The Men of 1990 originally planned to have a small gathering. Just them in the pub night warehouse with a poker table and all the alcohol was left in storage.

As these things go, it was hard to keep a lid on something like a warehouse stocked with alcohol. This was especially when you had girlfriends outside the group who were super social people--Caleb and Damien :|. Not too big of a loss, really. As more and more people started to show up, the guys went to work to get the bar set up, put out the tables and chairs, and got the music going.

Yes my friends, we have ourselves the final Pub Night of the game. Everyone's welcome.

Following yesterday's post, Mason put out a text message giving everyone a date and time for meeting. It was earlier Saturday, after lunch. Not wanting to have them schlep themselves all the way out to the classrooms, he opened up one of the unused rooms on the higher floors and set up a bunch of chairs for people to sit on.

This OUTback was a little different. Usually Mason had a bunch of topics and current events prepared--harder more recently giving the media blackout--this meeting was more about the little community they'd created for themselves here at the International Vol Institute. Reminiscing upon the last year, he talked about how thankful he was to all of them for making sure that OUTback was one of the things that Mason would fondly remember about his time here.

He got visibly choked up when he talked about the member (members? Kati did Enely ever come?) of their community that they lost, Enver. Mason didn't talk about too much there. He also didn't want to make Davi uncomfortable if he came.

Mason then opened the floor for anyone else that wanted to speak to speak. As always, discussion was important!

As the meeting wrapped up, Mason made sure that everyone got his outside contact information with a message to never hesitate to call or e-mail or text him for anything, even if they just wanted to chat. He wished everyone good luck with whatever they were doing but added that he doubted any of them needed it. They're all amazing people and Mason was honored to know and meet them.

Warehouse - Students who end up in the warehouses are rounded up by IVF guards and shuffled into one central warehouse building, where they are told that they are not allowed to leave under any circumstances. A few students (Kitoko, Hailey) end up trying and get tazed for their efforts -- these guards are not friendly and are making plenty of threats. A few hours later, after two people (Benjie, Damien) overhear some guards talking about using the students as hostages to get the VR to back down, a larger group of students put together an organized attempt and they are able to break free, resulting in a fight between guards and students. The dust clears (and the students are free) around dawn.

Administration building lobby - This building goes into total lockdown mode, shutting all students inside until after midnight. At that time, the VR manages to override the system and break in. Over the course of the night, the VR attacks this building hard, but with powers rather than with serums. Their goal is to make sure that they have all of the information they can get from the IVF databases and physical record files -- and to kill all IVF staff along the way. Whether or not your characters participate in the fight (on either side) is up to you!

Library - The VR seemingly ignores this building and all staff flee from it to defend other areas, so students who decide to hunker down and take cover are safe here, and may want to try to get their friends to join them. In the middle of the night, two seriously injured VR members will show up, needing a place to rest and hide. It's up to the characters who are still there as to whether or not they allow them safe haven and try to help them with their injuries.

Cafeteria - Much like the Library, students here are able to barricade themselves inside -- much to the relief of the cooking staff. However, the VR manages to get inside and releases a serum. The serum is intended to only kill non-Vols, but this particular batch ends up affecting all of the Vols, too -- by causing their powers to go slightly wonky. For the rest of the plot, everyone in this group will experience random power difficulties -- their powers may go on and off periodically, they may "power up" for a short period of time, etc. It's up to you how you want to play with these power malfunctions, but they will all wear off by the end of the plot. (You can feel free to have them wear off anytime between Tuesday and Thursday.)

Medical center - In the chaos, a group of students end up in lockdown in the Medical Center, along with a (sizable) non-Vol medical staff population. IVF staff manages to barricade the building and they are kept here for several hours, unable to leave even if they want to. In the middle of the night (played out on Monday, July 8) several VR members manage to break in, but the students here intercept them and are able to stop them from releasing a serum, thus saving the IVF staffers. Whether or not your characters participate in the fight (on either side) is up to you!

At 7PM TONIGHT, a group of VU members assembled by the cluster of trees near the far side of the lake that one Carter Gray loves so well. Led by Carter, the group practiced a number of defensive moves with a focus on using their powers. Since this was no longer the primary focus or intent of the VU, the group itself was rarely mentioned (if at all), but Carter likely made numerous references to how these powers could be used against IVF guards and staff if push came to shove (especially since he's armed with the knowledge that it very likely will, thanks so much, Kim).

He would have started with a demonstration with Javier, with whom he feels most comfortable (Zoe, let me know if that's cool!). How vocal were your characters about how they would use their powers against the guards? What sort of power usage did they demonstrate?

The spot was chosen because it was known to be bug-free, but after approximately half an hour, the area was raided by several armed IVI guards. All students were taken to solitary, where they'll remain until the 7th. With the exceptions of 2 visitors on Wednesday at lunch, they will have no contact with anyone. Their roommates will be informed of this development within the hour.

There's going to be some movement on the defensive tactics and spy games front, so please keep an eye out for that! Other people, correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

Per Val's post yesterday, the Hunger Strikers gathered on the quad during meal times to show solidarity with Understanding. Anyone who also decided to partake of a one-day fast was also encouraged to join them, and basically just sit and look angry. They had their white board out again with their day count (it's seven now). During lunch, when the most people would be around, Sonia got up and gave a tiny speech saying how grateful they all were for the support, and how the IVF has the option of returning them all to good health and ending the strike by ceding their demands. It was very "solidarity, yay." Anyone else who wanted to get up and say something was welcome to.

Also of note, today after training, Nawal stood on the quad and lit fire to an IVF flag. I am assuming that guards came and put a stop to that pretty quickly, but feel free to remark on this. Of note: the flag-burning didn't occur during one of the meal get togethers, it was a separate occasion. Sorry for the confusion!

Finally, Sonia would have discreetly tried to talk to Nawal and Caleb to try and set up a meeting to give Caleb and whoever else is playing whistleblower the info they need and lay out their plans tonight. Sonia's got a flash drive, and she knows how to use it.

As per Julieta's melodramatic manifesto, there was a small gathering of protesters in the quad this afternoon in lieu of training, after the news about Betty broke (and also lunch).

Once there was a good amount of people (presumably those who had already confirmed to Juli that they'd be there), Sadie took it upon herself to create a rough, 8-foot wide/6-foot deep moat around them to deter the approach of staff & guards. There was no fighting, and obviously they found away around the moat eventually (and also made Sadie fix it before dragging her off to solitary).

First! The most recent inductees (as well as the people who directly recruited them) all met early Saturday afternoon, invited via word of mouth. They were given the brief run-down (presumably most of them have heard this already, were shown how to install the chip/use the undernet, etc) and were encouraged to ask questions, start suggesting names for the next round of recruits, and to volunteer if they are interested in leading a group because they're comfortable with their power and can handle the responsibility. So far, they are told that Vol Squad nominations are being considered if you feel very strongly about them, but they're going to require serious vetting given the risk. Also, pick a codename and feel free to start using the undernet!

Saturday afternoon, Cati's group met (Cati, Carter, Daisy, Conner, Elise, Rianne, Rose, Kim, Kelly, Valery, Fin, Nelly, Val).

Sunday afternoon, Mason's group met (Mason, Audra, Don, Edwin, Jack, Sonia, Nolan, Vic, Jace, Alex, Harlow, Benjie, Kiara, Kier).

This time, Cati and Mason were more or less just supervising and participating with everyone else, though comment below if you have any questions for either of them. Try out new things with the new people, work on things you started last week, figure out how your skills could help others or who might have skills that could help you, talk to people you wouldn't normally get to train with, etc etc. Power readings were available for the new people again, so please comment below with what he would have told them!

Next week, more specialized/smaller power groups should be forthcoming, so keep an eye out.
