Week 19 - Saturday

Who: Jillian and Vinnie!
When: Saturday Night
Where: The beach!

After their date last Monday, Jillian had been dying to see Vinnie again. Unfortunately, classes had kept her insanely busy and she hadn't gotten the chance to meet with him again until Saturday night. Thankfully, it was Saturday night!

Taking a cab to the town, she shopped around for a little bit, buying a small amount of snacks, all finger foods. Little sandwiches with cold cuts and cheese, some desserts, and a little selection of fruits and veggies. Overall it was pretty healthy, since Jillian didn't know what Vinnie liked to eat. She'd snuck what they needed to make smores in the basket too, because what was a bonfire without smores?

She made her way to one of the more secluded beaches with a blanket and a basket of food, setting everything down to the side before she started to gather wood for a bonfire. There was a pit already there so all she had to do was set the fire up and start it, which was easy enough given that she'd replaced her kit already.

She had dressed in her bikini with a sundress over it. She wouldn't mind a swim, even though the water would be a little cool. Once the bonfire was set, she glanced over and spotted a dark shape walking over towards her. She smiled, waving once before she sank down onto the blanket she'd set down beside the fire. The sun hadn't set yet, so it was still nice and light, but she knew that wouldn't last for long.

Who: Simon and Jillian
What: Downtown Merriment
Where: Downtown
When: Saturday Afternoon

There was alcohol lining the streets. Quite literally. The local shops were celebrating the anniversary for discovering the finest romance beverage ever created- champagne. Some stores were making quite a hooplah about it, giving out small samples in cups (to of-age patrons only, unless the manager wasn't looking), selling candies, even giving out tiny platters of champagne Jello, the most bastardized version of the bubbly.

Simon had managed to snag a few samples, and was feeling the effects quite well in the heat. It was pleasant. He'd decided to go shopping for a ring, hopefully a cheap one. He was not a boy with much money. Either that, or he'd find himself a job down here. Whichever.

He finally came upon a nice jewelry store, one that didn't look too expensive but would still have nice stuff. He didn't want anything cheaply made. The door chimed as he walked in, and a sweet smell filled the air. he breathed it deeply.

"Champagne candle," the cashier explained. "Are you drunk?"
"No," he told her, making a face. But he kinda was. Just a little. Browsing though the array of shinies, he ignored the chime of the door as it opened again.

Week Seventeen - Sunday

Who: Selene and Jillian
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: Selene's office

Stark raving bitch. That was one way to describe Selene's behavior with most everyone as of late. Did she wish to apologize for this behavior? Maybe someday. But not at the moment. She did wish to curb it, at least somewhat when she was within the school walls. Her bitterness aside, she knew it didn't deserve to be directed toward the student body. She had been a young person once, she had been turned and introduced into a whole new world and did understand how... complicated it could be. Especially for those that lacked the guidance that she'd had.

But such reminders of Cassius only served to set such progress toward tempering her behavior back another notch.

The weekend had been spent with the usual amount of time spent away from the school. As much as was possible that was. She had stuck to her office for the minimum of her office hours, though she was rather certain her surly demeanor in most of her classes had discouraged questions from most outside of class. That was preferably at the moment but she knew it wasn't what was expected and she would have to cease her behavior sooner rather than later. Her agreed upon appointment with one of her neglected guide students was perhaps step one on this path to righting her temperament. Or maybe it would just be a test to see how long it was she could hold her temper in check. Hopefully longer than with that were Sydni.

She had done her part, dressing as she typically did in the school setting. Black pencil skirt, a soft gray sleeveless blouse and black sling back heels. There was something to be said for dressing the part, it was almost half the battle. She seated herself at her desk and forced her mind to settle on reading over notes and assignments from her classes, best to keep the academic mindset as she awaited Jillian.

Week 17 - Wednesday

Who: Jillian and Caibre
Where: Woods
When: Wednesday

It was evening, sunset to be precise, and Jillian couldn't think of a better time to go hiking. She preferred dawn and dusk to make her way through the wilds here, the streaked sky casting the forest in a kaleidoscope of colors, bringing out the true beauty of the greenery surrounding them. There weren't many people out and about at those times. Being a Wednesday evening, the chances were that everyone was doing home work or staying in to study. Heh. Which one was the more likely? Probably procrastination.

Hiking boots crunched over leaves and dead fall, branches crackling under her feet as she picked her way through the treeline. There was a path, but Jillian never followed paths unless she was actually lost, and that didn't happen often. She paused, reaching into her bag for her water, and she glanced up.

The feeling of being watched was one that Jillian got often. Being a psychic, specifically one that couldn't control her own powers, tended to give her that paranoia, but this was far more real. She was being watched. She looked around, her body stiffening, and she cleared her throat.

"Hello?" she called out, her lips tightening as she pushed off of the tree. She tried reaching out with her mind, but she got nothing. Damnit, work for once... Capping her bottle and slipping it into her bag, she started walking again, glancing over her shoulder once more.

Week 16 : Wednesday

Who: Jillian and Vinnie
When: Wednesday Afternoon After Classes
Where: Soccer Field

Finally - a chance to take pictures for photography! She was beginning to think that photography was just full of boring lectures about light and shutters and film developing. Angles and exposures. Jillian smiled now though. A camera in hand, she made her way out to the field, intent on capturing photos of movement as the class had been instructed to. Surely she'd find someone out there, doing something. The camera bag bumping against her hip as she walked, she trod down the path for a while before stopping, finding exactly what she was looking for on the soccer field.

A lone figure was out in the field, practicing with a soccer ball, so she paused and aimed her camera, snapping a picture of him in mid-kick. The guy was pretty good, moving around the ball with an ease that suggested plenty of practice. She moved a little closer, leaning in, and she snapped another picture before she realized that she probably should have asked him before she started snapping away. Kicking herself, she lowered the camera and then walked over slowly, clearing her throat. She stumbled a little over a seemingly clear patch of grass, cursing herself before she righted up and looked out at the guy. What a time to be clutzy. Then again, why did it surprise her? She tripped over nothing all the time.

"Excuse me?" she asked, feeling silly and a little embarrassed, especially when she caught a glimpse of his face. He was cute. Wrinkling her nose, she waited, holding up the camera in one hand as she tried to force her face into a friendly easy smile, even if it looked far more timid than easy.

Week 16, Monday

Who: Jillian and Ita
Where: Aquatic House / Out on the Town
When: Evening, After Classes
What: Free ice cream!

After her early Monday morning hike, the day had been dull, with the exception of her conversations online and a rather riveting Supernatural History class, and Jillian was ready to get out and do something. She'd put out her message online and gotten a bite from Ita for going out on the town. Ever since she'd caught wind of the "National Ice Cream Day" bit, she'd been excited about getting out of the school and going to get her free goodies. Jillian's budget was limited and a trip into town for some free stuff wouldn't damage that budget in the slightest. Some time hanging out with Ita wasn't a bad thing at all, either. It was a win-win situation and Jillian was eager for her classes to end so that she could go and get ready to get out.

She wondered if she should go and shop for some shoes while she was in town, but she decided against it. First, she'd have to figure out what her real budget was, and then she could go about figuring out how to deviate from it slightly without her aunt wondering what she just spent a wad of money on. The unfortunate thing about having your school time bankrolled by your psychic aunt was that she'd eventually ask what you'd spent her money on, and sexy shoes for a friend's birthday "party" probably wouldn't exactly count as a necessity in her aunt's mind. Jillian didn't need to be psychic to be able to figure that one out.

After changing her clothes into something a bit more comfortable and slathering her exposed skin with the SPF 50 sunblock she'd forgotten this morning, she headed over to the Aquatic House to go and gather up Ita so that they could roam out to hunt down their free tasty treats.

Week 15, Saturday

Who: Jillian and Simon
When: Saturday Late Afternoon
Where: Outdoors at the School
What: Wandering around outside

Jillian might have been exhausted, but it would have taken a lot more than sheer exhaustion to make her stay in her room longer than a good sleep cycle. She'd managed to sleep for sixteen straight hours after she'd gotten back from the beach. Taking a break for a bit of food, she fell back into bed for another fourteen hours and she'd still felt drained when she awoke, but she couldn't just lie in bed. No, it was driving her nuts staring at the ceiling, even if she was bone tired. She thought about seeing what Ita was up to, but she remembered that Ita was surfing today with Xander, who probably wasn't feeling tired in the slightest.

Jillian had made a lot of claims before about needing to be dragged out of her room, but it wasn't really the case at all. She needed to be dragged from her solitude more than anything else. So she pulled herself out of bed, took a long shower, and dressed. Throwing on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, she slipped on her sandals and made her way out of Zephir House.

Walking slowly, she padded down the pathway away from the school. Pausing, she looked at the landscape around her, trying to decide on where she wanted to go. Gardens? Forest? Beach? Did it matter? She just felt like walking. Getting out of bed. Heading off in a random direction, she walked, clearing her head of all thoughts until she was just walking and nothing else. Thankfully, she was tired enough that she couldn't make out a single outside thought. What was normally a rather annoying rumble of voices in her head was a pleasant buzz instead. So, clearly, exhaustion was a way to quiet up the voices. Who knew?

Winding her way down a path and then picking her way across the ground, disappearing into the trees, Jillian was so focused on walking and enjoying the scenery that she didn't realize that she relied so heavily on her powers to tell when someone was near. That being said, when someone came close, she didn't see them, and just kept moving, humming a little as she walked.

Week 14, Sunday

Who: Jillian and Kate
What: Climbing trees
Where: Outdoors
When: Early Evening

Halcyon was...huge. Jillian was small-town bred, in that the small town she was from was minuscule compared to this sprawling campus. Her town didn't have a mall, barely had a grocery store, and certainly didn't have a beach. It was too easy to get lost here and Jillian had succeeded in that more often than she had finding anything. The benefit of it being large, though, was that it meant that Jillian didn't really run into too many other students. She was fairly good at avoiding people, mostly because she was like a broken radio. Silence sometimes burst into unfamiliar thought and she just moved in the direction where there was no more noise. Sometimes she had to walk in the direction of the thoughts, but she just kept her eyes low and her bag tucked close to her shoulder, moving down whatever paths she could find. Sure, she was a little paranoid since finding out that there were all sorts of creatures and kinds of people she hadn't knew existed twelve hours before, but she hadn't run into anyone who'd attempted to eat her yet. She knew that she was close when the paths ended and she saw the sand of beach. According to what Easton had said, the woods shouldn't be far from here, and she'd be able to find a tree worth climbing soon enough.

She'd worn her hiking boots and jeans, even if it was a bit warm for that, and a dark thermal that she knew wasn't going to make her stand out in the leaves. Her bag was filled with tree-climbing goodies. Gloves, a flashlight, some snacks, even a book. She loved to read hidden up inside of trees, and at least she'd be able to tell her aunt that she'd actually been outside and that she had met some people (and she had, even if they weren't face to face.) Maybe her Aunt wouldn't even disapprove, cause frankly, online interactions were great, since she wasn't going to be picking up on any stray thoughts from the person she was conversing with. It was getting dark, so Jillian pulled her bag off of her shoulder and reached into it, fishing around for her flashlight.

Palming it, she found the beginning of the woods and moved into the trees. For once, she didn't trip over her feet, moving over the fallen limbs and branches and roots easily. It was funny, really. Give her a flat surface and she'd fall on her ass. Mess it up with some greenery and she skated over it like flat perfect ice. Flashing her light into the trees, she found a large one, smiling at it's promise. Slipping her gloves on, she shifted her bag back onto her shoulders and started the upwards trek, getting a good foothold before she lifted herself against the trunk.
