Week Nineteen: Friday

Who: James and Natalia
When: 9PM until ?
What: A date

James had honestly thought it would take longer to convince Natalia to go out with him, but he was wrong. It seemed that she was a sucker for a nice gift still. Either that or she just felt bad for him having lost his mother. That was a wound that was still rather raw, especially after having a few days to think about it. He truly was an orphan now. And he worried for his sister. She was out there alone again, with no one, no way to reach him. It scared him. He wanted so badly to help her but... She was stubborn, just like he was. And all of that was neither here nor there right now. Tonight he didn't want to think about any of those things, or even talk about them, though he was certain it would come up eventually.

Never being one to go out without a plan or without spending at least a few hours getting ready, one of which was on his hair, James had decided upon a new approach tonight. He had absolutely no idea what they were doing or where they were going. He had made no reservations, hadn't called a car, hadn't even bothered with bringing her flowers. And as for his appearance, he wore a pair of faded jeans and a long sleeved tee. His hair was free of product, left loose and soft upon his head, and his boots lacked their usual shine, opting for a pair of slightly scuffed black Lugz instead. He looked far more casual than fashion forward this evening and he felt more comfortable that way, oddly enough.

Natalia had said she would be ready at eight thirty but he had given her until nine o'clock before he knocked upon her door. The sound was quick and heavy as his knuckles rapped upon the wood, his hand moving down to be shoved into his pocket immediately thereafter. He leaned against the frame of the door as he waited for her, his eyes downcast upon his shoes. A slight frown darkened his features as he stood there. Cissy better be right about this shit. Then again, when was she ever really wrong? If there was someone who knew a lot about women, wouldn't it be a woman? It was worth a shot either way.

Week Seventeen - Tuesday

Who: Noah and Nat
Where: Outside school, fields and more!
When: Tuesday

Okay so maybe Noah was enjoying this. Maybe just a little bit. But what could he say, wind sprints were kind of fun if you were sick in the head like he was. And it wasn't like he was forcing anyone else to do them. It wasn't like the football team had a real coach or anything and it wasn't like practices were like the practices that he'd known for the vast majority of his life. Rather it was something that was supposed to be straight enjoyable.

That said, it was way easier to enjoy football if you could run for a while without you know... wanting to pass out. But he'd belying if he said he didn't kind of like that burning feeling that set in your legs when you pushed through the last sprint.

"COME ON NAT. SUCK IT UP." He yelled over his shoulder at her. Smirk on his face. If anyone else wanted to run these at the end of practice with him, so be it but he was going to make Nat do it. It was good for her. Or something like that. It would continue to do great things for her ass. Not that she needed anything done for her ass. Ahem. Moving on.

Noah finally came to a stop, bent slightly at the waist as he caught his breath, listening for the sound of Nat finishing up. Straightening back up he checked that his t-shirt was still tucked into the waistband of his shirts. It was too warm for that shit. Turning around he smiled over at Nat as he walked toward her. "So. Good practice eh?" He stretched an arm up and over his head, swinging it back down. "So you're not working right?" He actually already knew that, had called down to the bar and asked the manager for her schedule for the week, explaining that he was planning something for his best friend at the school. It was required that he have that bit of info. Was there a particular reason for the surprise extravaganza? No. Did he need one? Well maybe Noah just wanted to pay Nat back for being the sane one when he was having more than his fair share of issues. Lord knew he'd be a mess without her and that he couldn't thank her enough for. This was at least a start.

"Well even if you are..." His lips curved into a smile. "You're not gonna make it down there. I've got plans for you woman." The smile had turned into a full on grin. "But it's shower time and no complaints." Seriously was shower time, but that didn't stop Noah from moving forward in one fluid motion and hoisting Nat over his shoulder.

No if's, and's, or but's about the fact that he had an evening planned for her. And it was going to stay a surprise, mainly because he knew that would just drive Nat crazy. Perfect.

Week Fourteen: Thursday

Where: The beach
When: Evening after class
Who: Nat and Noah

Today was going to be a good day. No, today was going to be a great day! Not only did she have the night off from work, but she was finally getting some quality BFF time with Noah after the not so fabulous trip to Dublin. How long had it been since they had gone out and caught some waves together anyway? Obviously too long if she was having a hard time trying to remember. Poor Noah. She really did feel bad for him having to deal with this whole Summer thing. This supposed pregnancy, sorry Nat still wasn't buying it, had him all messed up in the head but at least he seemed to be snapping out of it. Hopefully an evening at the beach would help him come all the way out of his fog.

Having told Noah to just meet her out there since he had the latest class, Nat spent the time she had before needing to leave packing one hell of a picnic basket for them. Once the food was ready to go, she stopped by her room to change and grab her board and beach bag. Now rather than carry everything down to the beach herself, she stopped by Noah's room to leave her board with his. He did have that snazzy double board bag now and besides, she had slaved for hours and hours (not really) over their dinner so yup. He got to carry the heavy stuff.

After she left his room, she grabbed a blanket from the linen closet and headed on down to set everything up and scope out a good spot. The waves were breaking quite nicely and the weather was perfect for some night surfing. This was definitely going to be a great day er...night. Spreading the blanket out, she set the basket down and pulled out the towels she had brought along as well as the glow sticks just to keep everyone safe. Once that was all said and done, she took a seat and stared out across the water while she waited for Noah to show.

It wasn't too long before she caught his scent on the breeze and she turned and gave him a smile as he came down the hill leading to where she sat. "Hola, mijo!" she called with a little wave as she got to her feet. "You ready to get out there?" The cover-up she was wearing was pulled over her head to reveal the bikini that had been chosen for the day and was set off to the side. "Hurry, I want my board," she grinned as she made grabby hands.

Week Thirteen: Thursday

Who: Nat, and Rhett
Where: House of Fire common room briefly, then to dinner, etc...
When: Thursday at 7pm
What: A date, finally!

A cigarette... he really needed one right then. Why had he given up again? Oh yeah, he'd been supportive, trying to convince Ada that any addiction was able to kick. He honestly believed that, but he'd been smoking since he was sixteen, or there about. And with the full moon the following night, he was on edge, and that nicotine fix would do just the trick right now. Going on a date, smelling like smoke wasn't something he wanted to do. So, he was doing all he could to push the urge to the back of his mind. The last thing he wanted was for the smell of smoke to clash with the cologne he had put on for the night. No smoke, but he was without a doubt, having a drink, or two at dinner. That would help him relax, because really, he still didn't have this whole control thing down yet. Not that he would for some time.

Rhett sat on the arm rest of one of the chairs occupying the common room, his foot, which was slightly raised from the floor, given his way of sitting, swished back, and forth. A very twitchy motion, that seemed to be matched by the drumming of his fingers against the chair back. He almost had the urge to tear off his own skin, anything that would kill anxiousness. It was obvious to him, that the bear was raging to come out. One more night, then it would be over. Yup, a first date, so close to the full moon had not been the brightest idea. Though, he had no doubt that things would go well. Why wouldn't they? He, and Nat got along so well, they enjoyed flirting, and there was obvious interest on both ends. He was completely hopeful that the two would have a wonderful night together. He'd decided to dress casually for the most part, a bit dressy, as it was a date after all.

Amazingly, it wasn't her footsteps that first caught his attention, but rather her scent. He'd found that everyone had their own distinct scent, and the more he happened to be around someone, the more acutely he was able to recognize them, simple by that. Pretty much everyone in inner beast control he could smell coming. It had been really odd getting used to, but it was a part of who he was now, right? Might as well take advantage of this gift. Standing upright, he ran a hand through his hair, causing it to stand up a bit more messily, before he slipped his hands into the pockets of his jeans. As Nat entered the common room, he grinned. "Well well, fancy seeing you here." He moved across the distance between them, before leaning down to place a kiss against the corner of her mouth. "You look beautiful, darlin'." She always did, he couldn't imagine her having an off day. Didn't seem at all possible. There had been a part of him that feared she wouldn't show. Given how rocky a start they had previously had. Seemed life had been working against them for a while there.

Now, it seemed things were finally falling into place. And, if they could handle a date before the full moon, he was sure they could handle just about anything. "Ready to head off? I thought we might go grab a bite, have a few drinks." See where the night took them after that... yeah, he was going to blame that thought on his restlessness. "I don't know about you, but very rare meat, sounds amazing right now."

Week Thirteen: Wednesday

Who: Danny and Nat
Where: Hallways somewhere
When: Just after Classes

Danny was adjusting pretty well to being a vampire. Well, okay, probably only because he was refusing to ask himself those important questions, but still. His friend Charlie seemed to be doing a good job of that lately, and while his friends were free to walk down that road, Danny was steering clear of it for the time being. He preferred to view his newfound race as an extension on life instead of the damnation it would probably end up proving to be. Hey man, denial ain't just a river! And if that fell through, he could always fall back on the fact that he was probably going to hell anyway. Anger, Lust, Wrath, Pride...you name it.

Even Sloth was becoming predominant in Danny's life lately. What had he been doing since he got here? He saw Charlie a few times, but that's about it. Changing his sleep schedule and getting a job that required him to find the box where his needles had been shoved into seemed to take a lot out of the guy. And vampirism was one thing, but school...really? School. Life had a way of being ironic, he never wanted to be in class and look where that got him!

Not that taking classes were an entirely bad thing. Most of his were art related, and that was a-okay with him. He had just got out of his drawing class, pencils and sketchbook in hand when he rounded a corner and found some girl mumbling to herself and picking up a few books. It's not like Danny was in a rush, so he kneeled over and began to help her pick up what she dropped. "Dream Interpretation eh? So dreams of sunlight must mean I'm about to meet a pretty girl." he said, a big cheesy grin floating on his face as he winked at her. Danny was incapable of being serious in most cases, this was certainly one of them.

Week Twelve: Friday

When: Early evening
Where: Dublin
Who: Nat and Noah

So far this little vacation hadn’t been everything Natalia had hoped for. Now that wasn’t to say it was bad, but just not super fantastic great. Noah had been in some sort of funky mood for the first week and while he put forth an effort to play nice, it just wasn’t the same as happy Noah. So rather than giving him any time to actually fall into a true funk, Natalia drug him all over Dublin and when they ran out of stuff to see, she drug him up and down the coasts.

But even with the new were stamina, Nat was no super woman and so by the middle of the week she was ready to just relax and enjoy their final days there. Maybe all of the running around had been able to snap him out of whatever it was he was dealing with? Yeah, that’d be nice. If not then maybe she could smack him around a little until he was better? Oo, there’s an idea. Fortunately no beating was required and they spent their last couple of days just bumming around and being lazy.

After breakfast on their last full day there, it was decided that Natalia was going to go off and do some last minute shopping while Noah got to enjoy some time alone to do whatever he wanted (probably sleep) and that they would meet up at one of the local pubs for dinner and drinks. So with her trusty credit card in hand, she set off to put a major dent in her bank account. And oh was it worth it!

There were bags on top of bags in her hands when she was finally done and she questioned how she was going to get it all back to her room when some very nice and super cute Irishman offered his assistance. Oh how she loved this country, heh. After a few blocks of flirting and an invitation to grab a drink later, the bags were finally deposited and she had just enough time to change and meet Noah before she was super late.

Her cheeks were flushed and her hair was windblown as she practically ran inside of the pub. “Hola, mijo! Sorry I am late, but you wouldn’t believe the sales I found!”

Week Nine: Saturday

When: Night
Where: Heaven and Hell - Hell
Who: Ray and Nat apparently

Ray wasn't typically into the whole heaven and Hell bashes that were fucking put on. Generally that meant the place became packed with fucking idiots trying to be cool and shit became more trouble then it was wroth at the club. The whole wet and wild thing? Yeah not really for Ray but like he was going to say no to a bunch of chicks running around in soaked shirts? Sure in hell girls walked around with less then that but every man appreciated a good wet shirt on a woman. Just a nice fucking mental image to remember. Plus Ray had some business to do so it was one of those fuck it and go sort of moments for him.

A good few hours after everything got started around there Ray headed out to the club. There was no "dressing up" for Ray. Hell there never was. He just grabbed whatever was clean and rolled out for the night. Yeah not one of those guys that spent more time in the mirror then a chick did. That was just fucked up thanks. Needed to take a hard good look at priorities when staring at your own dick became that important.

A cab was taken down to the city and Ray pushed through the crowds of Heaven to get straight to where he frequented decently enough. Hell. Sure the kids up in Heaven were like kids in a candy store when it came to acid and all that but most were small timers. Not really worth the time or effort of cruising Heaven and listening to that poppy crappy ass music. Na Ray rather just stick to hell and spend a few minutes with some regulars to get his pockets lined. He had a trip to save up for after all. Not that money was ever really a damned issue for Ray. If he had it or if he didn't he always managed to make his way.

By the time Ray was done in the back Hell had gone from packed to damn near slammed with people. Apparently red water was fucking popular. That or people were just not into hanging out at the school tonight. Shit it was a Saturday, meant it was time to get the hell out of dodge and have some fun. But a vast majority of the school had a stick up their ass about finals and weren't looking for play. Whatever worked for them. Ray would be making money off of them soon enough with various forms of pick me ups.

Business done with for now, Ray could have peaced out but here he got free drinks so why run off to some other bar to chill at and pay for his shit? Well he only got the free shit if a few particular cute bartenders were working. They took care of each other and no one had any damned complaints about that one. Lucky for Ray one was smiling at him already as he made his way over to the counter.

“The usual dog boy?” Ray smirked, crashing himself down onto a stool. “You know it, and keep them fucking flowing alright?” the girl laughed, sliding a shot over to him to start him off while she got his other drink ready. Yeah staying when he had some hot asses to look at didn’t seem like such a bad move.

[info]mair_aderyn

Week Nine: Friday Evening

Who: Mair and Nat
What: Playing with sharp objects
Where: Outside the school
When: Friday evening

Mair hadn't bothered to change out of her riding clothes to meet Natalia to "study" for their final. She figured studying for this particular class involved actually using the swords and swinging at one another (she forgot what the actual word for it was), so riding boots and a polo shirt should work just fine. Her tall leather boots were broken in enough that they were as comfortable as trainers anyway. Her hair was in a messy ponytail, slightly mussed from having worn a helmet while exercising the horses she'd been training. One of them had been quite a handful today. He'd gotten a stone bruise on his hoof about a week back and had been cooped up in his stall to recuperate, and now that he was all better he was definitely in high spirits. He'd even thrown in a couple of playful bucks as they'd trotted around the arena, but it had been nothing bad enough to unseat Mair. He was only playing, and while she had to get the point across that the behavior was unacceptable, she couldn't be too upset.

She'd made a stop by the gym to pick up the equipment she'd need and was now sitting on the grass outside the door closest to where their class was held. Rhys, ever by her side, was pouncing on crickets nearby, catching them between his paws and then letting them go so he could chase them again. The little red fox was trouble, but he always made Mair smile. For someone who moved at warp-speed most of the time, she was incredibly patient when it came to animals. They were part of her element and as such managed to sooth her.

Her weapon (even though it was blunted, of course, for safety's sake) was laying discarded in the tall grass next to her. The cool early evening air felt good, and she was suddenly struck with the urge to lay back and look up at the sky, so she did, clasping her hands behind her head. No sooner had she relaxed than Rhys pounced on her stomach, growling playfully. "Hey!" she exclaimed, laughing as she sat back up. "You scared me, you daft thing," she said, allowing him to brace his paws on her chest so he could lick her face.

Week Eight: Tuesday May 21st, 2007

Who: James and Natalia
Where: A garden on the roof
What: A chat
When: Early Evening
Rated: TBD

James knew it was just a matter of time before he convinced her to meet with him. He had waited for a while after the initial run in, long enough for her to think about him constantly, to wonder about him, long enough for his face to heal and for him to calm down, before even making the approach and to be perfectly honest, she had caved much sooner than he had anticipated but such was Natalia. She could never really say no to him for long. And it seemed that her will had even more depleted since first he met her. It was sort of sad, really, but it benefited him. Almost made him wonder how long it would take before he had her in his bed again. Once that was out of the way, she would be wrapped around his little finger again and all he had to do after that was take care of Noah. Fun.

James had arrived on the rooftop before she had, dressed as nice as always, a white button up shirt that was left untucked and unbuttoned halfway, a nice pair of jeans that were loose and rode low on his hips, and a pair of black boots. Everything he wore was designer label, as always, and as always, not a hair was out of place upon his head. One could deny many things about him but they could never deny that he knew how to dress, and that he smelled good enough to tie to a bed and molest for days. At least that was what he was hoping. Then again, there was the off chance that she had grown tired of his pretentious clothing and his cologne that cost more for an ounce than he was certain Noah spent on hygiene items for a year. But that wasn't very likely. What girl wouldn't want a man that looked and smelled like him? They'd have to be insane not to. And as for what was on the inside... well one could never say that he loved without passion.

A quick look around the place and he had decided where he wanted to be, and what he wanted to be doing when she arrived. He took his pocket knife out of his pocket and cut one of the fullest, most beautiful roses he could find and then positioned himself directly next to the door that she would take out into the garden so that she would not see him and so that, first thing, he could offer the rose out to her for her to take. Perhaps that was a bit... corny for his taste, but he had a bit of sucking up to do if he wanted back into her good graces, and he was not fool enough to think that it would not take a while and a lot of groveling, despite the churning sensation the mere thought of that instilled inside his stomach.

Week Six: Friday

Who: ANYONE AND EVERYONE
Where: Heaven
When: Friday Night
What: Charity Date Auction

Eva was something beyond excited. It fluttered about her with nervous energy. If she were out in the open water no doubt there would have been small eddies forming around her in response to the energy she gave off with each and every breath as she hurried about Heaven getting all the last finishing touches done on her crowning achievement. Eva had done her fair share of party planning over the years at Halcyon, she loved being in the mix helping set a mood. And let's face it the girl loved a party... especially a theme party.

But this was something more. It was something that had been entirely her idea. Born of... who the hell knew where but it did put together all her favorite things. Flirting, dating, runway shows, Heaven... the list really could go on. Even in her egotistical glory Eva knew that she couldn't have completed this event without the girls that had volunteered to help out. Taylor, Sam and Frankie had been fantastic, picking up on all the things that Eva was horrible at... you know like the practical aspects of the whole event.

The night had a beach theme as was befitting the charity chosen for the evening and Eva couldn't have been happier. Heaven had been decked out, Vale's assistant proved to be more than helpful at helping her organize the decorations and getting the staff to help out. A runway had been constructed with a podium at the back where Eva planned to do her auctioning from. Tropical plants lined the runway for the dates to strut their stuff along. Eva was almost jealous that she wasn't doing any strutting herself and with the outfit she'd donned for the night... she felt like she could. Perhaps not traditionally beach themed but it was a swimming suit... of sorts and as the auctioneer she thought she needed to glam it up and set herself a part a little.

But when didn't Eva think she needed to set herself a part from the crowd.

Eva exchanged a few last words with the bartenders for the night, making sure that mai tais and other tropical drinks were the order for the night. She wove her way through the tables that had been set up a bit aside from the runway, brightly colored umbrellas over them to add to the theme. She ensured that there was plenty of food ready for people attending and finally she made sure that man at the door was ready to take the $10 dollar cover charge. It was for a charity after all!

Now all she had to do was make sure that the meat er... the dates were ready for their big night!

Week Five: Wednesday

Who: Nat, Ada and Kim
When: Afternoon – After the last class
Where: House of Fire common room and then the city!

Natalia had been looking forward to her little shopping excursion all week and as a result, ended up having a difficult time paying attention during her last class. It also didn’t help that she had found herself making eyes at Rhett more than once during the lecture. That man was going to get her into trouble one of these days, she just knew it. Ugh, she really needed to stop acting like some love struck teenager! It also didn’t hurt that whenever she caught Noah’s eye that he made a face or rolled his eyes at her. Jerk. Good thing she loved him.

When class finally reached its conclusion, Natalia practically ran for the door. She needed to get back to her room, change her shoes, grab a coat and her purse, and dump her school stuff. Once all of that was taken care of, she hurried down to the common room and waited for the other girls to show so that they could take off. How long had it been since she had spent the day shopping with some other females? Too long, that was for sure. Yeah, Noah was good for carrying bags and what not, but it wasn’t like he actually enjoyed watching her try on outfit after outfit.

As soon as the other girls were good to go, they headed outside to meet a cab and off they went! Random chatter was exchanged during the ride over and Natalia bounced a bit when they filed out of the car. “I hope you girls are ready for some serious shopping because I have heard that there are some awesome sales going on and I plan on putting a large dent in their inventory.” A wicked smile was flashed along with a wink as she linked an arm through each of the girls’ and pulled them toward the first store.

“What do we think? Shoes or swimsuits first?”

Week Four: Friday

Who: Natalia and Rhett
When: Right after Inner Beast Control
Where: Hallway and then?

Natalia couldn’t remember the last time she had woken up so sore or out of sorts. It felt like she had been tossed off her board and then beaten with it a few dozen times. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant feeling. Hell, the last time she had overindulged in tequila she hadn’t woken up in this much pain! Who knew the whole shifting thing could totally kick one’s ass like that? Jeez. Thankfully she wasn’t expected to be in any of her classes so she was able to sleep off some of the discomfort.

When she woke up again sometime around lunch, she still felt like crap but fortunately it was a little better. After a nice long, hot shower and a little food, it was decided that she was feeling okay enough to attend her last class of the day. She didn’t want to be a complete slacker after all and Inner Beast Control was definitely an important class to attend. Besides, she wanted to hear what the instructor had to say about the day after the full moon. That and she had a few questions about the night before. So she got dressed in the one outfit that didn’t take any brain power to pull together and made her way to class.

Unfortunately her attention wasn’t one hundred percent and she found her mind wandering more than it was focusing on what was being taught. Even though she did remember to ask a couple of the things she had wanted, she found herself counting down the seconds until class was over. So maybe next time she would just sleep in since she was essentially useless.

As soon as their time was up, Natalia was out of her seat and headed for the door. There was only one thing on her mind as she headed out into the hall and that was the Jacuzzi. Nothing better to sooth away some aches and pains like some hot bubbling water! All she had to do was swing by her room for a quick change and the soak her cares away. Though there was one little problem and that was the lack of her notebook. Crap. In her rush out the door she had totally forgotten it at her desk. She didn’t realize that it had been left behind until she heard someone calling after her and turned to see it in her classmate’s hand. “My hero,” she smirked. “Gracias.”

Week Three: Thursday

Who: Rafe and Natalia
Where: outside the school
When: Thursday night

The sound of the wind outside had been distracting Rafe all day long. It almost sounded as if a storm was brewing, though there were no indications that rain, thunder or lightning were imminent. It was also warm, or at least that was what he overheard from students coming in from outside. Most of the time, he didn't miss the daylight all that much; he'd always been more of a night person. In that respect, being a vampire suited him perfectly. Today, however, he found himself thinking with something close to nostalgia about the feel of sunlight on closed eyelids as he tipped his face up to the sun. It was warm in a way that heaters could not duplicate, more soporific than the strongest sleeping pill.

There was no point in dwelling on it, really, but Rafe was in the mood to dwell on impossible things today, apparently. The private message conversation he'd had with Charlie not long ago had started him thinking about his own Sire during odd moments. He couldn't help wondering where Thomas was, what he was doing, and it didn't seem to matter how often he told himself that he was better off not knowing. Despite the fact that Thomas had wanted a type of closeness from him that he hadn't been able to give, the man was his Sire. The ties between them were undeniable, and the way they'd parted had made it even worse. He'd either stopped trying to contact Rafe, or else the wards the school had in place had fully kicked in. The complete silence either way made Rafe uneasy, because it made him wonder what the man was up to.

He wandered through the day in a mental fog, coming out of it only when he'd seen Tay briefly in the hall between classes. She could more than likely tell that he was in a mood, but there hadn't been time to talk about that, or anything much beyond basic pleasantries. In the very brief time they'd had, he'd tried to make it obvious that his mood wasn't related to her in any way. In the past, he'd been bad about letting her wonder if maybe it was something she'd done, or said, or hadn't done or said. Overall, he was doing better with his jealousy issues, though he still wasn't keen on her friendships with some of the guys here, most particularly Starbuck. It even made him a little bit twitchy when she was friendly with Charlie, because he knew what a player the guy was, but he also knew Tay well enough to know that she'd never fall for that sort of thing.

It was all good, everything was fine, or at least, that was how he'd have it to be. Maybe he just needed a little time to decompress. After he'd partaken of his dinner blood bag, he'd gone to clean his teeth and splash some water over his face, trying to decide if he was going to start his homework like a dutiful student or blow it off for a while. The restless mood he was in decided him. Homework could wait. In deference to the balmy weather, he changed into jeans and a short-sleeved blue t-shirt in his room. It was fully dark by now, and he took the stairs down to the Terrene House entrance and then a short way down the corridor to the outside door, pushing his way out into the windy evening.

Clouds moved across the sky, intermittently obscuring the moon, and Rafe wandered away from the main entrance, where people would be passing in and out, everyone with the same goal of enjoying the night. As he stood at the very outside edge of one of the pools of illumination cast by the nearest landscape light, he took a deep breath that he didn't really need. Los Angeles seemed like a world away, and maybe it was. He was a different man in many ways than he'd been then... actually, he'd be a dead man right now if Thomas hadn't pulled him out of the wreckage of his cycle that night months ago. It was a chilling thought, particularly to Rafe, who even when he'd been human was arrogant enough to feel as if he might live forever.

He lifted his fingers as if to physically pull the winds to him, setting a pile of dry leaves spinning in a jagged circle. It took concentration, but not as much as it had when he'd first started working with air manipulation. Spin... spin... spin. His blue eyes were intent as the mini-cyclone grew, composed of leaves, a couple of twigs, even dirt particles. He wondered how long he could keep it spinning, how large he could make it grow. No time like the present to find out.

Week One: Saturday, April 6th, 2007

Who: Charlie and Ada (and anyone else who wants to join!)
When: Saturday night
Where: Heaven

Charlie was a bit disappointed that he and Ada were sent upstairs to perform. Their shit apparently wasn't 'hard' enough to earn them a billing in the basement (which was where the better party was clearly located). Eh, he still planned to head downstairs later. Hell was a far better venue, and he'd take it over Heaven any day (unless we're talking about the REAL heaven and hell, because then he would much rather ascend). Regardless, he, Ada and Suoh would rock out and give the kids a good show.

He was excited and a little nervous about performing tonight. It hadn't been that long since his last gig, but that last performance with Torque was the night he met Val and became a vampire. He couldn't get the bitey bitch out of his thoughts as he and and the others did a mini sound check just before the show. They'd not had much practice, but Charlie was confident they'd play great. He'd learned all of Ada's songs, and she'd learned his. And Suoh, a crazy ass Japanese man who didn't seem to speak much English, was some sort of musical savant. That fucker picked up all the songs in a matter of hours!

They were going to play a set of six tonight. Three of Ada's songs (Gunpowder and Lead, Kerosene, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and three of Charlie's (Stay Another Night, Vice, and In The City). It hadn't been hard at all to pick the songs. Clearly, Ada was still bitter about the douche she was rebounding from, because her song choices were filled with all sorts of just-got-dumped anger. Charlie felt they would get the audience geared up. Ada's songs had that country flavor, but they had a hardness and rawness that got his attention, and he was sure others would enjoy as well. Charlie's music was straight rock, and he planned to actually sing lead on them. Back home, he left most of the singing to Lewis, but Charlie had a good voice, and the songs were more geared to a man's sound. Besides, he wrote the fucking songs, he should be singing them! Hopefully, it would help him score some quality tail after the performance.

Just before going on stage, Charlie did two quick lines of blow. He wanted a bit more, but he couldn't afford to lose his head. He was worried Val was in the audience, and if he saw her, he planned to give her a piece of his mind. Fuck the whole 'not hitting women' thing. That really only applied to ladies, and Val was no lady! The Bitey Bitch needed to get her ass handed to her, and Charlie felt up to the task.

But, he tried to put thoughts of her aside as he looked to Ada and Suoh. With a nod, Suoh counted them in, and soon enough, Charlie and Ada joined in on guitar and bass. The sound was good, really good. Amazing that three people with such limited experience playing together could rock out like that, but they did, and Charlie felt all his problems melt away. As the three played their intros... Ada addressed the crowd, giving credit where credit was due, to the man who done her wrong, "This song's for any of you girls out there who've ever been mistreated by a man..." And so it began. The girl had serious chops, and she owned the stage when she was on it. She wasn't the most stunning woman upon first glance, but it was hard to take your eyes off her when she performed. Charlie joined in as backup, and it wasn't long until the crowd started to get into it.

Week One: Friday

When: Friday after class
Where: Some random hall
What: Nat’s lost! Oh noes.
Who: Nat and OPEN!

To Natalia it felt like her first two days were going as well as could be expected. Her classes were definitely interesting and Noah was already fulfilling his role as the overprotective best friend so really, she felt right at home. As much as it sucked having to be there and dealing with the whole supernatural thing, she was glad Noah wasn’t going through it alone. Sure she knew that he would forever kick himself for bringing her into this but this was for the best. He needed someone and what better someone than his childhood best friend? Besides, he had saved her from the bad situation in New York so they were even now.

Since everything was all hunky-dory, Nat decided that there wasn’t any better time than the present to get out and explore the school. With the map she received on her first day in hand, she set out on her own to figure out where everything was and see what there was to discover. She was doing quite well navigating the halls when she suddenly found herself facing a wall that shouldn’t have been there. Crap.

She tried to backtrack and get back to a place where she knew were she was but it just wasn’t working out. A heavy sigh parted her lips as she stared down at her map and twisted it in her hands, silently hoping that a different perspective would help her out. Unfortunately it wasn’t working and she had just yet begun to discover her heightened senses so it wasn’t like those would do her any good. Sigh.

A string of mumbled Spanish swear words filled the air as she ran her fingers through her silky dark hair and she was about to just sit down and wait for someone to rescue her when she heard some footsteps approach.
