Here is one thing about Tumbleweed in this year I never thought I'd say, but here is the truth of it - when the dust storms pass, the stars? They remind me of the stars I could see in France. Not as a girl, but as a woman grown from the window of a certain tower.

In the midst of everything wrong, I choose to see this as one thing that is a comfort, and a thing that is set to the positive, if we're all keeping track.

So, it isn't just me who didn't have a cat that didn't come through to this world with them, right? I prefer the idea of Batman being left in an apartment with an automated feeder and water bowl, than him getting lost out here right now.

I'm not sure how to react to the fact that exactly one year ago today, some of us were living in an area that sheltered a few in a cave, and had no actual plumbing or AC or anything. On the bright side, less worry about bigotry. On the down side, more worry about a large smoke monster and creepy whispers. In this situation, I think I'd have liked to take the island again. Ideally, I just want to be back home already.
