Day 84.

Weather: No changes from yesterday. Cold, sunny, the world blanketed in (at least) knee-deep snow. The town looks like a Christmas card from the 50s, and that's not creepy at all, right?

Events: Perhaps predictably with all of the removals that took place yesterday, there are two new additions to the house today. Tara and Nicolae will wake up in their rooms at around 8 in the morning. Each of the new individuals receives the same experience as did those on day 1, with the addition that their doors and windows will not unlock until they access the network, as in day 2. Tara will have been abducted on December 13th, while Nicolae was taken on December 14th.

At 9 AM, everyone (including the two poor, confused newbies) will receive a message from TPTB on their computers. It reads:

Greetings, and Happy Holidays.

A frequent topic of conversation and speculation within the house has been whether or not to observe holidays. In the past, we have helped you to do this. That was well-received and appreciated, and we have decided once again to intervene and assist. You are all here against your will, and you are all dealing with that fate in different ways. Contrary to your beliefs, we are not heartless. The testing we do is necessary, but you deserve to be rewarded.

There is a new program on your computer desktops, labeled Santa's Workshop. You may launch that program, and submit shopping lists for gifts you want to give your companions. You may submit as many as you wish, for whoever you wish. You may not ask for anything for yourself. In two days, we will distribute the gifts as ordered and requested, though we reserve the right to veto any outlandish or impractical requests. You may not request forms of transportation, communication with or information on the outside world, or other living beings.

You will also find a selection of holiday music has been added to the CD libraries in the gym, as well as the basement karaoke station.

This is not where you would normally choose to celebrate your holidays, but we hope you choose to celebrate all the same, and enjoy them.

Okay, so it's not the weirdest day to wake up in Mount Zenith, but can we at least agree this is probably in the top ten?
