I've returned to sad news, it would seem. If anyone would care to spar, I think tis a good way to handle mine feelings.

I suppose I should have said something sooner but I was hoping it had been a different case entirely... unfortunately, it looks like Daisy Johnson has returned back to our world instead of being out on a solo mission having forgotten to let me or Flash know. As I had originally hoped.

Unbelievable. I forgot for a moment why it had been so long since I had worked at a general hospital, but the setting is a fair it soothing if less... clean than SHIELD facilities. We have the clinical pathology lab to one wing of the hospital that is relatively calmer than the rest.

However, how hard is it for some employees to follow protocol! There is a certain amount of material we need to be tested, and no, it cannot be done in a matter of seconds, no matter how long you decide to wait and stand there, and yes, you most certainly do need to label the specimens with the patient's labels!

I do want to give them the benefit of the doubt, however, since it is July and it is the month of new medical residents, but oh, how I miss being on the Bus with Fitz and just creating new forensic scanning equipment.

Any experts or anyone dabbling in bioprocess engineering out there?

Signs that one should always be careful what they wished for: before I showed up here, I worried about having to figure out how to balance my life between saving the world, my career, and wedding planning and felt like something should let him to do at least one thing at a time! And now I'm in a world with none of those. No matter, though, because I've picked up two separate jobs to compensate. And possibly buy something pretty for the ball.

The switchover happened about a week ago, but Tony and I have spent the last few days monitoring for any interference or overall bad juju caused by the portal. As of this afternoon, we've given ourselves the green light.

Feel free to send any problems you may encounter our way. But there won't be any.

Funny thing about memory potions to keep you from losing other body parts: they also keep you from getting body parts replaced. Guess I'm stuck as a fucking cyclops.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who helped during these last few weeks while the Resettlement Bureau was getting on its feet. The primary goal of the organization is simple: greet new arrivals and set them up with what they'll need to get on their feet here. That means paperwork, helping them acclimate to Tumbleweed and Earth, finding their housing. The secondary goal is to study the portal, to see if there is a way we can figure out its agenda, where it came from, how to stop certain creatures from coming through or at the least, being prepared when they do.

These are now paid positions. If you were volunteering before, just come see me if you want to transition to paid.

Tiny, I wanted to thank you for establishing the food bank. I'd like to work directly with you to help those who first arrive who won't have a paycheck for a week or so. The Resettlement Bureau can help, but you've already got that in place and it would help foster relations with others. Do you have plans to make it an actual charity?

Tony (and Tiny), any ideas on a time frame for the reactor?

Military base is secure. We've determined there's no contagion. These people, unfortunately, were killed by something. Still unknown. We're digging through digital files, but I'm not that hopeful. 1999's idea of digital video is grainy at best, unwatchable at worst. Especially given that these are security cameras. Could use some help if someone wants to figure out the labeling system they've given these files. There's only one computer so three people in eight hour shifts. Trust me, those 8 hours are going to feel like 48. Bring music to listen to.

The power's back on. What we weren't expecting was that the entire building has a No Powers restriction on it. Electricity's on, no power. Power's off, abilities on. The building itself only vaguely resembles the layout from before. There's less medical facilities — all of it is emergency-related, and a curiously fresh batch of vaccines. Containers look a hell of a lot like the ones we got on the ship. Anyone want to come and test it to make sure it is what it says it is? Medical area has a bunch of pictures from the space pox we gave them in the 1950s as a warning.

There's a dated computer by the one room we can't get into. My guess would say that's the portal room, but why it's on lockdown, I couldn't say. Either the thing that killed them is locked down in there or they didn't want to risk the portal being accessed by the wrong people. No surveillance cameras are working at the moment. All but one of them have been destroyed by claw marks or bite marks. I'm not hopeful this thing didn't get out. Several exits have been compromised.

First things first, thanks Tony for setting up the food fundraiser. Unfortunately, money leads into my second point: we're going to need a lot of money to get this up and running again. We have no idea when any new arrivals might show up, what condition they'll be in, or how to figure out where and how their housing turns up. It's a logistical nightmare.

The improbability of each of these facts is staggering, and yet here we are, as if the last four years had never happened. I can live with that. But the cat is another thing entirely.

It is entirely possible that I may have asked one too many inappropriate questions about the anatomy and physiology of many Pokemon at the Aether Foundation. I'm not banned per se, but strongly encouraged to rethink my priorities before I step back through their doors again. Science appreciation and curiosity gets the best of me again.
