Day 47.Weather: Still a bit windy and chilly, but no real changes. Excellent sweater weather.
Events: The morning begins quietly enough. There appears to be no communication, nor any changes to the kitchen. The town still only has fruits and vegetables at their disposal. For hours, it appears as though there's going to be nothing to go off of at all. At 11 AM, a siren goes off all around town (and yes, in the house). After three sharp blasts, a robotic voice makes an announcement. It says:
"Special correspondence incoming in twenty minutes. Report to your computers."
Twenty minutes later, everyone receives a message on their computers. It reads:
"Greetings.
Your efforts have not escaped our attention. Many of you seem willing, and in some cases even eager to meet our requirements. It is unfortunate that this task may perhaps be above your capabilities. We appreciate your efforts as a whole, and are willing to make a bargain.
You are in need of special supplies if you are to meet your obligations in the changing season. Because you have at least tried to do as we requested yesterday, we would be willing to count your efforts, give you back your food supply, and some additional supplies for the coming days. In return, we require an act of propitiation.
Some weeks ago, we released a stag into the town. It still dwells within the boundaries of Mount Zenith. As a show of good faith, we require that you hunt and kill it. Pam still has a crossbow, if she can be convinced to part with it.
You have until dawn."
