TIME UPDATE

Day 58.

Weather: I am so glad you asked. See events for more information.

Events: In the hours between midnight and 3 am, the temperature drops a little over twenty-five degrees, into the low 30s and even the high 20s. At some point in the night, it begins snowing. Due to the rapid temperature drop, the earth is too warm for snow to really collect at first, but by dawn? The world is blanketed in white. At five am there's about four inches of snow. By seven, there's over a foot of it. And it just doesn't stop. If anything, it starts snowing harder in the later hours of the morning. By noon there's well over two feet of it, and it just keeps piling up. Hope you weren't planning on heading into town. You could figure out where the road is supposed to be by where the trees aren't, but visibility is crap, and there's a good layer of ice forming under all that snow.

Statue dude keeps making the noises from yesterday, but today he'll finally begin speaking to more than just Experiment B. He doesn't call anyone by name today, but there's a lot of mumbling and muttering. Sometimes, when a single individual passes him by, they may hear a single whispered sentence: "Man is free at the moment he wishes to be." Nothing else he says is terribly coherent, though you might hear words like 'soon' and 'freedom' a lot. Up to you if you think that's encouraging or ominous or not.

Finally, at about 10 AM, all participants of Experiment B receive a message from TPTB. In Simms' case, his message only comes through when he is either alone, or all guards present are fellow members of Experiment B. It reads:

"We consider Experiment B to be a flying success. We are deeply impressed with your efforts, and happy to say most of you have taken to it with no difficulty. It is interesting to us, however, that there is division amongst your numbers. Every one of you seems to have even a slightly different idea of how you may best serve your purpose. We did not wholly anticipate this, but welcome it.

Up until this moment, we have lumped participants of Experiment B together. You were rewarded as a group, and you have been kept on equal footing. We are changing this system.

First, we mean to reward you.
How we do this, we leave to you. We would like you all to come together, discuss and vote upon how you desire to be rewarded. Our only exception is usage of any sort of secret passageways or tunnels. We have given Simms this privilege out of necessity; at this time, we do not desire to extend these rights to the entire group. Beyond that, discuss what it is you most want from us. Tomorrow, you will be rewarded.

From then on, we do not intend to reward you as equals. Your victories are your own. Each of you, as an individual, will earn their own favors, and may choose whether or not they desire to share what they are given with the rest of the group. You may choose to operate as a lone wolf, or together as an alliance - however you feel you function best.

We ask you two final questions. These questions must be answered before you will be allowed to access the network again, and discuss with your companions in Experiment B.

How have you handled yourself in Experiment B thus far? Do you intend to continue in this manner?

Thank you for your time."

After reading the message, an answer field pops up, and cannot be closed until an answer is submitted.
