As Diwali last weekend should have reminded people we're now in the season of things being celebrated with fireworks.

If you're like me and rather averse to fireworks please check for upcoming events in your area and plan how to avoid them if necessary.

My personal choice is either warding my flat up against sound, closing all my curtains and spending the evening in, or going somewhere they won't be celebrating that. Doing something with friends for the evening is a good plan.

Don't forget to apparate or floo to places to avoid being outside.

Can't settle to anything well. Feel like I'm missing a limb. How did we do this in fifth year? I can't- we never not like this.

I don't know how much more of this I can take. I feel like part of me is missing. God it's not even because I love him, it's because he's my best friend. And maybe we got a bit co-dependant but for fuck's sake we all got damaged in the stupid fucking war and we help each other out and keep each other going. And I don't know how to do that without him. I haven't had to do that without him. Even when he was travelling we were still talking.

How are we not talking properly? I feel strangled every time I'm near him. I want to apologise but I don't know how to do it. I can't tell him. He'd never talk to me again.

That means I have to visit Aunt Rose. I don't want to do it, but I can't just drop in there and borrow the fruit and leave a note like I would from Mum. And I know Mum doesn't have any steeping.

Otherwise I'm going to spend three hours in Susan's pool turning into a shrivelfig and still end up with half a day to fill. I don't even have a book to distract me that isn't about art and I really cannot be arsed to go shopping.

Yes, yes, whiny and pathetic with my dream job. I'm aware. But there's only so much busywork I can make.

I've been trying out some new recipes. I wouldn't mind some taste-testers if anyone has some time. I promise it's nothing odd. No gross things mixed with other gross things.

Is anyone else ever (even temporarily or very briefly) thankful for anything they or others would usually consider a bad side effect of their treatment?

Normally it's annoying, unhelpful or at the least something I just get on with, but just at the moment, just briefly it is a relief. And that's strange for me.

I've been looking at Charlie's announcement since yesterday, and thinking about the whole thing where there's a quiet area now.

I kind of want to try it out. But not alone, because without some backup it's a stupid idea.

Either or both of you want to?

Doesn't have to be for Pride. I just want to feel a bit more normal with my hobbies.

Easing back off sleeping potions is always such a bloody delightful thing. Mild sleep regulation issues are basically expected.

What I expected to keep me awake or wake me up: nightmares or worry about them

What actually has me awake at two in the bloody morning: art.

And not the fun kind where I'm in a groove and want to finish something before crashing out on the sofa. Oh no. The kind where I've just about fallen sleep only to shoot upright again because I can't remember if the two masking methods I think I'm going to need to use for my new piece actually interact with each other okay.

And that spiralled into working out spell layering orders. Which lead to internal debates about canvas preparation difficulties because of multiple individual scenes and trying to remember properties of potions ingredients I don't use very often. Or rather which ingredients have the properties I need and don't interact badly with the others I have to use.

Circe only knows if my notes will make sense in the morning.

Taking a half dose of potion so my mind will shut the fuck up and actually sleep. It has all damn day to think about this crap. It doesn't need to smack me around in the middle of the night with it.

And you all thought I just slapped paint on a canvas.

Now the quidditch season is over for the summer I'm thinking of doing a bit more flying. Not sure I'm up to a match but I'm open to throwing a quaffle around one weekend if there's interest.

A combination of circumstances have lead to me coming up with a new art project and I need your help with it. Yes. You reading this.

What I'd like to create is an image of a wall where each individual 'brick' contains words which play on somebody's mind/are part of their nightmares/haunt them. Each 'brick' will also have background image which relates to somebody's words. Words and images will be mixed and matched at random.

I can make this as large or as small as I have the words for.

What I need from you is a note of:

1. The words which haunt you
2. The setting which you associate with it (this could be a location, a type of wall, simply a colour)

For example one of my phrases is 'Go. I'm right behind you.' and I associate this with a forest.

Last day of the show today. Thanks to everyone who came and supported us at any point. We're open until 7pm if you still want to buy anything.

It's been pretty freeing to not be really pushing and putting myself in the studio for extra-long hours. Yes friends will tell you that I have been known to do it anyway, but shows always make it far worse.

Anyhow. Christmas shopping awaits. Normally I'd wait until later but since I won't have my studio back until at least Monday and there's no push for anything at all art-wise I'm going to take advantage. Not that I have a clue what to buy most people. Usual plan of walking around some places until inspiration strikes it is.

I love them, but my two sisters, two parents, and despite my best efforts my girlfriend were all in the same room at the same time. Like a car crash waiting to happen.

I'm spending the evening cooking to calm my brain. Anyone want food when I'm done? Not sure what there will be yet.
