As you can see, I'm arranging a birthday party for Gregory. I know he prefers a quieter atmosphere - but what's a party without a little music and dancing? I was wondering if it would be possible to commission some kind of wearable piece for him. Something that would dim the sound of the music without making it impossible for him to hear conversation. Do let me know if that sounds like something you can do - I'm perfectly willing to pay a little extra if it will mean it's ready for his birthday.

I know, I'm such a horrible friend, having to postpone your birthday celebration. Unfortunately, between your trip and my last minute uber deadline, my plans for your birthday were all messed up.

But Caduceus is on his way to you with your present now. I put the final touches on it this morning. I must admit, I'm terribly nervous as to whether or not you'll like it.

Now open your gift, and no, please don't be disappointed yet. I know the little owl statues [each one a little different than the other, and animated slightly] aren't much to look at, but bear with me! Put one in each corner of the room, any room, and go stand in the middle. Face each one in turn and say this incantation [incantation warded hard for her eyes only].

It's as close as I could get to the ceiling of Hogwarts, without actually getting more Charms masters and invading your home. The up side is it is portable, and you can change the rooms by moving the statutes to a different room -- so now you can always have a magical ceiling, whenever you want and wherever you go.

Happiest of birthdays, my dear, dear friend. We'll go out and celebrate it properly soon.

Do what you can to clear my schedule for the next week or so. I'll be over at the Lovegood's helping Luna with her father's funeral, etc. If something can't be put off, I'd appreciate it if you'd handle what you feel comfortable with.

Put my caterer on standby. Luna will probably need something to wear, so get in touch with whoever you'd recommend. Whichever barrister in the pool who is best with death, taxes, and inheritance. I'll let you know about a funeral director, church, and all the rest after I have a chance to sit down with Luna and find out how she wants things done. Given that X was a public figure, it might be prudent to plan for some discrete security as well. I'll ask Dora to attend the actual ceremony with me, just in case, but I'm thinking Luna doesn't need to be bothered at home right now.

I assume by now you've seen the notice about Mr.Lovegood passing. I'll be over at the house helping Luna with arrangements.

I'd appreciate it if you could plan to attend the actual funeral and other goings-on with me. The old gentleman was a bit of a loose canon in print, and I'd hate for any of his fans or detractors to disturb Luna at this time. There isn't likely to be a disturbance made you and I couldn't handle together.

[Left at the foot of Tristan's bed in the late afternoon, with little charmed, silent fireworks in various colors]

Dearest Tristan,

There's a reason it's late, darling, I promise. The contents of the chest weren't ready until just a couple of hours ago, which is what happens sometimes when you have things made, I suppose. I really hope you like it; I admit I'm not sure, but the lady and I worked on it.

The chest, too, is yours -- redone in the shop, so you wouldn't see me working on your gift. It's cedar, and it smells good, and I've added some charms and can add more if you want.

I love you, darling. You're my dearest everything, and I know I've been absent a lot lately, but between work and private freaking out, I haven't been the greatest company. But you'll find something else in there that I hope will help a little, too.

Inside the cedar chest is a voucher to a private ship cruise either in the Mediterranean or the Caribbean to be used in the next year, for at least two people; a hand written note attached to the top adds: I've talked to your keeper, and he cleared this for me so long as you/I give him an itinerary.

Also inside is handmade quilt with various cheering and comforting and sleeping charms, mild and helpful, worked into it. A few of the fabric swaths can be traced back to robes or fabrics from things from a happier time of their childhood.

Left on the kitchen counter at Mils' flat, hidden by an Invisibility Charm until this morning, are a cake, a small box, a large box, and a note written in sparkly ink that rotates through different shades of green. The note reads: Many happy returns, Panda-Dora! Love, Mils

Happy birthday, Dora.

Erm, well I don't know how to ask this but is it possible that Slinky, Blinky, or Boris by any chance drop something off at your flat? I have a feeling Blinky and Boris wouldn't have done such a thing, but Slinky does get certain ideas from time to time.

Dora charmed the quill to write in different writing than her own. Hers and Hyperion's interactions always seemed to go more smoothly when she wasn't herself, which both made her sad and mad. She used the shop owl. It wasn't the first time she had done this, unfortunately.

Your peacock has disappeared from the work room again. I thought you should know.

If you find it again, feel free to bring it by. It would be done now except it keeps disappearing despite the charms being stripped.
