of journals plus some new ones so I'm very pleased. What I could use now is a job, something part time after school and maybe on weekends? I worked for the school newspaper at home and my parents own the town paper so I've got experience there but I'm wiling to do anything.

Hello. This may get confusing fast. I'm Rey, but I'm not Rey. I've been here just a few days and she's filled me in on a lot of things already, like herself (ourself?) and this world.

I've never been on a "social network" before. Now that I've settled in, I can think of a few people and droids I've love to see. I'd like to meet more of you, too. I'll be looking for work as well. I'd like to do something different from what I grew up doing, so I'd welcome some new ideas. Thanks.

I wasn't sure what it would be like, being away from home at Christmas but it was a really good holiday. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if Polly could have been with us.
