Week Twelve: Wednesday

Who: Jasper, Micah and Cassandra
When: Wednesday Evening
Where: Jasper's dorm room

Had it already been a week and a half? Cassandra could hardly believe that fact. But looking at the small planner she kept in her bag to keep track of dates and school assignments... it had been just that. But what glared up at her like a flashing fluorescent light was the Friday that was circled in red pen. That was the day that they were headed back to Halcyon. It seemed all too close all of a sudden.

It wasn't that Cassandra didn't want to go back to the school. She loved Halcyon, loved the classes and the sense of community there that she'd had for the first time in almost all her memory. She loved that she had family there and that she had friends. But she would be the first to say that it hadn't entirely been the same since Jasper left. Quiet as he could be... he was one of the first people she had met at the school aside from Sarah, God rest her soul. Micah and Jasper meant the world to her. Without them... she doubted that she would feel half as comfortable at the school as she did.

So really her reluctance to leave only had to do with the fact that she'd truly miss Jasper when they headed back to Halcyon and he remained here at this fantastic school.

It was almost too fantastic and by that Cassandra just meant that it was almost overwhelming. Well it was overwhelming. But then again Halcyon still tended to have that effect on her sometimes. So a human college full of students running to classes and socializing... easily had that effect. But she liked to think that she had weathered it through the tour of the school that Jasper had given and just the general time they had spent on campus.

Granted it was all a whole lot easier when she was with two people she trusted.

The whole dorm situation was still odd, well the fact that she was having to use the girls restrooms in another hallway and the fact that they were all crammed into Jasper's room. Thankfully it was a single! It was late but Cassandra had spent most of the day just catching up on reading in Jasper's room while he was in class and Micah was off doing whatever it was that Micah was up to that day. So the shower she'd taken had come rather late in the day. Her hair was still in a towel when she made it back to the room, though she was fully dressed thank you very much. Her typical attire, t-shirt and jeans. She wondered if she should try and find something nicer and maybe suggest they all go get something to eat... but it kind of seemed like an expense that wasn't necessary.

Cassandra was just happy spending time with the two of them. They just both needed to get back to the room!

Week Ten: Friday

Who: Kalli, Micah, Cassandra
When: After Classes
Where: Outside

If anyone had met Kalli in the last few weeks they'd probably describe her as quiet and shy. Usually she couldn't be any further away from those two words, but they had been fairly accurate lately. After getting back from her trip home she felt a little torn, wishing she could exist in two places at once. It weighed heavily on her mind for awhile, and seemed to damper her usually vibrant personality.

The school was so beautiful, and the people there only added to it's beauty. Kalli felt at home in the school as much as anywhere else she had been. But she had also made a promise to herself that if she ever found someone she could call "family" she'd fight tooth and nail to keep it. And Kalli did find that family, only she wasn't with them. She couldn't help but wonder if she was betraying a part of herself in not being with them, and the only way she could describe how she was feeling was 'torn between two places.' What could she do? Stay at the school and leave something she had wanted for the better part of 26 years, or go home and spend the rest of her life wondering what could have been at the school? There were so many questions rattling in Kalli's head for the last few weeks. Did her priorities change? Was that okay? Why was she even putting so much thought into it?

It became clear that Kalli needed time to think so she took a little hiatus from her outgoing self to do a little soul searching. She couldn't feel like she was cheating herself for much longer, she needed to figure out where she should be and she needed to make sure she was comfortable with it. A week was all it took though. Soon, she was her usual vibrant self, perhaps even more so now that the sun was finally shining. Her decision was resting peacefully - even though it hurt a little that she couldn't mother her adopted siblings, knowing that her family supported her being at the school made the choice a lot easier. At Halcyon she would stay!

In fact today... )

Week Eight: Friday

Who: Grey and Micah
Where: Between Heaven and Hell; private side-lounge
When: Just after 10PM
What: A meeting long delayed

The lounge had been aired and cleaned before the night rush had begun. Now it stank of the fetid cigarette smoke that refused to fully vent out from the constant smoking. There had been a large party in there previously, but Grey had sent them out. He had business to attend to.

Somewhere in Heaven and Hell, Micah was waiting. He knew he would show up. All he had to do, after all this time, was send a cryptic note and his nose led him. Some might expect a lot of planning went into this deal, but in reality it had taken minutes. The Full Moon was such an obviously exploitive event and something you learned about real quickly on the island. He'd borrowed a pen from the bartender and a card from the club, scribbled two words and the first letter of his name and handed it off to kNock for delivery.

Been Waiting. -G

The card said the room didn't open until 8PM. After nightfall. When a ton of shit wouldn't go between there and the school. Once Micah was there he let him marinate for some hours. This shit ran on Grey's time and not the other way around. That was an essential part of the Hustle, things ran on your time. He'd run into Jasper on his time. He called this meeting with Micah on his time.

The room had no windows and modernist eastern-european design modern retro black leather and chrome couches. Grey sat in a swivel seat in the middle of the room. The back high enough and his slouch so pronounced he couldn't be seen over the back, but for the sprawl of his legs. He was facing the door at a three-quarter angle, shot of Jaeger on the shining black table next to him, as Micah came in the door.

A shit-eating grin. "Micah! Howareya?"

Week Six: Tuesday

When: Late Afternoon
Where: Hopefully where no one can see! (Nearby clearing to House Zephyr)
Who: Evelyn and Micah
What: Flight Lesson!

It wasn't ever anything that Lyn found odd.

Her mother died when she was so young, she only had bits and pieces of memory of her. She does remember her mother's wings, but they were so ethereal...so uniquely her mother...that Evelyn never thought to question why she didn't have wings. Her father didn't have them and neither did her grandmother.

Still, even without wings, it seemed her genetics found her and she was gifted with the same power of flight that is the heritage of her mother's people. Even after she met up with other Fae, it just wasn't a priority for her. It made her feel even more different, kind of freakish. Though her boyfriend at the time was instrumental in assuring her that it was anything but freakish, that everything in her fae blood was more natural than she could imagine.

If only she'd taken more of an interest in flight before her accident, she might not be a little weary of being so high up. She already knows first hand how bad a fall can be from a given height. But if she's going to master this, she's going to have to master her fear. Which is why she made her way away from Terrene house to meet up with someone who can hopefully help with that.

Week Four: Tuesday

When: Just before sunset
Where: Outdoors, one of Jaspers favorite spots
Who: Jasper and Micah

Jasper had been keeping to himself lately. That in itself was really not all that unusual but when you factored in that he was scarcely even visiting the library and he'd not answered any requests for tutoring....that’s when it became a bit strange for him. Jasper rarely if ever did not reply to people and there hadn't been even one week since he'd been at the school that he hadn't gone to the library to help out for a few hours. But he didn't exactly want to be around people today. He hadn't wanted to be around others yesterday either. He hadn't gone to classes; he'd stayed tucked away to various spots outdoors. The beach, the gardens, a few caves or secluded trails.

He was too distracted to be of any use to anyone. He knew he could use the distraction of trying to help but...he didn't feel it was fair to only give others half of his attention. There were others that could help them with their studies better then he could anyways. Thankfully he was so far ahead in his classes that none of the teachers and tried to contact him about missing classes. At least not yet. He figured eventually they would and he'd find some answer to make them happy and likely show again the next day.

For now though he just wanted to stay where he was.

He knew that he shouldn’t let Grey get under his skin like he had but it wasn’t even really the man himself that bugged Jasper. It was just…what he represented. It was what the sight of him made Jasper remember. He had gone for years now saying he was okay, that he’d gotten over it all and had just moved forward. What else was there for him to do? In this life you survived or you fell and never went anywhere at all and Jasper had wanted to move somewhere. He needed to move somehow from the shape he’d been in before. He did well in classes, he was friendly enough, a bit secluded but lots of people into their studies were. Most would never think anything wrong.

That was exactly how Jasper had wanted it. He didn’t want anyone to know, he hadn’t even spoken to Micah about it for a long time. It didn’t do any real good to go rehashing the past. Of course he’d read enough books and spoken with enough of the teachers to know that just pushing all of it aside was not healthy but when that seemed the easiest solution it was difficult to say no to doing so.

It had worked, hadn’t it? Jasper wasn’t so sure. But he was attempting to convince himself that after a few days he’d be able to get all of this out of his head again and just go back to how he’d been before. Go back to his books, to helping out teachers or tutoring. Maybe he’d look into actually becoming a teacher’s aid rather then just sort of helping out whenever. A few days was all he needed.

Today, despite the weather, Jasper was still outdoors. He was to one of his favorite spots, a large tree a bit away from the school. The limbs of the weeping willow tree were massive, giving adequate places for Jasper to sit without anyone at all below him able to see him. Plus the way the tree was most of the falling rain was deflected, though not all of it. Jaspers hair was still wet and the cigarette at his lips continued to threaten to go out before he could finish it up.

A bag was hanging from a branch not all that far from him. Heavy in weight it was filled with textbooks but none were currently out. The bag was closed; Jasper didn’t feel like reading right now. Instead he was leaning back against the tree, staring out across the distance. Just vaguely, far out there, he could see the ocean through the rain.

Week Two: Friday

Who: Nell and Micah
When: Friday Evening after class
Where: Front of the school and off to the shop.

Since coming to this place Nell had avoided going out. Blake had several times she was sure, but she preferred to stay at the school and get things done. It had been a long time since she had ever had homework and it took a considerable amount of time to do, really. But there was no real avoiding the need to get a new string for her guitar. Sure that one boy had offered but Nell despised just being handed things. It was not a situation that she liked to be in.

So that was what let her to standing at the front entrance of the school after classes were done. She had remembered to bring an umbrella with her at least and frankly she had been surprised that the two of them owned an umbrella. Still it was a lot warmer here than it would be in New York this time of year, so a little rain did not bother her. In fact she wondered just how warm it would get, considering it was only April. While she was used to sometimes sweltering heat in the city, she knew there were places that got much hotter. To tell the truth she preferred it cold.

If she had a watch she would have looked down at it to see if she had been waiting all that long. In truth she probably had not been standing there too long but the look of outside was hardly inviting. But she had walked through worst back home so there was no stopping her. She wanted that string, it was painful not being able to play if even just to pass time for a bit. A little rain was not going to deter Nell Nan.

As for the lightning she did not worry too much about that either. Chances were this boy would be taller than her anyway, so if it did for some reason strike and did not hit a building or a tree it would hit him before her. That was not an entirely kind thought but Nell did not mind the clashes of light in the sky. It had calmed down a bit at the very least.

Week One: Friday, April 5th, 2007

Who: All sorts of people
When: April 5th, Friday night
Where: The city, Heaven and Hell (specifically Hell)
What: JELLO WRESTLING!
((OOC: Sorry for the late start to the thread!))

What to wear, what to wear. Frankie shifted from her right foot to her left and then back again, the pattern repeating as she stood in front of her closet, trying to figure out what she would wear tonight. Sadly, jello wrestling would probably be best suited for a swimsuit. She only owned one, and it had never been worn in the water. The most action it ever got was on family vacations to secluded areas where no one would see a girl with wings running around. She didn't swim, not only because of the obvious reason of having freakish flaps attached to her back, but also because she hated water. Short, hot showers were it for her. Thankfully, jello was semi-solid, which was really the only thing that made it a tolerable substance for play time. She prayed it wouldn't melt too much, get too 'liquidy', or she'd just have to forfeit and bail. Frankie didn't do water. Period.

She was losing focus. Back to the clothing choices. Well, she could go with her red running shorts and a tight white tanktop... that could work. Or, she could just go for the bikini. The skimpy, pale pink number looked great on her, and she was wanting to show off some skin now that she was able. Give Grey and Clove both something to lust over. For Grey, it was sort of a reward for the things he had done RIGHT last night (she was willing to forgive him splashing her with water). But for Clove, it was almost like punishment... her way of saying 'look what you're missing out on, punk!' That pretty much made up her mind. Bikini!

Slipping into it, Frankie threw on some yoga pants and a tank top. She also put on a thick and fuzzy hoodie. The clothes would keep her warm for the trip to the club, and hopefully help her warm up after her wrestling match. She also decided to bring a towel.

Now, what to do with her hair, and should she wear makeup? Hmm... tricky. As Frankie considered it, she really wished she had some tequila. Dammit, making decisions like this was so much easier with booze! There was the practical side of her that said there was no point to wearing makeup and doing her hair, because it was just going to look a mess once she got in the jello pit. But, who knew how long she'd be walking around for everyone to see BEFORE that?! Yeah, she'd have to make sure she looked cute. Damn.

It didn't take long to get gussied up. She styled her hair down, her golden curls falling lightly over her shoulders. Her eyes were smokey, and she put on a nice sheer lip gloss to make her lips look kissable. As she looked at her reflection, she mused that she now KNEW what it meant to be kissed. It made her smile ear to ear and think about last night.

Augh, losing focus again! Ok, finish getting ready. She did so quickly, and with one last look at herself, grabbed her towel and headed out to hail a cab. It was a relatively short ride to the club, and her informal attire was accepted when she reached the entrance, because she told the bouncer she would be stripping off all but her tiny bikini once she got inside the warm building. The bulky man gave Frankie a long, slow look up and down, smiling wickedly, making Frankie feel violated. But, she forced herself to smile in return and even wink at the guy (who smelled like onions, yuck!). A second later, he let her pass, and she made her way down to the bowels of the club.

Hell was really something to behold. She liked it a great deal. It was packed with warm bodies, creating a delicious heat that she craved. Frankie immediately peeled off her hoodie and tank top, letting her wings get a good stretch as she made her way over to the jello pit set up, as promised, by the club's owner, Vale.
