The younger Rogue got arrested yesterday for using powers to help clean up after the carnival. Apparently she picked up and carried a dumpster, so definitely something she shouldn't have been able to do but not flash and explosions. They were planning to hold her overnight so hopefully she's out now and there are people trying to find out exactly how far the military's willing to go, but for now be extra careful about what you're doing in public. We don't know how closely we're being watched or how far they might escalate. The X-Men offered their place for any power training that's too obvious and there's still the gym.

I didn't want to bring it up in front of everyone, but back home we were dealing with a robot cop program being trialed in my neighbourhood that was getting a lot of complaints of overpolicing and excessive force. Tony developed a chip that could convert the signals I get from birds into video to be stored on a server in case we needed corroborating evidence. I don't necessarily like it, I've had it turned off the whole time I've been here, and if it became a solid possibility I'd really prefer everyone was aware it was happening, but if things get bad enough that video surveillance of public areas would help... it's an option.

So everything seems cheery recently. So we're basically playing the magical people around muggles, I guess. Don't let anyone know you're doing magic and if you do it around the muggles, you're in trouble. Does this mean they're tracking abilities?

What if your ability is basically being awesome at building things and fixing things? Also just so everyone knows, I'm probably going to get in a lot of trouble because sometimes my fingers like to smoke or randomly be on fire in emotional situations, so...I don't know what to tell anyone. I don't have control over that. Yet?

Hello, everyone. I'm sorry to have to reach out to you all in this manner but it seems the most efficient way to reach everyone. I'm going to keep this brief and if you have questions please feel free to ask them there.

Yesterday, one of the members of the X-Men was at the Carnival grounds and aiding in the clean up of the area. While at the grounds, she used her powers publicly. The Military proceeded to arrest her and keep her in custody for a large portion of the day. From my understanding, they were holding her overnight and should be releasing her at some point today. This is the first incident we've seen where the Military has responded to an outward display of power in such a manner.

With this in mind, I think it is important that we try to keep a low profile. The majority of us have operated under the Statue of Secrecy before. I think it is best if we all go back to operating under that type of mindset, at least when we are out in public.

Petunia, you live with the other major type of Wizards, do you not? Would you mind telling them this information as well?

So, that meeting I had mentioned going to before.

We never really had trouble with our powers getting too showy in public before, but I guess part of the reason was that we had the Mist to rely on. And unfortunately, it's not like Hecate is here to provide the Mist. Or anyone who can control it. I let them know about the Mist but I don't know what else could be done about the situation. Charmspeak can only do so much, I think.

The X-Men have provided Logan's gym to train at, though some of us were doing that already. Sounds like a good idea to get our chance to train with others outside of our group. And then, of course, there's still our grounds that are safely tucked away from the public. Probably goes without saying to be careful.

This past week, two people were approached by military personnel for use of their powers in a public venue. The second incident led to the military detaining the person, even though it seems they did nothing harmful. The pamphlets received yesterday seem to me to be tied into this.

The situation is being monitored but I wanted you all to know so you can be aware and to try and limit any use of your powers to private locations natives won't be able to see.

Hypothetical.

What are the odds that people from our worlds have been coming here for long enough that they've spread out? I mean, we're sticking around here, but what if people before us thought Tumbleweed was boring (understatement) and decided to leave.

What if some of them weren't, you know, necessarily benevolent?

I know this is light-hearted in light of what's going on, but Elektra put an idea in my head and it's not going away.

What if we all made a trip to New York for a weekend. I've got enough money to procure one of the teleporters for there and back. We get hotel rooms, have dinner, maybe see a show. Anything. All these horses and wide open spaces are making me long for the asphalt jungle.
