She was still enjoying the apples she'd taken from Yoshi's island. It felt weird to pluck something off a tree and just put it in her mouth, but the first time she'd done it, it was out of spite. Just to say that she'd had an apple from Yoshi's tree.

But when she realized she could taste it, she had a bit of a freak out.

Not a bit.

She full on went crazy on the apples. She tried whatever colors she could find to see if there was any different. She tried the mushrooms. Liv even tried a bit of grass (but shh, she wasn't going to tell anyone that).

And then she went back to the ship, and it was all gone. She felt like normal. The food tasted like nothing unless she poured so much hot sauce on it that a full grown Seattle Seahawk would end up vomiting in a bathroom on the tour plane, taking up the only bathroom for hours. Nothing sounded good, even when the idea of it being amazing out there was cemented in her brain.

So she'd been spending nights out on the islands. Eating apples and mushrooms.

And then it hit her.

Ask friends to bring her things. Make new friends with it.

And so the picnic idea sprang to life. Liv stretched out her blankets and sheets so that the more the merrier could enjoy this as much as she would.

She just had one rule: if you brought something, Liv might want a bite of it.
